Easy: it just needs rack ears attachable to the sides, so that all those modules can be mounted in a standard 19" rack. For the Behringer desktop synths, such rack ears are available (in two sizes, as the Behringer modules come in two widths- 70 or 80 HP).
@@fiddlestickzmuzik To use the example of the aforementioned Behringer desktop modules (Model D, K2, Neutron etc.): they aren't 19 inches wide either, but slightly narrower (Model D is roughly 14.6", Neutron is 16.7" wide). The trick is that the optionally available rack ears are to be attached to the sides of the modules and are sufficiently wide in order to bridge the gap to the 19 inches needed for rack mounting. Moog has even done something like that in the past - they offered rack ears for the Miniatur / Sirin, which is even narrower.
New suits calling the shots is showing. They’d be releasing two new modulars in way too close proximity. Each will be drawing away attention from the other.
Spectravox isn’t going to sell too many units, its more of an effect than a vocoder. This one is way more compelling to modular buyers tbh, with the dual-osc and the wavefolder and the playable shift registers
I think I get you. At some point it's so niche that they're almost selling expensive toys as apposed to gear that a more general producer might use. The spectravox sounds cool for example, but it's an effect for people who've already bought into the moog ecosystem (otherwise you'd by a cheaper vocoder, if you really needed one)
