I'm a lifelong Piston's fan so I could see that from a mile away. I'm impressed that from a distance you could see the same thing even if you're not a Piston's fan. I share your sentiments. All Monty had to do is work on developing our young core - and he ABSOLUTELY REFUSED to do that. Monty was a freaking disaster.

Tom Gores kept hounding Williams and throwing more bag at him until he took the job. He admitted in the introduction press conference that he was taking it for the money. He also took it to drive up pricing for coaches that followed him. He was a bad fit for the team as he doesn't do well with coaching a younger team. Give it up to Tom Gores for admitting his mistake and eating the 65 million. Williams was playing Killian Hayes over Jaden Ivey which was stupid. Gores is a horrible owner. Weaver made so many mistakes in not building the team in drafting players that didn't fit around Cade Cunningham. If Cade Cunningham is going to be your center piece, you gotta put the right team around him. Weaver drafted Killian Hayes over Tyrese Halliburton, which supposedly was a decision made by their front office (art tellum) who also needs to go. Gores has had 6 HC's since he brought the team.

This is why as a miserable Wizards fan, I’ve got no issue with keeping Brian Keefe for another two seasons. If no one wants the job, just take what you can get. Because MONTY WILLIAMS AND DETROIT.

You may not have picked up on this. But Troy never wanted Monty the owner did. Even in the press conference the owner and the Troy mentioned having screaming matches about the selection. The Monty went out there and played his cards in the worst possible way all season.

Definitely not a new theory but I definitely think this was a possibility. Nothing he did made sense and he literally sabotaged our core by wasting not only a full year, but the teams personal confidence in each other and themselves.

If he tried to lose his job, it's disgusting character and pathetic. It is obvious he took the job because of the money due to what he said that I can say. He made very bad moves and I have to think the new coach will be smart enough to put the many skilled players together and understands chemistry. Weaver was not the weak link, but I still want a better GM that be more active and creative, even half of what the Lions GM does.
