For me, Moodies since 1971 when college roommate came back from Christmas break with DOFP. He said, and boy was he right, “never heard anything like this before!”
Great post. Our generation really out did all who came after them didn't even come close to the music we grew up on they had Heart , passion ,skill and talent that has been unmatched 👏
I had a question in an italian class what day of my life would I like to relive and I picked the day I saw the Moody Blues at an afternoon concert and then at night. so now I decided I needed to listen to some of their music

A classmate in High school gifted “On a Threshold of a Dream” in early 70’s she started a life long love of the Moody Blue’s. I believe in some way she, and they helped me understand what’s important in this world today. I’m very grateful for who I am today for there inspiration. : ) Take you… Moody Blue’s!!!
From our perspective, that is hard to imagine, eh? I came of age listening to the Moodies (I'm 63 now). These dang Gen Z'ers will never know real and good music.
Knights in white satin is my wife and my favorite song. Wi waltzed to it and I played it to her while she in hospice care waiting to meet Jesus we were married for 54 years and she is the love of my life.
We had it played by an acoustic duo at our wedding, only 7 years ago. And my wife is also the love of my life. We hope one day to be married as long as you ❤❤

Sad to hear of the passing of Mike Pinder. His melltron defines so much of the Moody sound. Will always wonder what if he had rejoined after the band reunited. Thanks for the music, gentlemen. Ray, Graham and Mike rest in peace. John and Justin, carry on. Moddys forever.
I'm already 68 years old now and nothing no better of good Old rock and roll all the bands than will not be able to go compare to the bands of today I'm old-school and love the moody blue
The great music of our era (I'm 72) will not be reproduced. The attitudes, events, other musical influences, friendships, and experimental forces coming of age that shaped society brought us the best music, IMO.
I do appreciate your unselfishness in posting MB concerts. Back in the days, in 60s,70s , in the philippines, only a lucky few can listen to the moody blues music and i can not afford to buy their vinyl albums! Now, om bingeing on their music. Legends!!
I'm 65 years old. I grew up listening to the best music. And watching the greatest composers and musicians play with talent and skill, who had great passion for the performing arts. They really had a lot fun creating their music. God Bless all those musicians and composers who have brought great music to our lives. Moody Blues is just one of many bands who gave all of us their gifts. Thank you Sir Hayward and your companions in music.

I was lucky enough to catch them at the Isle of Wight festival (1970 as i recall). I will never again know the feeling of complete freedom and just getting lost in the music as i did listening to the Moodys as the sun went down on a perfect day 😎❤️. If only the young of today could experience 5 minutes of what life was really like back then, they would throw out this corrupt cabal of money grabbers and demand our lives back.

I'm 68 now and received my first Moody Blues album in 1970. A Question of Balance. I have all their albums now. I listen to them all to this day and still go on U- Tube to see them in concert. What a journey this band takes you on!!
Rota Spain 1970, Naval Air station , The Moody Blues did a shakedown show at the NCO Club, a month before Isle of white... while we sailed off into a devastating F5 Hurricane at Sea. That show was complete with the same opening show as the Isle of white day 1
This is the band that set me on a quest to discover extraordinary music. Now at 72, the quest is not complete and I'm still discovering. I return to the Moodies from time to time and I enjoy every visit.
There will never be as great of a band as the moody blues. They are perfection. They will always be remembered and played by are children's children. 😘
I'm now 70 years old and remember being in the Moody Blues Fan club at 14!! Watching Moody Blues in Concert ...never fails to move me. RIP Denny Laine.
So here I am at 66 with tears in my eyes. In Vivid remembrance of what I was just reminded of, and an ache in my heart of Music's distant past. Maybe as young teenagers, we didn't quite know what was before Us as well as what was to come. I can't hardly describe the death of so many many things around Us and beyond Us. The planet is falling apart and War is killing folks. The Moody Blues Rocked Our World then and now. Sadness and happiness all in One Music Odyssey. LOVE & PEACE 2 all. I saw them in 1977 at the age of 18 and it was an unbelievable concert with such class and a unique sound that no other classic rock band had back then or now as well. They are one of the best bands you will ever see in a life time.
I saw them 3 times. The first was in 1978 when I was 22 at the old Capital Center in Landover, MD. I've been a lifetime fan and still love their music.
That's great! You probably have a very good mind for all those memories! I lived in Arlington, VA (Yorktown HS, class of '74) from '71 to '95 (with a break for college). My first concert at the Cap Center was Grand Funk Railroad in '73 and I saw Elton John and Kiki Dee in '75. I'm also a big Journey fan and saw them in Honolulu (without Steve Perry) around 2015. I don't have a computer, or laptop, yet. Can't afford one. I only have a mobile phone. I plug my headset into my mobile phone, and the Orchestra and the Moody Blues sounds wonderful.
Saw the Moodies at Stoneleigh in Warwickshire, 1979, Ray Thomas said during his introduction speech "we've played some places but this is the first time we've played in a f@@@ing cow shed" At 72, still my favourite band.
i had all their 8-track tapes in the 70's Loved their music then and still listen today on computer 8-tracks are long gone but the memories are still in this 70 year old timer's mind. the 60's 70's and early 80's were the greatest time to live
In 1974 I would play Seventh Sojourn over and over as I drove north under the stars at night through the California desert headed to ski in Mammoth, my friends all drifting off to sleep. My friend Phil passed away years ago, and Jim is somewhere in Mexico. At 67 I look back and smile.
My second best album ever was seventh sojourn just behind King Crimson court of the Crimson King so grateful to live during a time when there were endless groups to enjoy with real music! Moody blues ROCK!
Doesn't get any better than these guys. Methinks that "The Story in Your Eyes" is as underrated a rock song as there is. What a base beat! They sound as good as they did in '64!!! Bravo, Moody Blues.
Justin Hayward has been playing a beautiful ES guitar the whole show. Then he comes out for the encore "Ride My Seesaw" on my guitar- a white Fender Stratocaster with ebony finger board. What a rush! Already blown away then he finishes me off. Blissful beyond belief. Moody Blues- so much gratitude 🙏 🕉
We have been listening to these gentlemen since 1970's I'm Graduate School, in Wisconsin, Madison. They are as good as Cliff Richard, their fellow English man. We went to England in 2014. Went to see the Stonehenge and a sidetrip to Justine birthplace, nearby Western parts. Wiltshire. God Bless these gentlemen. SUCH a wonderful band, so many Great songs, and so good live. I swear I went to bed for 2 years, between the ages of 8-10, listening to THE DAYS OF FUTURE PASSED. No wonder I had such a happy childhood.
I spent much of my time aged 19-20 listening to The Moody Blues. Since then they've continued to give me a great deal of musical peasure. Now I'm 73 and going to this wonderful concert on my smart phone. Gives a whole new meaning of GROOVY
I’m 74 too. I made some beautiful, slightly mind altered love to their music in 1970 and on and also did some truly wicked things with their music as a soundtrack. I still dream about both when I hear their music. Thanks for all the memories. . . .

I’m 71 years old, discovered Days of Future Past and became a Moody Blues Fan immediately. Fortunately, I was able to get backstage twice and spend time with each of them except Mike Pinder who had left by then. Justin is an incredible Songwriter! The Group is simply Amazing!!!
I’m 84 years old. At one time I was In a sailboat, the Atlantic was open and I felt I could go anywhere. That’s what Sirius does, it takes me there in my mind.

I was fortunate enough to have met them in Daytona Beach. Sat on a couch with Ray and talked for half an hour and then went to their hotel and had dinner. I WILL NEVER FORGET THAT NIGHT!!
Never get tired of listening to the Moody Blues. At 73 I wore out the vinyl, eight track, cassette and now the C D of Days of Future Past. Love their music!
I saw the Moodies play with the orchestra in my city, I believe it was mid 90s. My friend & I lucked out and had 2nd row in the middle. We knew where they were staying, we went with only a hope & a dream..and Gordon Marshall, drummer & John Lodge came into the bar. Will never forget, Gordon came over right away as am sure he knew we'd been at the show, cause he saw us. Then John came in, I thought I will never have this chance again..I had on a Moodies pen on my jacket. John said, where'd you get that? I said I bought it...then I said, John I've been waiting for this awesome opportunity for 25 yrs...and he graciously came to our table where Gordon was already there. All 4 of us talked for over 2 hrs. Unforgettable, of course they took pictures w/ us, signed our concert books we'd purchased at the concert. Truly we talked not only about music, but many other social issues. It was like talking to friends I'd known for yrs, and I think they felt comfortable as well. It finally got so late, & they had to be up very early for their flight to another state for a concert the next night. My pics I took of course are framed & proudly displayed in my home...It was MAGICAL!! btw..have seen Moodies many times, but this time was Beyond..I try to see them every time they are here....XO
+BK Swanson (Buffy) Life is sweet at times. A magical night. When I saw them in concert about 20 years ago, it was more than music. It was ... idk. Fun, spiritual, eternal, good, sweet, powerful. We were fans before then, and well, I can say that I experienced love in that concert. I was changed, came away a better man, more tolerant, etc Interesting.
Imagine that? The young kid is absolutely enthralled with the Moody Blues? Songs from the 60s and so on continually passed through generation after generations.
