Bro why did this make me laugh so hard 🤣 coming from years of hearing people clap off beat it is finally nice to hear a whole room who has decent temp lmao.
His career is the kind that EVERY drummer should want. Traveling all the time, seeing millions of fans all over the world, playing for 1 of the biggest stars in the world, and still humble enough to not it all taken away from him. He gets calls from companies, major endorsements, and he's just enjoying the fruits of his labor while seeing this entire planet while along for the ride. THIS is what we strive for. Luckily, I live the same. Stay focused guys! You can DO this!! - Chris Bonneau
What a wonderful person Tony Royster is. My grandson is 4 and have been looking at your videos since he is one. He imitates your every move. Thanks for the inspiration. You are very inspiring.
Beyond every word or musical expression...inspiration has connected my motivation with the energy I am grateful to see in you and your creation Tony. Life is truly beautiful =D!!!
This is the third Tony Royster video I've watched this morning, beginning with him at 12. Man, how that electronic kit ABSOLUTELY KILLS any sense of excitement - HATE it! Acoustic drums will NEVER be replaced.
Amazing, the dude is an absolutely phenomenal drummer and seems like truly a nice, humble guy. Been keeping my eye on him since he was on star search or whatever at the age of 12 (?), truly inspiring.
That's why he makes clear he's there for fun (he learned on wood and steel drums) and he's showing a path to how you can be creative with tools available.
I've ben watchin dis cat 4 a min and he amaze me evry time I c a clip of him playin......Big ups 2 Tony Royster Jr.....@ musiqman871 yur bro did his thang wit dat track.....
Tony Royster is the man. I used to try and hate him too, but when he talks he sounds so humble, and his skills are un matched. I wish he traveled around the U.S. and gave lessons...that would be awesome!
Tony royston jr is One of the best drummers in america and I respect him becouse he is talanted and he deserves the ratings that he gets but honestly they are amazingly out of the World drummers but are not reconized all over the World and wish they can have that oppotunity to be where Tony is. it upsetting for real I just hope that Tony appreciates where he is today.
Wait so he was a drummer for a pop/rap artist? I don't listen to Jay Z but does he drum like this in the songs? cuz if not then he needs to do more of this.
+Snail Man nah bro when it comes to touring drummers you kind of need to stay on the down low. Let the artist get all the attention, get your check and go XD sad but true
Why do you say that? Why would an "average musician" have trouble recognizing great playing? Personally, I think that many musicians would enjoy this and think that it's great while others might think that it's just someone moving their hands really fast. You know, just like normal people might.
Honestly, I feel like Tony might not even understand what he's playing sometimes. I don't mean that he isn't able to, but as a drummer, I often do things just out of "feel" or instinct and when I think about them after (or listen to them) I say to myself, "wow, what did I do there?". As for context, I think that the electronic drums in this video provide great musical context with their samples and non-traditional drum sounds. Which is to say, non-musicians or even non-drummers can hear how his drumming makes sense as part of a larger whole of a track/song/performance.
LenMan619 I had a (english comp) professor once who told me how she loved math and it was a real easy class for her to breeze through, but english classes were always a struggle for her. Naturally I asked if math was her favorite subject why did she not teach it? Her reply was that she never really "understood" how to learn math (it all came naturally to her) whereas all the struggling that she had to endure in english classes left her with a better understanding of how to learn (and thus teach) that subject. I think that the same can be said of many prodigies or other naturally talented persons: when asked how they can do such amazing things, they might not know how it happens. I don't think that's true of everyone, but I do believe that it's pretty common.
While I don't have the ultra expensive set he plays, it is very inspirational to see what he does with just a small set of the total sounds that are available: even on my cheap td17 kvx set. Amazing drummer!!!
Any of you who dislike those sounds, remember tr 909 and it's influence on music in general. I myself dont even bother about acoustic kit presets, those other ones are the shit, and you can make your own presets. It is the future of drums.
