my rear end also sat low even with the BB in , so i used air shock to even it out , but it put a lot of load and stress on them ,wearing off the bushings ., when changed to hd coils springs it lifted it enough and didn't need them anymore.so replaced with gas kyb shocks ,
Assuming you've been able to put miles on the car, how are you liking the trailing arms? I bought the same ones for my 67 project and they look well built, but I don't like how the springs are going to be held in place by only a small piece of metal
I can’t say if the trailing arms themselves are better, but when I added the rear sway bar there was a SIGNIFICANT reduction in body roll just in daily driving. As for the spring? It never moved for me but I had to re-tighten the piece of metal on the bottom a couple times now
Nevermind, I see them now and read the last comment before mine. I am doing the same thing to my '66. I have replaced the springs already and used the same ones you have. I was worried about the hold down's for the springs and see you had to re-tighten them. Air shocks are probably next for mine as well. Thanks for making this video. It has helped me a lot.
Yes I did install it. It was significant. I felt like it was gripping the road and turning where I wanted to go instead of trying to throw me the other way. I couldn’t believe how much of a difference it made
@@iowadiy6361 my '68 has a ten bolt rear end with the three link setup (only one upper control arm), but both '67s have the four link setup (two upper control arms). The 67 Sport Coupe also has a ten bolt rear end, but the 67 Sport Sedan has a twelve bolt rear end. They sure had lots of different configurations in a short span of years!
@@iowadiy6361 on my '67 Sport Sedan I went with boxed upper and lower control arms, but a different brand than you used. Also I had to use an adjustable panhard rod, because the rear was shifted more to the driver's side. The adjustment corrected the issue with tires being too close to the inner fender well on the driver's side. I think the brand used was Pure Muscle Technologies.
It’s holding up great. I’ve put about 5k on it the past two years and haven’t had any issues. I can say that the best improvement I made was adding the rear sway bar
I do not turn wrenches anymore (I got too old). I have a 70 Impala, 31K actual unmolested not rolled over miles. All original 350 2BBL, TH350, 10 bolt, original shiny gold paint and the original mint black vinyl top. I am in E. Tn. Anybody local that will do the install for me? I already spoke with Eaton Detroit Spring (the original spring manufacture for the car) they have a replacement (F41 performance/Police package) spring set with progressive springs for the rear. I also want to add the rear sway bar. Eventually I will add HEI and I have an original (like new) mint shiny Winters Foundry Snowflake LT1 Aluminum intake I want to add with a 4BBLamd factory dual snorkel air cleaner and LT1 valve covers.
