Moral Story For Kids in English | The Mouse And The Frog | Animal & Jungle Story
A dog saw how lonely Gugu was and befriended it.
One afternoon they set out exploring the jungle as Gugu had not seen anything like that ever before.
The dog looked quite disturbed and Gugu wanted to know what the problem was.
He went on to say how there once lived a mouse who he knew and a frog.
They were close friends and the frog often visited the mouse at its house.
The mouse shared all the food and provisions it had stocked in abundance with the frog.
One day, the frog invited the mouse to its house which was on the other side of a stream.
The frog told the mouse that it was always coming over to the mouse's house and now it is the mouse's turn to come to the frog's home.
The mouse said that it would be more than happy to accept its hospitality but the problem was that it could not swim and was thus scared of drowning in water.
After some thinking, the frog comes up with a plan.
It tells the mouse that it can carry up on the frog's back while it ties it with a strong blade of grass as it takes across the stream.
The mouse readily agrees and the next day set forth on their journey.
When they were halfway across the stream, the frog gets a wicked idea.
It thinks that if it were to drown the mouse in the stream, it could have all the food stocked in the mouse's house without having to be hungry for a long, long time.
So; the wicked frog started diving deep into the water and the mouse started getting suffocated.
When the mouse understood what the frog was doing to it, it screamed out for help.
Just then, a kite was flying above the stream and on seeing what was happening below stooped down.
At once, it picked up the mouse and started to fly high into the sky.
That is when the frog realized that it was also being taken away into the sky as a prey along with the mouse.
The frog realized his mistake and felt ashamed of what he had done.
He regretted what he had done but it was too late.
He understood that in his greed to get more food, he had not only let down the mouse who was his good friend but also put his own life in danger.
Gugu agreed with the dog that it is thus necessary for us to note that family and friends are important and we must share everything with them without trying to take away from them what does not belong to us.
