@@sunmimeb9026 Dude! If you're planning to watch the show just because you found something "cute" in this...I recommend otherwise...This show is anything but cute. It's a whole different ball game altogether.
*Jong Woo literally getting the shit beat out of him by Moon Jo* Y’all: “Their interactions are really sweet UwU” (Edit: this is a joke. Ship who you want!)
Completed this drama and wow. This is prime example of what happens when society deliberately ignores your cries for help. Jungwoo only needed someone who would listen to him and his struggles. I remember he said he was even relieved when the new tenant listened to Jongwoo's frustrations. I like how OCN deliver message through their dark dramas and they do such an amazing job at it. Truly, don't judge a book by its cover. Be kind to people. Hear them out. Don't belittle them and don't invalidate their struggles.
@@aria9557 Technically Moon Jo is dead by his hands. But , with the time Moon Jo became one of the personnalities of Jong Woo . It’s for that that when he killed the grandma and the cop (tried) etc.. we saw at the camera Moon Jo. Because Moon Jo is now a part of him
Am I the only one who LOVED Seok Yun? He was such a sweetheart and genuinely seemed to like Jung Woo. The only thing that confused me is that when they introduced him with that borrow-the-charger scene they made him look suspicious, but never picked that back up. I was waiting for some sort of plottwist, but then they just threw his character away. Really sad, but the actor was great.
@@anonymousangel2761 eah, I figured in the end that's what they were trying to portay. But I still felt like they didn't wrap his character up. Where did he come from all of a sudden? Why did he want to befirend Jungwoo? Just felt like they could've used him a lot better if they had given the drama more time to play out.
I‘m late but here’s my take on it: I think it was a genius choice, because we got to see it from the point of view of jungwoo (the main character). We were supposed to get suspenseful of Seokhyun, like jungwoo did, since he was in a vulnerable state.
1:36 seok yoon my baby, I WAS REALLY BEYOND SAD WHEN HE WAS BEING TORTURED AND KILLED LIKE I BADLY WANT HIM TO SURVIVE. I WANNA THROW HANDS LIKE FIGHT ME
Watching Seok-yun shout after Jong-u to stay with him despite the fact that Jong-u didn't know what was happening to him always breaks my goddamn heart.
Just how killing stalking is, this is no way in hell a love story, this is a thriller, and no way in hell anyone is supposed to ship them, he doesn't love him, he's obsessed with him because he wants to resemble himself in him, he's a narcissistic serial killer, he doesn't want a partner (at least not in a romantic way), he wants to own someone so he can feel even more superior, that's why you could say he was attached to the other way, but the only reason for that is because it's a tool he wants to use and keep for his own
SilentMenace 666 why are yall so adament on shipping abusive relationships? fiction or not, this type of shit happens to real life people and should not be romanticized.
SilentMenace 666 im chill baby, dont worry. generalizing viewers and thinking they all share the same mindset as you is too hopeful. there are people who arent well versed in stuff like this and all the original comment is doing is stating the fact that this relationship is Not cute. yall can ship what you want i cant stop ya, but let’s be real with ourselves. op’s comment is a reality check and minimizing the harsh truth of it is harmful to not only naive viewers but to survivors as well.
But the ending is pretty interesting cause it seems almost as if this character is well the main protagonist themself. I relaly believe the antagonist was a real person but after the protagonist killed them... he created the same person use killed from his mind as a coping strategy or possibly as an indicator of when he is about to kill again. Additionally aside from just attraction I believe shipping is fine cause it's clear that this character does desire the main protagonists. In just a really twisted way a very toxic way but still a desire for some form of relationship. It is clear this relationiph is more of a hey I see you have psychopathic qualities so imma bring them out so we can be partners in crime.
花木Joyce He could definitely actually be romantically interested in him outside of the whole “I’m a psychopath who wants to make you a killer,” but shipping people means that you want them to actually be together, and I really can’t think of any way that it would be acceptable to ship these two
Yess i also read the webtoon and the drama has kind of toned down violence rather than the webtoon. For example, in the drama moon jo stores his victim's tooth as a proof of his killing/torturing, while in the webtoon... well you read it...
My theory is that the whole ending could have been a whole metaphor for like this actually being a weird love story .I mean they do end up together forever after all and throughout the series the guy moon jo literally confesses to him albeit in a limited psychopathic understanding of love kind of way ,and he is mainly manipulating him because he knows he’s found someone like himself someone “special” to him since no one else has been able to capture his attention in the way Jon woo has (almost like a love at first sight) even his literal copycat keohyuk or whatever his name is doesn’t measure up despite him literally being fashioned after himself which if he only “likes” Jon woo because he’s narcissistic then he would have settled for the previous guy but he didn’t he knows that jon woo is like his soulmate (“you have the same eyes as me”). He also teenage girl creep stalks him and flirts with him at every moment having this be a sort of obsession kind of like a warped crush and I don’t think that he’s doing it only to tease him and drive him further to a breaking point he literally kills for him and even gets jealous when the new guy shows up and he straight up tells him to back off his mans and even the final confrontation was extremely intimate ??? Jon woo’s refusal to give in to his true nature is also him kind of rejecting moon jo’s advances until he eventually gives in. This shows the courtship process. Back to the fighting scene; it was extremely intimate maybe a euphemism for sex? (In the rooftop scene they have a kind of first date where they discuss how intimate and kinky strangling someone is) The director can’t outright let Korean audiences see them express this sexual tension in any other way other than this. Oh! and the super duper friendship teeth bracelet, all of that work to get it made and he just gives it to Jon woo kind of like an engagement ring of sorts. Just my take on it
I see some comments criticizing the romanization of the two but I don’t think it’s crazy because some scenes (proximity, touch, words) give the material for this theory and I believe it was purposeful because 1. several series play with the idea that one psychopath can become so obsessed with someone that the prey / predator relationship becomes sentimental (science and psychology may disagree but we are talking about fiction) 2. many of the scenes are visually sensual and pleasant to see because the actor who plays, the person behind the character, is beautiful and sensual and the series takes advantage of it (the only justification for them to talk during the shower is to show skin ) 3. the producers of the series know that this type of BL content attracts the attention of viewers (we can discuss whether it is right or wrong but the fact is that it happens)
THIS WAS SO GOOD, such a good psychological thriller, I need more stuff to watch like this. Though it’s obvious he isn’t in love with him, it messes with my brain when he calls him “Jagi” or babe. It gives me the chills but it’s also hypnotizing. It’s charming in the exact way he wants it to be, his motives literally not only hit the character but the audience. You can feel the manipulation and obsession. It’s amazing, I loved this show. Dongwook a great actor and I’m glad he’s getting the attention he deserves. He portrays this character so well. It’s totally wrong to ship them but you can’t blame people for getting the wrong idea guys, the literal point of his character is to be manipulative to the main character and the audience, don’t be assholes lol. It’s literally a psychological fuckin thriller, it’s supposed to fuck with your head and make you think the wrong things/guess things wrong etc. half of y’all ship the weirdest shit anyway. This is a safe space to talk out our thoughts about this show.
Damn I can't believe he played angel of death in Goblin and I loved him and thought he's funny and now that he plays human being I'm scare to death of him
This was one hell of a show. The ending was like WHOA!!!!!! I’d definitely watch it again even though I did find it a bit disturbing. That’s how great the script and the actors were.
I've recently rewatched this drama, since it was put on Netflix, I started to notice things and it just made sense. But just putting it out, as if it weren't already obvious, I do not see this as romantic, no, but the translations make it kinda look like it, normally Moon-jo calls people "Dear" or "Darling" but Netflix, I don't know why they put "Babe" I don't know Korean so I don't know maybe it could mean that too but in this context it makes it sound romantic-ish. Watching it I noticed when Moon-jo said along the lines of seeing the same look in Jong-woo's eyes, and a quote came into my head "Eyes are windows into ones soul." So it occurred to me that he was referring to his soul, but with that in mind I came to a conclusion that in a messed up way, Moon-jo and Jong-woo are soulmates. Hear me out, Moon-jo was already fascinated by Jong-woo the moment he saw him and felt as if he already knew him, I started thinking that Jong-woo though he was terrified of Moon-jo he knew what he was about despite knowing basically nothing about him, then at the end when Jong-woo finally accepted that were alike. I don't see this "relationship" as a reflection of each other, rather I see soulmates, so when Moon-jo died it was almost as if their souls merged together what with the line "Darling, you and I will be together forever" , I know the idea of soulmates are joyous and happy but they just knew each other the moment they meet. Yes, Jong-woo hated Moon-jo, he HATED him, that much was obvious, but no matter where he went he always found his way back to Moon-jo and the inn. Though Moon-jo orchestrated his actions but Jong-woo never really tried to get away, he could have but he didn't. There was a line where Moon-jo said "I can be anything you want." And out of context it sounds pretty damn sexual. I know this comment is already long but my baby Seok-Yun did NOT deserve what happened to him, I LITERALLY yelled to the tv when he got caught and when he failed to keep Jong-woo from leaving, I screamed "MY BABY!!! NOOO MY BABY!!" but I kept reminding myself he's an actor this ain't real.
jagi literally used in korean as darling , babe or anything as couple would called each other..in so many drama i heard married couple even dating couple calling each other jagi and yobo means darling, sweatheart u can check the meaning of jagi
I think Dear and Darling would be more proper, which I've noticed on RU-vid that other translation versions seem to use. Netflix did the same with Squid Game. Babe was used for everything and it wasn't the best word choice.
Their relationship is toxic but i giggle every time they had an interaction. The scene where he threw jongwoon across the desk and closed the door- 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈
I love them together, even when their relationship was pretty horrible and toxic xd, but tHEY ARE GORGEUS, and the way Moon Jo wanted to have Jong Woo made my heart explode
It's me, I watched this series one year ago and now I'm watching edits of this series maybe I'll rewatch it and yup I'm still hoping for season 2 of this series
I don’t care how crazy Lee Dong-wook is in this drama 😭😭 he still looks so hot and I would love if he was this crazy about me 🥰🥰 YES IK IM WEIRD FOR WANTING THIS TYPE OF RELATIONSHIP BUT ANYTHING IS OKAY IF ITS LEE DONG-WOOK
see the thing is that their relationship was so extremely toxic and messed up and i do not support it BUT the dentist really saw something in him he knew he was the one. it was actually very interesting to see a psychopath so attracted mesmerized and obsessed with someone. he enjoyed that jong woo was so submissive and got intimidated by him, that he was afraid, young, alone and innocent so he manipulated him to shaped him in exactly what he wanted and make him his (which is fucked up but at the same time attractive lmao) now i need the read the webtoon
I just finished a medical drama called Life with Lee Dong-wook in it, the serial killer, he was soooo good in it! I am definitely falling in love with Korean Dramas.
the focus of the story is Lee Dong Wook’s weird obsession of making/shaping Im Shi Wan into the same kind of person as he a cold blooded killer I believe Lee Dong Wook wanted to make Im Shi Wan into his sidekick and go on killing sprees together but he ended up killing him but at the same time his plan kind of worked cause Lee Dong Wook ended up living in Im Shi Wan’s mind as his altar ego and become his second personality, Im Shi Wan’s character was quite and the type of person that keeps his feelings inside but when he gets angry he loses it, that’s his alter ego it was hinted throughout the whole show ( the scenes where he imagined brutality beating someone before getting back in the reality ) even when he tried to went his feelings to his girlfriend or so called friend they would just ignore him and brash him off which made him into the perfect ticking time bomb and Lee Dong Wook saw that he wanted to shape him into the same kind of person that he was , he manipulated him plus the lady that would constantly give him drugs , in the end his alter ego ended up killing the 3 of other characters but when he was fighting Lee Dong Wook it was his human self that killed him in self defence after that his gf woke up and saw him mumble to himself he was choking himself but was hallucinating that Lee Dong Wook was the one choking him which showed that he developed the personality disorder, and he doesn’t remembering killing the other 3 cause it wasn’t him it was his second personality that Lee Dong Wook made , and he became his other half which is why he said “ you are the best creation I ever made “ , some people were confused cause the officer lady saw Lee Dong Wook at the end but that was her PTSD and he did stalked her before but it also hints us that she hallucinated him after talking to Im Shi Wan cause Lee Dong Wook now lives inside his mind in the end Lee Dong Wook accomplished what he wanted I do ship them too though lol I mean I can’t not ship them after him always calling him honey etc I wonder if somebody made a Wattpad fanfic about them lol
I keep coming back to your video ever since I've finished the show. How to move on from this drama... Best one I've watched in years. And the relationship between Jong Woo and Moon Jo was fascinating.
Honestly the actors in this series did a fantastic job. Especially that one part when Jong Woo was about to fight his "friend" then he saw Moon Jo and completely froze. The whole cast deserves a standing ovation. Like . . . wow
I love how everyone in the comments are shipping them just because of the whole "honey" situation...anyways His manipulating skills are off the charts! Like the way he just played with the boy's mind and made him his best "creation" is sick!
"This is the story I've been writing since I moved into this studio." 👀 I love thrillers, suspense, horror genres. I'm glad I watched this show, couldn't stop watching from the start... thanks for the thrills LDW & IS 🤘🏽
We're literally all attached to Mun Jo character! He's a psychopath, but the character is nailed by LDW!! The chemistry between the two is amazing! Like we'll know that he want Jung Woo to be his partner and become a murder , he provokes the poor guy! But still we love the scenes between them:》The bgm is something on other level ! Shinchaeyo, this serial was exhilarating!!!
Isn't it called strangers from hell? Edit: I found it so sad for his friend. Because he was the only 'normal' one and he was kind and everything, he really didn't deserve to die and to get involved in this whole stuff.
I actually, thought it would be a romance and started watching it, because of this. Little did I know, that the story was this kind of story. Shook, but amazed. Now only Yong Woo is a masterpiece, the whole series is🤯😯
People concerned about these two being shipped.... Y'all don't see the difference between irl and fiction? It's like those parents that believe games make their kids violent psychopaths
I really fell for two psychopaths: Hannibal and now Moon Ju. Damn they are so charming and beautiful I can’t help but be in love with those bastards lmao and I’m not gonna deny it, in some moments it remind me my hannigram feels
This series was in my nightmares for weeks after I watched it. It's worth it but while I love this type of stuff it always appears in my dreams for a while afterwards lol
I was always hesitant/curious about watching this K-Drama but after seeing this video i’m soo having a marathon and making spicy ramen with side of snacks. 😆🥰🍜🍫
Saida Ali But I already did and lemme tell you I enjoyed it even more with the spicy ramen & etc. Was totally worth the marathon finishing all eps in one day. Also interesting to see a kdrama like this. 🙂🙃
To the people saying that they shouldnt be shipped together. Do tou know the views of KOREA towards lgbtq+ community right? Of course they will not put this as a gay genre movie/series. Check out the comic its bl. Also if this was between straight people (boyxgirl), youll view this as love.
This is one of the best edits ever... I mean the music is perfectly matching the drama and both are creepy and perfect... its great thanks for making it❤
Actlly,Im wishing for more season And episodes😢,i want to see More of siwan and LDW.i really love/want this type of series, owh and the bromance too😍,The bromance, horror, thriller.i think we will never get ss2😢 the series is soo goood ,hope one day! SIWAN+LDW =EPIC
Lately why is every "villan "/ killer so hot.. like kill me please but with love ! Wait no I take the kill me part back . Nvm anyway just say the be sooo good looking..
i must admit that you are the reason why i found this gem of a series and your edit is the best I have seen so far out of all the strangers from hell edits . Thankyou for the wonderful edit. I just finished watching the series and I came here to watch your edit it took me an entire year to forget the zest of the edit so that I could watch the series without remembering everything
this series really messed with me and my friends LOL it was deeper than the SEA. it really showed the true experience of getting gas lighted and manipulated. it had ptsd and also grooming! THE MAJORITY OF THE CHARACTERS WERE SOOOOOO TOXIC! oh man..it had me getting war flash backs xD it also reminded me how sometimes it do be hard to get help because in a lot of cases you go unheard or people don't believe you and tell you to get over it. and i know for korea it's even harder! and it really showed that dark side of how their society can be and fuck with people. realistically i do not ship these two LMFAO NO NO NO! but, is it fun to imagine them kissing at least once? yeah sure HAHA
Does not disappoint I absolutely loved it I felt paranoid watching it and I feel paranoid just remembering everything I definitely want to give it another watch to analyze it all again but I’m scared of just how paranoid I’ll feel 😝
I need a second season, cause at the end looks like he was the one who killed everyone there, so moon is actually alive? I’m still trying to process everything
I believe the moon guy was more of a projection created by the main protagonist to retain some form of control. He could have been a real person but not anymore now I think maybe the character has created this moon guy to maybe cope with his psychopathic qualities or In a way have inspiration or a motive to continue killing bec8ase he clearly blames everything on this made up character and In a. Way kills to 'kill this made up man
@@joyce1343 I mean, you can believe what you want, but Moon Jo was a real person. He interacted with other people as a dentist and later on too, like with Jae Ho (Jong Woo's boss) had seen him, the reporter guy had seen him, Ji Eun (Jong Woo's girlfriend) had seen him. Hell, even police officers had seen him, when Moon Jo payed money for Jong Woo's settlement. That being said, after the finale, Moon Jo is most likely alive only in Jong Woo's mind. I'm not actually sure Jong Woo had killed him tbh, but if he did, Moon Jo lives inside Jong Woo as a part of him now.
that love was insane, crazy, tragedy, toxic, but the way he calls him darling or jagi ...jesus..is kinky.it was love from the first time when he saw him on the roof.i believe lately the roof is a good place for a date.....
