@@GeorgMierau I think you're right, it looks like the cap of the horn has been pieced on in that spot! Very observant! (But it's still a VERY beautiful guitar in my opinion.)

It's great. Mooer makes good shit at a great cost. The red truck is legit. I can't tell you how many times I see guys using them at live gigs. This one will probably be even more used because of the compressor and eq. If we can figure out how to modify the Hi Gain section to be more usable, or traditional distortion sounding, this is the best bang for buck hands down. Mooer stuff is insanely good. I like that they used all their best stuff in this. Yellow comp, trelicopter, eleclady, green mile, etc.

@@LeviBulger personally I think the high gain is good as is. Its personal preference if u like old school tones like Metallica, pantera, slayer, carcass and death metal then it's great cuz it can nail all those tones pretty well and why would u not want those brutal tones that this is capable of doing out of the box

@@boneworksofc.7333 Well, in my experience anything that does ''metal'' in pedal form doesn't sound great live at all. I think it would be better if they used something like their Black Secret (Rat) for a lead tone while using amp gain for heavy riffing. I actually have the Black Truck and it's great for a grab and go thing, but I would personally never use the drive section on it because it's just too fizzy even at low settings. With the delay going, it's not really a bad lead sound but it doesn't sound big. Like it takes away from the amp's headroom. So, for me.... again, personal preference... I would love it if it just did a nice overdrive to push my Marshall a tad more. And on my Fender it's just unusable. Still, not a bad little piece of gear. Still nice bang for buck either way. I haven't cracked it open yet, but I've been wanting to modify the gain section by removing a few pieces to see if I can lower the gain or remove some of that shrill high end. But all in all, I agree it does do a pretty good hair metal thing on its own.

@@LeviBulger I could see what u mean for leads but I'm not a lead guitarist haha I only have one clean setting but that's just for intros and clean parts in the song that switch from distortion. But the distortion being so crazy on high end is my preference since I like the Metallica, pantera, carcass type of guitar tone soo for me it chugs hard giving me that super treblely, ice pick like tone that I personally love

@@theoneeyedmilkman1517 I have used the 4 cable method also I have gone direct into a clean amp both with great results . On the High Gain I really pull it back and then use the EQ in post mode , level up a bit for a boost and scoop the mids a bit for a very good soloing tone. The OD I crank the gain quite a bit and get a great 70's hard rock tone. Its great for dialing tones needed for the gig and best of all fits in the gig bag for light travel......

I like the red truck a lot . almost bought one recently to use at gigs instead of lugging the big expensive board around. Glad I waited, cuz this has a comp and an important EQ. You need to get one of these too!

Right on.. I use both the Richie Kotzen Fly Rid and sometimes the Plexi Fly Rig. Both are right on.

I am not really keen on the dirt side of it. I think the black truck is better. The Red Truck seems a bit dark for me, but it is a fab pedal all around. Super well made.

Interesting. My good friend uses his red truck entirely through the fx loop of his amp, including the gain and swears by it. I personally like the green mile pedal, which is what I think the red truck has. Not entirely sure. But anyway, yeah try doing that sometime if your amp has a loop. His band plays Zeppelin, Floyd, and guns and roses covers with just the red truck, a big muff, and a Marshall DSL and it's all incredibly convincing. Especially the Zeppelin.

Can this not be used for bass? Anyway, I have to agree - Ive been looking at many multi effects pedals for bass and the Black Truck is the only one with a substantial distortion and the seemingly right sounds that at least I would like. Against the Tech 21, Trace Transit and Nux Cerberus, this is also the only one that has a headphone out and line in along with the tuner. But if they tuned it and made it for bass it might be an almost automatic purchase.

And after 5 months it died. Completely stopped working. Didn't' mistreat it or throw it around. I "baby" my gear.

And now it works again. No clue why, but I am glad. I do like this pedal.

I think they based it off the blade, which is basically a rip off the EHX Metal Muff, which is one of the best metal pedal in its price range (it completely smashes the metal zone in my opinion)

That would be cool. I love the metal muff. It can actually do a good Gilmour tone with the right setting along with a gnarly metal tone. This sounds more like a distortion than a fuzz tho, doesn't it? I have never heard the blade so maybe it is more like a distortion than a fuzz.

Maybe the rage machine, or one of the tens of thousands distortion they have :p but it sounds a lot like what I've heard of the Metal Muff, maybe you're mistaking with the Big Muff, which is the best pedal ever

Beauty Through Art of Music Yeah I know what a muff is. I've owned dozens of them and another dozen clones. Skreddy and basic audio are my go to for actual fuzz. I do like the metal muff, but would rather use a standard muff over it any day. I'm probably gonna pick one of these trucks up and open it to see if I can swap the circuit out fir a fuzz circuit or maybe even something like an OCD. Maybe even a micro preamp pedal. Hopefully the circuitry inside aloows for that!

I love Tech 21. I have the Paul Landers and Ritchie Kotzen flyrigs, both amazing. But I also have this Black Truck and it also sounds amazing. For a metal tone, you have to put the EQ section in post which gives you much better tonal scope. It can sound very amp like. To record, I use the Left and Right outputs directly into the audio interface and use my own IRs. Simple way to make it sound awesome
