The magnetics in this one are so unique! I also love how much of a game changer that 30 lb magnet is. I almost exclusively go with the Velvet effect these days.
Its so funny how our opinions are so different! I want to be buried with Curiosity's Trap because I love it so much! Really great job trying to dupe them, as you made some genius comparisons. Also I'd love to learn more about your camera setup because the quality of your video is just so amazing!

You probably get sick of hearing this but your comparisons are always so informative 👏🥳 I love seeing how polishes can look so similar in the bottle but then you start moving your fingers or changing lighting - you show all the unique differences so well 👏

Thank you for all the great comparisons! Just a note: Alien Invasion isn't dearly departed! It has been out of stock for a while, but it still has the "notify me" button for when it'll come back eventually. Maybe it will be included in the next round of DD since we now have this new green multichrome.

@@PolishedYogi my theory is that it is a replacement and they'll also discontinue Dragon Scales and Supervillain since we now have those colors as smooth multichromes too!
The magnetics are really cool. I’m happy these aren’t LE and I will probably grab a couple on their next sale. I don’t have a ton of mooncat/holo taco/cirque because of their price point but I really appreciate your many comparisons, and it helps me narrow down my wish lists even more!

Great swatches!! Standouts for me are Forbidden Fruit, Root of all Evil, and Serpents of Eden, I just adore these deep and bright combos. I'll definitely be waiting for the next sale grabbing a few of these!
I really appreciate the uniqueness of this collection. Those color combos in the magnetics are so different from what I usually see. But my fave I think actually has to go to the glory of innocence.

Funny to hear you say love and multi chrome in the same sentence! They must be super special to get you to say that! Would you say that the Arsonist has a more blue base than orange? I have been looking for a saturated blue based red for Christmas.

I’m excited to see that they’re all relatively opaque. I’m generally not the biggest fan of sheerer formulas that aren’t intentionally sheer (ie jellies). Great comparisons, as always! ❤️
yeah the pigmentation on these was really nice!! i could see some being 3 coaters tho esp if you prefer doing thinner coats. but as someone who is heavy handed they’re solid 2 coaters for me 🙈

The only color I wasn't thrilled about was Serpents of Eden, even as a huge green lover, because I had just purchased HT Peridont Bother me. I feel like these shades are so unique and interesting, and I can't wait to test them out myself!

@@PolishedYogi I so wanted to live curiosity’s trap especially. But the yellow with that shade of blue. It just doesn’t do it for me. Too warm toned maybe? I wish it was more blue and with like a rosier gold.
Wow. The magnetics are so impressive. So opaque and rich. Like you, not a fan of the color combinations but great formulas. The multi-chromes are the standouts for me. Very interested in the glow in the dark polish too. Is this the best glow in dark polish out there?

I'll admit I was totally hoping for a Serpents Of Eden - ILNP Reminisce comparison to talk me out of buying the same multichrome again lol The Arsonist really reminds me of PfD's Spiced Cider, but maybe the shimmer is more orange in that one? I'm probably getting The Arsonist anyway, I'm a sucker for the pink-reds with red shimmer 😅
aw yay! i appreciate your excitement for this video hehe and aw i’m sorry i don’t have that ILNP or PFD 😅 the ILNP does look pretty similar though, it looks like it even shifts to purple in very extreme lighting? so i dont think they’re exact dupes at least, and yeah i agree the shimmer in Spiced Cider is more orangey, so it looks like a slightly deeper Con Artist instead of The Arsonist!
@@PolishedYogi No worries, the video is super helpful still! The natural light skittles at the end are always especially good decision helpers. I think Serpents might be a bit brighter than Reminisce, which is dark green most of the time, but it's hard to tell with multichromes 🤔 You're totally right about Spiced Cider and Con Artist! The Arsonist is probably justifiable then, nice
Ooo Serpents of Eden reminds me a lot of Blue Spruce from PolishedforDays. If I knew they were similar enough I wouldn't wishlist the mooncat one, but alas haha
Thank you for sharing this - i was impressed with What a Brilliant Nose's glow, so seeing you compare it to the new GitD (and seeingbthe new one outshine it!) really cements my need to get it too! You expressed surprise at that polish being part of this collection, but i think the green shimmer makes it fit with these other shimmers, and the online community has been begging for more glows for so long - it's great to see Mooncat is listening to customer desires! 🤍

Forbidden fruit is just 🤤 And yesss come over to the red side (lol) Those magnetics are way wayyy too pretty and I love how mooncat goes out of their way to try fun and funky base+magnetic pigment colors. Silver magnetic gets pretty boring after a while 😅

I enjoyed every shade besides the white. I just don’t care to collect GITD polishes. If it wasn’t for the full collection being discounted I would’ve skipped it. Besides that, I loved this collection and theme. Mooncat captures me every time with their inspirations and themes.
I was going to pass on all the magnetics, but Forbidden Fruit is going in my cart after seeing it in velvet style. I really appreciate seeing the skittles to compare the shimmers and multichromes better.

So glad you think so too, and thanks ! OMG no wonder I had a feeling root of all evil was familiar 😝 hm it’s kind of hard to tell exactly but I think PFD is a bit more of a brown base with purple undertones, vs mooncat being a purple with brown undertones if that makes sense!

thanks so much! 🫶🏼 and Pipe Dream is much more of a blue toned purple base - you can check how it compares to Delusions of Grandeur in my Cirque review vid! as far as the shimmers go, they definitely are very very similar head on, but Forbidden Fruit shifts to purple/pink in extreme angles while Pipe Dream stops shifting at blue.
Lovely collection, but I’m not nearly as interested in this set as I was/ am in the previous release, in terms of my personal taste. But I can appreciate them nonetheless! Thank you for sharing and for your honest thoughts and amazing comparisons!

Oh fun!! I am working on a new magnetics video but more so about tips & tricks, I do have a whole video called My Favorite Magnetic polishes though if you want to check that out for now, I would say Cirque is probably the best brand for velvet nails bc of the jelly base!
The glory of innocence reminds me of cirque's Gilmore girls shimmergraphic.. would have loved a comparison but thanks for the video and all the comparisons!
ahh i totally forgot about that one (also love that you called it gilmore girls lol!), but i actually think its closer to Pixie Holo! the shimmer is just more aqua in mooncat and i think its a little more gold/green in cirque. gilmore girls is more of a dusty blue/grey with pink shimmer
I know right!! Jelly based magnetics are sooo good for velvet nails 🤩 and I just didn’t love the shade of red, I preferred Your Hearts A Black Hole and don’t need two red magnetics 🙈
Ugh the blue to yellow and purple to amber magnetics are amazing, and I like the glow in the dark a lot... But did they fix their bottle issue? I'm holding off on ordering from them until they fix it for sure. That, and I recently picked up a fountain pen hobby so it's keeping me occupied (another hobby with little bottles of colorful liquids, oh my).
I think they have said that every new collection will be in a new and improved bottle (this includes the last Fallen collection). And the existing shades will change to the new ones with time.

One of my top 3 polishes of all time is Return of the Living Dead 2.0 from Kathleen & co and I don't think it's available anymore (at least not in Europa afaik). Do you by any chance have that one and if yes, does curisoity's trap compare? RotLD is green and CT golden yellow, but maybe the vibe is similar enough?

Stephanie, I need your help. I’ve tried reviewing your other videos because I can't remember that one bloody dark red from ILNP that you mentioned, and I can't find it. Can you still remeber that shade that you mentioned?
Hii! Hmm the bloody dark reds I have from ILNP are Sabrina, Poison & Carrie. Is it one of those? Other reds I have are Joy, Penny, Ruby, Be Mine and Merlot but those are a bit brighter/less oxbloody. I hope that helps! 🙏🏼

oof yeah thats hard to decide, I would say waiting for the lunar sale is worth it but i know it sucks wanting some of these for Halloween! it’s right around the corner too though and i’ve heard shipping (for a lot of brands) has been taking longer than usual
