“Hello child, time for you to save all these cats in a limited amount of time without any help haha, ur doing great” *child traumatized from killing all these cats*
It’s so weird how this game “teaches” you how to play. Like, it shows you how to treat a fever perfectly, it gives you the process and makes you repeat it so you know what to do. And then it just goes “Welp! Good luck with everything else!”
I love medicine cats and playing as one but I cannot remember shit about this game. It doesn't help that everything goes too fucking fast to memorize anything x.x
I would have been absolutely obsessed with this game 5 years ago. Medicine cats were my thing and I was making a list of all the herbs the books mentioned, but at the same time I could not tell you the names of the main characters. Only enough brain power for plants
Yeah same! 5 years ago I had this red folder I would carry around all of the herbs listed, and I would spend so much time memorizing them between watching Moonkitti videos. When I read the books I would roll my eyes at the cats like "Due jayfeather, watermallow for bellyache, if that doesn't work try juniper berry you idiot!" Unsurprisingly I always used to roleplay as the medicine cat and Mothflight's vision was my favorite book. Oh how the times have changed.
Cori, it's like you were essentially trying to become a medicine cat yourself! I always had the warriors wiki pulled up when I RPed medicine cats, because tween me could absolute NOT bare the embarrassment of possibly using the wrong forest plant.
same here! i remember trying to be a warrior once, had to mentor an apprentice immediately, failed miserably, then made an excuse to be a medicine apprentice.
The mentor's face is exactly how I feel Leafpool would have looked in the scene right before Hollypaw quit the training. "Hollypaw, you look like you've lost our entire supply of poppy seeds... You haven't, have you?"
This game is *basically* what happened to Puddleshine…😅 Rowanstar chose little baby Puddlekit to be the next Medicine Cat out of necessity/desperation (rather than Puddlekit being chosen by StarClan or Littlecloud, or showing any interest/aptitude) Leafpool had to come over to ShadowClan and give Puddlekit/paw/shine a “crash course” in Medicine Cat training before she had to return to her duties in ThunderClan, and hope for the best ((Then Yellow Cough happened and Rowanstar just expected Puddleshine to know what to do “Because you’re the Medicine Cat” (everyone’s lucky that Puddleshine *could* actually connect with StarClan and get help, if he had been unable to (like Mothwing) then everyone would’ve been doomed! (like the high score in Medicine Mission)))
this game has literally no end! i played for a few hours to make a video about it and got to literally 400 points with no end in sight. it was so frustrating. the issue is that the game makes it seem like there is a goal you have to reach, but you'll actually just be there forever. also, you get some crazy combinations. the threes are nothing compared to the fours, which there are 10 of.
Yeah silly me thought the game would end once you became a medicine cat so I figured I'd play it until I was a medicine cat. I hit 200 points, then 300, then at 400 realized "there's no end to this game is there, I must have became a medicine cat when I heard the level up noise and got the new cures". By that point I was close to 500 so I got to 500 and then just let the cats suffer.
Yeah, like it’s like “ooo you can check the diary to help u remember” um, no I can’t. There is NO TIME WHATSOEVER to refer to the diary because in the time it takes to find your illness and make a mental note of the correct herbs to use the cat’s already DEAD!
For a second, when moonkitti says “heal cats against the clock” for some reason my subconscious thought that sentence would end with “their will” instead of “the clock”. Ah, yes, heal cats against their will, nice one me.
5 years ago I had this red folder I would carry around all of the herbs listed, and I would spend so much time memorizing them between watching Moonkitti videos. When I read the books I would roll my eyes at the cats like "Duhhhhhh Jayfeather, watermallow for bellyache, if that doesn't work try juniper berry you idiot!" Unsurprisingly I always used to roleplay as the medicine cat and Mothflight's vision was my favorite book. (I posted this as a reply to a different comment, but felt the need to make it a stand-alone)
now i hope we get to see a "Medicine mission competition" between Moon, Sunny and Akira. Whoever can last the longest gets a point, and whoever has the most points after 10 rounds wins
Is this what being a Medicine Cat is like? Good lord, no wonder Jayfeather's so grumpy all the dang time. Everyone's getting sick all the dang time! "40 cats in this clan die every minute!" Something tells me that for the "clan" this game focuses on is exactly like that.
The adhd urge to memorize plant uses and combinations for medical practice because of a book series but also immediately forgetting everything after five seconds
Alternatively it's Rootspring for that short time period he trained as a med cat (and ended up traumatized since his clanmate forgot to wash their face after lunch).
I named the clan in the game as illclan, a large group of elders and kits maybe some apprentices that live in a largely contaminated area and we’re the most skilled med cat in the universe that can make herbs appear out of thin air sent by starclan out of pity.
Im never going to forget the real Warriors Game: The Warriors RPG MMO Actively advertised at the end of the Books, which was barely ever developed and cancelled uncerimoniously.
Game "Good, you can heal fever. Now your trained enough to do everything in two seconds." Me "Um, what? Could we go slower?" Game "No and everyone is dead."
I played this on a tablet which made clicking a whole lot faster. Also, I wrote notes for this game and when I came across an ailment I didn't know, I just paused the game, looked at my notes and then continued playing. This worked so well I got to 600 points and could have kept going :P
despite having the memory of a goldfish i think id be pretty good at this. i roleplay as a medicine cat quite frequently and i remember some of the herbs
the description for the game says the book will say the recipes *after* you make them, but it's actually there *before* you figure out the mix, which is nice
I think the main problem is the herbs at the bottom being in one row so you have to scroll side to side... if they were all on the screen at the same time it would be way better I think
Imma be real, since I've constantly been writing med cat Scourge isekais I might actually be good at this 😅 If the herbs were actually NAMED maybe I could do decent but yikes I can't visually identify some random plant
The story of how it happened: *(Leader)Stinkystar:* hey brokenbones do wanna attack attackhelicopterwithflamethrowerclan? *(Elder) Brokenbones:* but- my bones… *Stinkystar:* shut up we’re going, infact bring everyone in the clan. *(Med cat)Winterleaf:* *sigh*

I would love this game is if it didn't go super duper fast and be a mobile game to where you have to be extremely fast and memorize shit x.x (YEAH IF IT WASN'T OBVIOUS IT'S A MOBILE GAME NO WONDER IT'S A PAIN)
I remember writing notes at one point about what herbs were good for what, I would have played this a ton as a kid. Most of it's gone from my memory now though
Does anyone know if you can actually get medicine cat rank in this or if it's an apprentice forever type deal? I have the game paused in another tab at 300.
