I just left NYC (from Boston) and I went there for Fashion Week just to shoot and take pics of people in front of the shows and do street photography to build my portfolio. I ended up not only doing that, but getting a press pass to two shows, meeting Kelly Cutrone, Christina Milian, doing press for Jeremy Scott's show and took pics of Tyga, Rita Ora, Tinashe etc. I snuck in some but hey I did it. It's all about having an idea and executing it by all means and being brave regardless if anyone tells you no. Because of you and Louis, last year I became a vlogger and now a photographer with a 5D MRK III and an L lens and three other ones, seen 27 countries alone in under a year at 23 yrs old. I want to thank you Casey for inspiring me and others to do what they love.
Thank you! Where I'm from people just don't get out and take chances. If you never even try how will you even know if your going to succeed? People love getting inspired but never use that inspiration towards their goals. I see so many people saying I would love to do this or what Casey does makes them jealous... Why can't they do it? You know what I mean?
But it's a start! Your in the right direction, a path that most haven't even taken yet lol. And your right about that, even going to a new city can make the difference. I'm only a 3.5 hour drive from NYC and I'm just now taking advantage of that lol.
Thank you guys I appreciate that. That's what life is about, inspiring and building a community in the world where people will have anyone's back that just simply wants to succeed. All positivity.
Just a thought here: If electric vehicles really took off in coming decades, maybe they could replace the majority of fossil fueled transportation. As we all know, electric cars are pretty quiet. Imagine a place like NYC fill with electrics cars, buses, trucks. That would majorly cut down on all the "noise pollution". One can dream, but it's an interesting outlook.
But how do you produce electricity? By using fossil fuels. We would have to convert completely to natural ways of making electricity or we would use even more than now to charge all the electric vehicles. Be it cars skateboards or whatever. I can't ever see electric taking off, they seem to be for people who think they're saving the environment but don't know how electricity is produced (I hope I didn't come across as aggressive)
*i read incorrectly, even for the whole of NYC to use electric vehicles there is going to have to be natural ways of making electricity or it doesn't really make sense, not converting the entire earth to natural sources haha *
+Thomas Goodall For me, even a 7 day vacation would be like a dream come true. Only problem is, I live on the other side of the world, and getting there would be more expensive then I can afford right now :(
+Anne Soho I took a 7 day vacation there early last month for 7 days and it was awesome! Check out my videos of it, I made a video for every single day!
I spent a month there earlier this summer and I didn't notice anything about the city like noise pollution. The only think I didn't like was the subways. I didn't mind being on them, just the fact that they were always fucking late and it took me an hour to get anywhere.
Thank you for including clips of both Sinatra and Jay-Z delivering the same line, "If you can make it there, you can make anywhere." The youngin's would've claimed that Jay-Z said while the old farts would've said, "That's Sinatra!" You just avoided massive fights in the comment section. Good luck with the Toronto comment, though.
+Jonny Kanthan I could imagine that it's not easy to change these windows. And it would definitely be pretty expensive, regarding their unique design and size.
You always seem to post these vids completely in-step to my thought process. I was talking to my friend about the possibility of moving to New York just yesterday (I'm from Australia), then you post this and now I want to go even more.
Well, they own/ rent houses in West London in the Summer, because it's a good place to live, but other than that, there is no difference between London and any other major city in that regard.
I finally got to be in New York for the first time in my life and I loved the city so much, I can't even find the right words for that. Didn't come to your office, because I didn't want to distract you in any way from the wonderful work you do, but still wanted to thank you for helping getting me excited about this amazing city in your daily blogs and even your short films before. Best wishes from a German "Hamburger", who is now in love with NYC!
Whoa, chill. Toronto has some decent buildings. Although, the famous ones (ROM and CN Tower) look like they were inspired by a night of LSD and shrooms. Still love them, though.
I've always dreamed of living in NYC, but your constant affection towards it will be the reason I move there. I wish I was there already... won't be much longer!
Casey - we LOVED the activity and with that came the noise. What freaked us out was how quiet the city got during and after Sandy. Higher than floor 4 or a few trees between you and the sound....amazing how quiet it got.
You said that you can make things and start things in NYC that you couldn't do elsewhere. Seems like the opposite of what Frank Sinatra famously sang: if i can make it there, I'll make it anywhere.
My grandfather had an identical tattoo of your DO MORE tattoo as he wrote it himself sometime around 1970. Very nostalgic and love your videos man. You are an inspiring dude.
+Pam E RU-vid has a creator feature where you can search the copyright policy for Ad-supported music. Ch-Check it Out states it can be viewed worldwide (except Germany) and you can monetize the video. I have noticed since Casey has monetized only a small proportion of the song is played. Naturally the owner can change the policy in future & only applies to YT platform. I just learnt this myself lol.
+Watermelonspice97 taylorgalford.bandcamp.com/track/check-it-out-heisman-remix-the-beastie-boys It is a remix by Taylor Galford of the original song by the beastie boys. Taylor gives permission to casey to use his music in his videos. 1:49 is where the song starts
Went to NYC over the summer (love it!) and inside one the Empire State bars (like just down the empire state) two guys over the bar told me "stop apologizing for everything, just stop if you want to be a real New yorker; dont get us wrong, we are friendly, but when you share so little space with so much people, you stop asking and apologizing for the small things like a stool at the bar and actually seizing the real stuff." It totally changed the way I see NY and all big cities and totally could feel the belonging. :)
For the first time, at the age of 52, I found myself driving lost in New York City. It lasted for hours. The one memory that stays with me was how incredibly nice, polite and helpful the other "local" drivers were. New York City may have horrible traffic but the DRIVERS are awesome!!!
I dont think Porsche really consider how you pronounce their company when theyre looking to possibly lend you money and cars. "Oh he pronounced it wrong, lets not fund his project even though its an amazing idea that we like." instead of being slightly cocky about the fact that you know how its actually said, just let him know like hey did you know its actually pronounced this way? 😂
+devilswithsugar It's a matter of respect to learn how to pronounce someones name. And even though it probably won't effect their decision, you should definitely do it before approaching them with a question for a big investment. Casey should know that very well, since he pronounces his own name german instead of english. For whatever reason.
Hi Casey, i just wanted to thank you for the content you upload and for being such an inspiration. Like you, i feel like an outcast in the area i am currently living which is why i have taken the plunge and decided to move to London so i can actually persue a dream in photography! I have spent the past 5 years building up my portfolio but everyone always shot me down whenever i talked about wanting to move to London, It's because of your videos that i have finally decided to ignore all the negativity that gets thrown my way and just do what i need to do! Thankyou!
My dream is to move there, went for the first time in May and I absolutely LOVED IT! I always felt that once I got there that everything will fall into place, and it did. I know what I want more than ever and my goal is to move there! This video made me miss it so much more. And the Empire State Building is also my favorite building gives me a feeling of hope, and it really does scream New York I love it!!
I went to New York city in 2007 for two weeks, and I'm, to this day, still sad that it ended ! That was a long way from France, and I'd love to do it again one day !
i don't know/live in NY but i love the background noise of car's and other random shit idk probaly just me missing the city keep up the awesome vids Casey :D
Wow. Unexpected benefit from watching my guilty pleasure every morning! In the very last shot, the street and buildings swing- I had confirmation on something big to me. When that street is being unearthed by future anthropologists, they will probably say what they say now," Ancient man was too simple, too war-like to build this. They MUST have had help from ETs". However, I believe in a greater truth: The hearts and minds of human-kind creates the most brilliant and beautiful light. Its the kind of light that heals people, illuminates.......I could go on and on.
"I never felt like I belonged or fit in this world until I moved here in New York City" That's how I felt. I never realized it until now but that was the feeling I had when I went to NYC and lived here
I went to New York City over the summer and it wasn't anything that I expected it was so much better I loved and I really want to live there when I'm older❤️🌃
As a New Yorker (NYC, not the state), I LOVE NYC! I love SF & LA, but after spending a decent amount of time in those cities, I would NEVER more there. NYC is filled with adventure and cool people.
"Moonshine in the office" OMG one of the many questions i have is why he uses moonshine in his Q and A's as a desk prop. and sadly i have still gotten no answer, one day Casey. One Day >:c
