About ImaGENation
The ImaGENation program creates space for Indigenous youth to imagine a sustainable future for their community and the opportunity to transform that vision into meaningful project-based action.
12 teams of Indigenous youth (ages 18-30) from across Canada are selected into an 18-month program that provides a culturally embedded ecosystem of support to plan and implement their clean energy project idea.
Each team will receive project-specific mentorship, coaching, cultural guidance, and a $30,000 project award to support their project goals. The project award will be rolled out in phases as Indigenous youth teams are mentored to successfully reach project goals in alignment with Indigenous values and community engagement principles.
Project themes are centred on clean energy as it relates to land, water, food, and/or infrastructure sustainability solutions that impact an Indigenous community. Youth participants are encouraged to conceptualize a project idea that fits the community best. It is helpful to think about the energy your community currently relies on, the potential renewable resources you can access, as well as any areas with gaps in cost or energy efficiency that can be addressed.
About Student Energy
Student Energy is a global youth-led organization empowering the next generation of leaders who are accelerating the transition to a sustainable and equitable energy future.
We work with a network of 50,000 young people from over 120 countries to build the knowledge, skills, and networks they need to take action on energy.
We also collaborate with governments, companies, and organizations to facilitate meaningful youth engagement and mobilize resources to support youth-led energy solutions.

Home, where I am from, where I grew up ❤️❤️❤️ The picture that is shown at 3:42... wow, MF in her hey day! I recognize all those buildings, the hospital and it's power plant, I see the huge piles of coal they probably used. This was a great place to grow up. Everyone has their own experience. Many families still struggled greatly, and many prospered. I enjoyed privilege because my grandfather was the Anglican minister here at St. Thomas Ang. Church from the 60's till 1980. I was raised by them, my grandparents. And although my grandpa was a residential school survivor ( was taken out of Fort Albany to Chapleau Indian Res. School, from age 9, and wasn't allowed to go home to even visit until he was 17!) he was a gentle and quiet man the community respected. He and my grandmother (both James Bay Cree people) were amazing parents and grandparents. I owe everything to them ❤️❤️❤️❤️ RIP Redfern (Dr. Canon R.E. Louttit) and Agnes (nee Gilpin) Louttit
