Morbid Angel's best songs are the peak of death metal to me. The band wasn't one genius with 3 or 4 extras (I mean no disrespect to those who played in Death next to Chuck! Hahaha), but at least three extremely talented guys with an incredible synergy between them. There is something mystical about this band to me, I'm 22 years old, not many people listen to metal around me, no fan of Morbid Angel to be seen except for me, yet to me they are THE band... will they ever release something this good? I hope so, but I wouldn't bet on it.
At least three?!?! The altars lineup was pure gold! One of the best bassists and vocalists in death metal, 2 very capable and extremely creative guitarists, and a fast and equally creative drummer!
It is Reduced and it is Suffering not Memory. You can hear this in the live performances like the one below for example: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-n_YOa3Wwmhw.html
The most common and unfortunate mistake that has plagued mankind's existence has been the illusio. That you could possibly hide your intentions with someone whom is truly awake.
@@Quetzalcoatlus_Lawson when I heard that riff the first time I was NOT expecting it. Not in a bad way at all, it’s totally like a nod to Kirk, along with the One lick.
@@sabadrum Ah, got you. I didn't find that part peculiar in any way and I still don't do to be honest. I feel like it's not something uncommon for Morbid Angel.
@@Quetzalcoatlus_Lawson dude, I know very little about MA so I’m sure you know the band’s sound WAY better than I do and I’m sure you’re right. I just know that on Covenant that they used the same producer that did the earlier Metallica records so it just made sense that Trey put some nods in there to them.
@@sabadrum Makes sense. Metallica got me into heavy metal, the way I assume many metalheads got into it but it's been a long time since I listened to them, that's why I probably didn't pick that up.
@@cdsmetalhead99 Well Metallica still had some influence on Death Metal albeit not to the extent of other Thrash bands like Slayer, Exodus, Kreator, Sodom, and Destruction.
That "tapping" part from One sounds very similar to the beginning part of Dark Angel's Darkness Descends [song]. Many bands who play that style of music use that double bass part. Plus this Morbid Angel part is a completely different pattern from One. Sorry if Metallica is the most extreme band you're aware of. Name dropping Metallica in a Morbid Angel video is about as cringe-worthy as mentioning Green Day in a Agnostic Front video.
@@butchvito look at my profile picture and my channel pal. I listen to plenty of bands far more extreme than Morbid Angel. It was a simple observation, I didn’t say it was copied. Not liking Metallica doesn’t make you look cool. And your analogy is garbage, because Agnostic Front came before Green Day, whereas Morbid Angel probably wouldn’t even exist if it weren’t for Metallica. Touch grass.
