Mood Rings - The Line 

This was my life!! My Era!! It is still so vibrant in my mind and seems like only yesterday! But it wasn’t yesterday… I turned 60 today, September 10, 2022. I was born in 1962 and graduated High School in 1980. Those were great times!! We had the BEST CARS, BEST MUSIC EVER and the BEST HAIR!!!

I remember when this vid came out! I was a junior in high school! Listening to this and the whole album during nights after football games or after band practice was such a vibe. Miss those days

The careful culling of the source material (which I found tedious to watch in its original form, also on RU-vid) is really something special. I also love the pacing (pep rally, to marching couples, to game, to crowning of the Queen, to formal pics and eye rolls, to dancing in the dark for eternity). The reason I felt compelled to comment, though, is because the editing, set with the melancholy music talking about the fleeting nature of time, elevates and ennobles these little people and their little, fleeting, happy times, all so impossibly long ago.

And the song is also unbelievable.

I'm English, but I love this video! Remember the times, and they were magical over here also! All the kids look so happy, enjoying each other's company, dancing, fun, a bit of romance = perfection!! The nights were brighter and full of promise and fun

This takes me back to the 80s. I was class of 1990, had I graduated. But, noooo. I was too cool for school. I dropped out in 1988 and followed Timothy Learys advice to "drop out and drop acid". We smoked pot and took pills. I hung with the skaters and punks. We listened to music like Dead Kennedys, The Smiths, Depeche Mode, Skinny Puppy. Front 242, KMFDM, The Cure, The Cult, New Order and Joy Division. It was the best of times. The marvelous 80s. I am still there in my ❤ of ❤'s. Long live the 1980s!!!
