We pulled away from the dock in Key West at 3 in the afternoon and headed out past the Dry Tortuga's to Pulley Ridge on the Yankee Capts! 🛥 Running 100 miles into the Gulf of Mexico we knew our arrival time was going to be between 1 and 2 am so we decided to try and get some sleep. 😴 To no surprise, sleeping was a struggle considering how excited we were. We simply waited up anxiously looking forward to the night time tuna bite. 😆
The first few hours of the night we battled thunderstorms and rough seas.⛈ Fish don't care if it rains so neither should we...we put on our foul weather gear and continued to drop baits down. Soaking wet socks, one mic down and a few lost fish later the weather finally started to clear. Through it all, the tuna bite was insane! 🤩🐟 It was practically a feeding frenzy.
