Virtanen ja Kuusrock 1975 oli herätys aika monelle. Uskomattoman lavashown jälkeen kun vielä nautti Wilcon edestakas sahauksesta Dr. Feelgoodin setissä, oli ilta/yö täydellinen. Jotkut vain osaavat esiintyä ilman älytöntä rekvisiittaa. Samoihin aikoihin Sleepparit raahasivat mukanaan hiukka rekvisiittaa, joka taas heidän keikoille sopi erittäin hyvin.
1970-luvun lopulla Tampereen Tekulla soitti orkesteri Dr. Feelgood ja lämppärinä toimi ansaitusti Virtanen. Muistan kun Feelgoodin kaverit katsoivat esiintymisverhon raosta, Herra Moogin toimintaa. Verhot heiluivat vilkkaasti ... : ) VAU ...

Canadians are always surprised whenever someone in the world notices that we even exist. Perhaps it's the same with Finns? Anyway, I guess that covering a classic Canadian song from 1974 with this dubious 1992 version in Finland was just a joke? "A 3-minute egg" certainly sounds like a joke title for a much-beloved song here. Is it true that they were really singing about premature ejaculation?
Yeah, I'd say it's the same with Finns. Moogetmoogs was a cover band; I wouldn't say this is a complete joke, but it's obliviously humorous. The lyrics are way more clever than you'd think from the title. The singer/lyricist is actually quite well-known for his ways with words (he even made a really good translation of A Clockwork Orange to Finnish). And yes, premature ejaculation is what you'd think he's singing about, but it's open for interpretation.
Mauri "Moog" Konttinen's lyrics are much more intellectual than one might hastely think, and they are very difficult to translate to english, meaningwise...
Arttu Whiskars I'm glad to discover it was a parody after all. Mr. Google is not very good with translating Finnish but I can somewhat get a feeling for how witty the lyrics are. Now I'm curious why Finns find the lyrics to be so impenetrable and difficult to translate.
Often it comes from the fact that Finnish doesn't use prepositions (for a few exception), instead, there are cases, made with suffixes (endings). It's same stuff as the prepositions, just glued to the end of the word. For example like 'towards west' or 'westward'. Though they don't mean the same thing exactly, it gives you the idea. Certain sound changes have caused the core word, the stem look different with different endings, and few endings have alternative words, depending to which kind of sounds they are attached to. Like the shape of the cap depends on the pen it belongs to, but blue color is blue always (color like the meaning of the ending). All this means that Google mixes from and to, in and on, etc. Plus when the stem changes, it can mix words. And word mixing happens sometimes, when the G-ogle doesn't recognise word classes - which is a verb, which is a conjunction etc. In English this happens with the 2 like words: 'I like my eggs hard boiled like my girl does'.
