Yes! Deep Sactuary VI, he did sound a little bit hoarse, but still a great performance. Kamijo (Versailes), Shuji (cali gari) and even Kozi also sang some MM songs!
Covering any song by Gackt is a great challenge as we all know how smooth as silk Gackt's vocal is and his excellent vocal control in live and recording. Taking all that into consideration, Moran have done a pretty good job. They tried to make it sound different which is quite refreshing and I, who is an avid Gackt (of course a fan of Malice Mizer too) fan, approve this version of ILLUMINATI. This is Moran not losing themselves as they cover a famous song yet I can feel Malice Mizer in there.
If they did it exactly like the original, it would be a copy, and not a cover. I love this version because, although it has its major differences, we can still recognize the song completely and it was done beautifully!
I prefer this version, it sounds even more theatrical yet powerful. It's like an even better song! I came here from the L'oiseau Blue PV and this band's music is so innovative and refreshing. Definitely a hidden gem.
I really like this cover. The violin and the intro is amazing, I can't help but separate the cover and the original since I'm in love with both versions.
En verdad me encantó. Adoro a Moran y Malice Mizer... encontrar esto fue como lo mejor :D Sí el violín, quedó espectacular otro estilo más de Moran. Muy buen cover *w* Claro el de Malice siempre será único :3
I keep getting surprised with how much I like Mizer Covers. I've got to get the CRUSH albums!!! My jaw unhinged on this one as well. Loved the D cover of Gekka no Yasoukyoku too.
Qué buena versión del tema. Sin duda lograrán adaptar a su particular estilo esta canción, que sin duda es mi favorita de Malice Mizer, tanto por ser una composición de Közi, como por la temática que se aborda en la letra.
I was expecting something different (jazzy like every Moran release) but i love it anyway! is awesome and they did it work :) I love Malice mizer and Moran! :)
hell yeah definitely digging this cover ^-^ though I do love the original as well, I like the Post Hardcore take on it. I just wish it was a little bit harder.
I had to stop this half way through, personally I hate it. Illuminati is my all time fave song so I was dubious about it but... idk, I just couldn't finish it.
+xcrimsonstarx its an interesting interpretation, but unique as it is in comparison its easy to see why some might not like it. as a looooong time MM fan, i appreciate this equally but to be frank i'll give it extra points because it actually sounds like they're saying "communion with nimrod" this time.
+plaguebearer That's fair, like you said it is interesting, there's just something about it I don't like, not sure I can exactly put my finger on what though! MM are my fave band so I'm probabloy a little biased however I thought D's Version of Gekka no Yasukyoku was amazing!
Los instrumentos estuvieron magníficos, pero la voz me pareció algo extraña ... quizás sea porque prefiero la voz de Gackt pero en general fue un buen cover ^^
Ah well, I'm not really in favour with Moran's version, it's a bit harsh, in my opinion as compared to the original. But kudos to them for doing a nevertheless awesome cover ^^, the violin part is beautiful
I've been listening to this for a while and at first I did like it alot. I actually heard this a few years back and did enjoy it ... But there was something stopping me from fully enjoying it... I couldn't figure what at first until now. I love malice mizer , all eras from tetsu to Gackt to Klaha. Personally I have always like klaha more so it's not like I prefer Gackt's voice over this singer because I'm biast to him . It's that I feel Gackt's charisma always slipped through his voice and with this one I don't feel it. The vocalist sounds somewhat like him, just in the least bit, however he is missing that spice that Gackt has. Despite me not liking the guy I have to give him his points and admit Gackt is talented in his art, and this is in no way a jab to the cover vocalist because i don't know this band to even speak good or bad about it as a whole. Now for the instrumental. Holy fuck! Now that is top tier. I full-heartedly enjoyed the instrumental here more than the original song. The touches of violin were especially good along with the guitar. Overall I give that a good 10/10.
Uhm... Maybe they had the most difficult song to cover. You know... Malice Mizer were... WOW (You understand, right? D:). Ok, anyway... This version is quite good. I personally like the vocals, the violins, the drums... But I find it waaaaay too different from the original one. I think this is more... uh, "serious" :/
they took what made ILLUMINATI so cool (the electronic influence AND THE WHIPS) out and puked out some shitty heavy nu-metal try hard crap..-_- Yeah, that was atrocious. A for effort, I guess.
