Wow, I've seen a half-dozen or so demos of the Matriarch, and it seriously appears that it has a sweet spot a mile wide. It just sounds extraordinary no matter what anyone inputs to it. I think an interesting challenge would be finding someone who could make it sound BAD. Anyway, I'm getting one.

Awwww I love it! It's top of Superbooth for me. My kind of synth. I just love the sound and it's got the Moog workflow so I know that I'll know how to operate it from the off. I can see you are having a lot of fun in this video so I can just imagine how much fun I'm going to have with it. I finally caved and preordered one and I can’t wait. I’ve been deliberating for a while because it’s quite expensive but I have to have it. In many ways, this is the synth of my dreams. Paraphonic Moog, semi modular, nice sequencer, dual stereo filters and VCAs, it’s got it all.

Tonewise the Matriarch is excellent, raw, big, and in ya face coupled with a well balanced level of functionality and modular expansion, what more can you ask for ? (Well... someone to buy one for you of course). Anyway thanks for the share Bo, very refreshing to hear.

I love how good this synth sounds before any patch cables get implemented. (But of course I want to explore everything with the patching options.) I'm going to purchase one this summer!

A wonderful synth-true to its roots of electronic sound synthesis. But I'm dismayed that it has no capacity for presets! LOL..Well That's the only reason I am hesitating buying one. My Sub 37 of course can store a creaiton, but this one cannot. O well! It sounds beautiful, and my joy is that you demonstrated it so well! Thank you so very much!

My Mother 32, DFAM, and Grandmother need there Matriarch in order to feel complete. Really don’t wanna drop 2gs but it’s almost wrong for me to keep them apartment.

Man... These vids do me in. I have owned a Moog Source for over 25 years, bit the more i get further into modular and all of my other gear, the more of a hindrance the Moog becomes. I could probably sell it and have enough to buy a couple of new Moog products with better connectivity etc, but the nostalgia keeps me holding on! 😁😬

Between this, the Udo Super 6, and the Summit I have no idea what to get. Right now the Super 6 has the #1 spot but this has TONS of patch points and does the whole KORG Mono/Poly type thing which is lovely. Or I can go bankrupt and get this and the Super 6 😅🙃

Beautiful jams, with that silky Moog sound coming through. Makes me miss my Little Phatty. I sold it for heroin. And by heroin I mean eurorack modules. My Minibrute 2s and 6U rack combo can do anything in the world now, except sound like this. Sometimes you have to choose.

All you need are two DFAMs (and an expert sleepers fh-2 to route your keyboard midi paraphonically) and, combined with your existing eurorack, you’ve basically got this. DO IT.

Subbed! That was beautiful. I decided to buy myself a Nektar Impact LX88+ midi controller recently, with the main intention of getting back into learning piano after a long time away from it. I realise it's probably more of a toy compared to the things you look at, but I am hoping it can be a useful entry point into learning more about synths.

Hey Bo! Since everyone is going poly gaga over here I figured I’d drop this on Moog fan’s and you. The channel mylarmelodies recently posted an interview of Amos Gaines from Moog and he revealed in the interview that a few years prior to the release of the Sub37 their was an ‘easter egg’ that allowed you to unlock a duophonic mode on the Sub Phatty. I’m hoping you and other’s in the synth community may be willing to help spread the word and create some buzz in case someone out there has a Sub Phatty w/ the original firmware that may have it and we crack and share it or maybe Moog will get wind of the buzz and kindly release the duophonic mode in a new firmware release like Novation did for the Bass Station 2? Well thanks for any time or consideration you can give to this. I have a video highlighting the part where Amos mentions it to get the title out there as I found nothing on it and the interview is lengthy and he doesn’t mention it till about 1hr in.

I agree. Starting with the Mother-32 and leading up to this, Moog is just releasing one killer synth after another. I wouldn’t say they’re my favorite overall manufacturer but they’re close. The Grandmother is, imo, one of the best synths of all time. Looks like this might be even better.

Oh wait no that’s the dadamachines composer pro sequencer. It’s not a pad controller, it’s a matrix based sequencer like the tenori on or the deluge, but with a different feature set.

I've never played any Moog, but from what I see on youtube, it seems like they all sound the same. If I had, for any reason, to buy a Moog, it would be very difficult to pick one, apart from the price point. I'll never buy one though. I feel like you're paying the brand name more than the specs.

I bought a Moog Grandmother half a year agoand it sounds every bit I paid for it. I couldn't imagine not owning one now. No different than my overpriced Les Paul. It truly has an energy and a life to it that you can tap in to.

The more synths you play or hear the more you realise it's more then just specifications. Some synths just sound amazing. I think Moog is expensive, but you do get oscillators and filters that just sound different. If you don't like paying so much for the Moog sound just get a Behringer Model D.

I'm not sure how it's overpriced. It has all the parts to justify the cost and it's hand built in North America. I love the quality, pride and heritage in Moog's products. I'm sure your Roland is awesome too. I'm picking up a Matriarch and a Behringer CS 80 in the future. Happy music making.

your jdxa sucks compared to this....i was going to buy one but i bought the jupiter 80 instead. Love the jupiter 80 with 256 poly, absoloutly huge.......i have so many mono synths...but the two lil phatties chained in poly node give me what i need in moog. I run them through the four eventide floor pedals.
