When Gaskell opens the door - takes a look and says, "Blimey!", and is actually in Tudor times is just a brilliant bit of creativity. I have always loved "The Life of Sir Phillip Sydney" and the way it plays with the concept of time. Michael Palin is great in this.
Loved the 70's version of the seedy porn purveyor - backrooms with a multitude of 'grumble' mags, likely most quite tame by today's standards, at exorbitant prices. Interesting that 'filth' is translated as 'porno' in Spanish.
