Nicks story is not like the typical entrepreneurial journey, listen till the end to Find out why…. hit like and subscribe for a new episode every Monday
The best creators live and die by the quality of the material they put out. They don't have to beg for subscriptions or likes. You put out good material, don't sell yourself short by begging for subscribers. It's unnecessary.
My word this was incredible. I'm not sure I've ever related to one of your guests as much as I do with Nick, Steve. Brilliant conversation and amazing insight.
Hi I’m just a regular housewife who doesn’t miss an episode every week whilst I’m cleaning or ironing. You motivate me so much by bringing on these raw, no bullshit guests who open up and tell us about their journeys and don’t just focus on the highs also the lows. Well done Steve you bring out the best and I always say to my sons one day I hope you get to sign the book at the end of diary of a ceo!
Me too bro , not by choice but because my union construction work got slow, ive been back to working union construction for a week now and feel miserable, i feel like im unemployable now,, after working a whole year for myself, paying bills and child support, i went back for the health benefits but man its hard
I saw Nick talk in Bristol about 10 years ago and he was so refreshing and honest. He also said at that time that TV advertising completely transformed Moonpig and that the TV marketing strategy was the last roll of the dice. He also talked about having a cheque on the wall and I wish that came out here! Great interview and demonstrates that successful people can be human too.
Love how last question was gonna begin with ‘you’re older than me..’ but thought on his feet and reframed the question to ‘you’re ahead of me in business..’ Bravo 👏🏾
This was such a refreshing one. The standard modern businessperson outlook of "YOU GOTTA DESTROY EVERYONE" has become so boring and stale. It was great to hear an actual normal human speak about their journey and outlook on life. Thank you Steven and Nick :)
This is probably my favourite one to date! Probably the best conversation on startup that I've ever listen to. For anyone that's worked in a start-up, it's so relatable but also so insightful for those going through a growth phase. Loved how open Nick was on this one. What a chap.
So much wisdom here for any budding or struggling business owner and Nick’s delivery is perfection. He would be an extraordinary mentor, in fact you both would.
Guest idea, Jeremy Kyle. Before you smirk- would be interesting to hear life after his show was cancelled but I’m not totally sure how open to the concept he’d be!
@@SuperGamingBeast1 51 is a very small minority but unfortunately I know many more would give it a like too. Very toxic that kind of show and I think he deserves no lime light whats so ever...bully boy, who's an ex gambling addict yet spoke to everyone like fucking dirt and all to make the show exciting...just praying on the less fortunate, less educated people and basically making a mockery out of them on live TV so he can get paid big bucks whilst he humiliates and ruins lifes and eventually the inevitable happened....not sure how it did happen sooner. The 51 people who liked this probably go to asda in their pyjamas on a sat afternoon 😑
Yeah its gunna be great to see young black entrepreneur ive been watching dragons den for years always waiting for the first one 💯 big up yourself im currently doing ecommerce myself
37:07 'Every meeting you go to, you need to be able to look people in the eye and convince them that your idea is right...if you can't articulate yourself properly, you're never going to be listened to'. You can tell throughout this interview that Nick 100% lives by this 👌
This is the best interview I’ve seen in a long time. This actually reinforced a lot of my beliefs when it comes to business and also taught me a lot. Nick Jenkins is definitely one of my all time favourite and inspiring businessmen.
This totally smashed my perceptions and made me my swallow my pride. When I watched nick on dragons den I was always thought he was a bit of a plonker but wow, he totally proved me wrong. Love how honest and vulnerable he allows himself to be. Thank you. Nailed it as always.
The content from this channel is incredible. Such a gift. If you're an aspiring entrepreneur, the clues in these videos are building blocks and drivers that can increase your chances of success. So much value. Steven you're incredible.
I haven’t watched all your podcasts but watched several and making my way through the rest of them. This was one of the best I have seen so far. It might be his story, his truthfulness and attitude to business plus how he communicates. Very engaging.
Love the statement form Nick about not trodding on other people on the way up if it's going to eat your conscience alive and the quip about buying a lambo... by the time you can afford it, it's usually no longer important.
When I asked my followers from different platforms what are their immediate financial goal, most of them said that their want to make their first million. So that's what we're doing today.
It's doesn't matter, It's how they choose to see it, what's called success.. But I must say invest at all times it's very important and helpful... I'm doing better than I was last year. 😊
@@pierogallo132 Speaking about investment, You're right that's why I had to start up investing in forex fews month ago and now I'm really benefiting from it, honestly speaking I earned huge profits more than what I was paid for as my wages in a month interval
@Jocelyn Maria Having monitored my portfolio performance which has made a jaw dropping $370k from just the past two quarters alone, I have learned why experienced traders make enormous returns from the seemingly unknown market.
Managing money is different from accumulating wealth, and the lack of investment education in schools may explain why people struggle to maintain their financial gains. The examples you provided are relevant, and I personally benefited from the market crisis, as I embrace challenging times while others tend to avoid them. Well, at least my advisor does too, jokingly.
Investors should exercise caution with their exposure and exercise caution when considering new investments, particularly during periods of inflation. It is advisable to seek guidance from a professional or trusted advisor in order to navigate this recession and achieve potential high yields.
This is superb! Information, as a noob it gets quite difficult to handle all of this and staying informed is a major cause, how do you go about this are you a pro investor?
Through closely monitoring the performance of my portfolio, I have witnessed a remarkable growth of $483k in just the past two quarters. This experience has shed light on why experienced traders are able to generate substantial returns even in lesser-known markets. It is safe to say that this bold decision has been one of the most impactful choices I have made recently.
Golden advise at 44.50 from Deborah for us entrepreneurs. Knowing who to sell to, how and why. Every penny counts. I've watched this particular episode about 5 times. Love this channel Steven.
This man is extremely thoughtful and grounded about his business and making money. This was really instructive and encouraging because it reminded me that entrepreneurs who are not ruthless exist. Thank you. My favourite and most intellectually stimulating podcast I've listened to on this channel so far. Well done.
29:10 he nailed it really, people who are creative genius usually suck at other things (replying to emails for instance) because they're in their heads busy, working on their creative and your email or meeting is just disrupting their thought flow.
Such a Great Conversation…. Humble & Caring CEO… giving props to others…. Feels guilty about overworking his employees when he is out there having Fun😃
I think that is great advice, would totally agree to try your idea with as little money as possible first. I worked on my idea in my spare time, as soon as I got my first cheque, that was all the proof I needed. I went to see my boss to quit with immediate effect, give my Porsche 997 back (company car) box at Old Trafford up, and walk out of my job. Nuts looking back had to get the train home with a dream.
Perhaps Nick doesn't exhibit all the traits we have come to expect from an entrepreneur. But one thing that strikes me about most, is that they all love learning new things. I think this is called a growth mentality.
Nick is exceptionally bright I would argue probably more than the average entrepreneur. He made a million in investment banking before even starting his business he's clearly smart similar to Jeff Bezos.
My Goodness, I watch Steve's podcasts religiously but I never get to the very end of the show. It's always either the guest is mediocre [to my aspirations or principles], I got what I may want to get from that guest's story or the topic just comes to a halt regarding keeping my curiosity "burning". But this show with Nick as a guest KEPT ME FOCUSED AND LISTENING ATTENTIVELY to prove that I finished watching the whole show, it was my very first time becoming aware that guests write something in a "diary" and the very first time I heard Steve closing a show. Well done Nick. He's very authentic without trying to be. Only thing I wish Nick answered directly was when asked "you seem content..."
This was so good as a startup business owner and a mummy.. I meant to watch it for 5 minutes and continue after my kids go to bed but couldn't resist.. gold nuggets taking notes thanks Nick and Steve. Inspiring
Nice to see Moonpig on here, great business. Should have delved more into his “5 years of hell” though and the story of him “breaking through walls”, than trying to prove that entrepreneurs at the beginning shouldn’t be putting there business first before other more (agreeably) important things like friends, family, health etc. Please can you next time ask directly about the process of being consumed by a business idea. A lot of this stuff is reflective (yeh i thought x before but now i think y).
I've just finished the podcast .. Nick Jenkins , such an inspiration, thank you, & thanks to everyone involved in the podcast. Take care, Best regards JoJo
56:00 one hunrded percent - you have to live the lifestyle of what you believe a successful person is and that will lead you in that direction overtime
Theres 100% nothing wrong with having multiple businesses. I run multiple companies and they afford me the most incredible life. The more streams of income I can add, Im happy. I do have ADHD though so being scattered is in my DNA BUT I make it work for me.
Well said, I keep several irons in the fire, I feel best mentally when Creating and I go back and forth with my ideas, however none of my niche business are that massive to demand all my focus. This makes me happier but I'm sure I also have some form of adhd or ADD.
I saw Nick at my local petrol station today. I couldn’t remember who he was, but knew I knew his face. Eventually, it came to me, Dragons Den! From my seeing him today, I found he lives just two miles from me and then I found this really interesting podcast. As an entrepreneur with an international company, I found this fascinating. Thanks Steve. I don’t know who you are, but will be researching you next and look forward to seeing you on Dragons Den.
21:11 - this is what I do for a living for other companies 28:22 - understand question and deliver answer in predictable way 37:14 - persuasion and sales is the best skill in life
Interesting interview, especially the part where Nick differentiates between being driven by passion or demons - after first watching the one with Barbara Corcoran.
Very surprised with this interview, don't know much about Nick bar Dragon Den. Super relatable up there with my favourite guess, totally different side to him than I seen in Dragon Den. Great guess.
51:10 Justin Kan had a really nice tier system to it. Level 1: You can eat wherever you want. Level 2: You can travel wherever you want. After which it's diminishing returns as Nick says here.
hmm hmm i always get to your channel by mistake and there is always something new to learn it always hits home better than going to look for it in a book
33:16 - "crying in the street" - haha! Have you seen me, Steven? Def. done this in the last 6 months regarding my business. Refreshing outlook from Nick, really appreciated this episode. Thank you!
