I first discovered this woodland in the spring of 2016 and I believe this is the first time I've experienced lovely misty conditions. I've enjoyed many days in this wood but it was great to see some dense mist for a change. The patchy snow was quite challenging and I do think it's caused a bit of a distraction on some of the photos. I'd say that there is 1 keeper from the set, so I'd class that as a success.
Today is Meg's BIRTHDAY! The past 6 years with her have flown by but what a joy she has been - I wouldn't be here making RU-vid videos if it wasn't for her. A life changing dog :-)
As I said in the video, thank you very much for all your support throughout 2019, it means the world. Here's to happy and healthy 2020!!

Enjoy your video's so much. We live in the middle of the forested area of Pennsylvania. Want to develop the eye to be able to identify composition when I see it. I do portrait sessions on my youtube channel. Couldn’t be further from what you’re doing here. But, man oh man you have some good photos. The long panorama style looks like it is straight out of a lord of the rings scene. Great work, and use of a drab day. Crazy how you are able to change what looks horrific for photos and turn it into a good photo opportunity!

I never shoot in black and white either. I do convert quite a few to B/W later in post, and manipulating the colors gives me a lot of control over the tones. Also, as I've said before, I don't crop in camera mostly because my compositions almost never fit standard formats. But what works well for you in your photography is what matters. * "Hi Meg!"

Hi, beautiful work. Thank you for sharing. I’m sure you work on a full frame. I have a cropped sensor, so your answer to my question may not even apply to what I can do, but I’m curious about how you know what your crop is going to look like, how much of the frame to fill. Sometime it seems that “filling the frame with the subject” is not really the way to go.
