I started windsurfing in 1980 or 1979. I can´t remember exactly. Since then the sportsgear has developed rapidly, but especially the sails. The 1980ies were a crazy and fast period. I remember Mr Spindler with his bizarre cutaway design and his idea of taking out the pressure from the leech. Thats exactly how every sail looks like and works today. Very wise and very far ahead. Nowadays it is the evolutionary process he describes. I´ve just orderd a new set of purelips and can´t wait to ride them. The body is old, but the spirit is still alive, thanks for your passion

Interesting. Do you feel there is much more development to be had in windsurf sail design? Is the future likely to be iterative improvement of the current designs, or is there something radically different possible in the future, possibly just with a different, or as yet too expensive material? If you had unlimited budget or access to certain materials, would you design a sail that was vastly different from what we currently have?

I much appreciate all these tech talks. And I have same questions as @paulsp2k.
