Moon Patrol (Arcade) Playthrough Longplay Retro game 

Such a simple and endlessly repetitive BGM, but one with such massive earworm power that you can remember it note-for-note decades later and feel compelled to bob your head along with it..

I grew up on this game...i miiiisss it i wish to be back 10 again and play it with my school mates🙏🙏🙏❤️

This was one of my favorites back in the day, possibly my #1 favorite (Joust and Galaga are pretty good too). When I was 7-8 years old I warned an adult who was playing the game not to slow down on the land mine stage, which is a major rookie mistake. He ignored me and few second later.... That is one of my favorite childhood memories.

Always loved this arcade game. We'd drop quarters like crazy at the local pizzeria trying to get to that next level.

I remember the arcade I went to only had a moon patrol cabinet with a B&W monitor. Made no difference, it still ate all my quarters. I can't imagine making it through the beginner's course without losing any lives...in fact I rarely make it through the beginner's course period. Regardless, it remains by far my favourite original era arcade game (and one of the few games where I can tolerate ingame music). I continue to play using MAME, Atari XL emulation , and a TI-99/4A, but I sold my Vectrex last year 😪, with has, hands down, the best port ever created (Vector Patrol) for any home systems. It even has a battery backed cartridge that saves high scores and best level completion times (along with some stunning 3-D cutscenes that could only only be accomplished using vectors. Thanks for the longplay...you play far better than I ever will.

Moon Patrol is very historically significant because it is first to use parallax scrolling in such a way! This game was in my top 3 of all time and still is. I would always make sure to run at least 4 quarters everywhere I seen it starting in the early 1980,s. I always wondered if there is a kill screen after I learned of such a thing from Donkey Kong. Great play through! There is a good working version at our local Icecream place. I feed it 4 quarters once a week when I get time. Thankfully it’s still only $0.25 a credit!!

I need this arcade game in my life!! I’ve never found a great port of it.

The musical theme to this game is like an earworm I can't get out of my head.

Imagine a 3D side scrolling version of this game today, I would sure buy it as long as the sound track is awesome!!!!

Loved this game in the 80's, it was my roommate's favorite game. He called it "Moon Unit". Never saw anyone get this high of a score though, good job!

Waaaay a long time ago when my band would warm-up before a show our bass player will play the Moon Patrol theme. And I would simulate the sound of the buggy jumping on my guitar.
