As much as I want Andrew back, it's not gonna be worth it if the upcoming movie where he returns has the same writing as Morbius. Hopefully Sony realises how they fumbled the bag with this, and actually put some effort into making a decent comic book movie with all future Sony-Spiderman movies

I did like Leto as Morbius. Yet everything was so lacking and basic. Plus the lack of blood in a vampire flick just seemed so illogical and watered down. I sat through Eternals and enjoyed it for the most part, but this one was tough.

Yes, I agree. The movie was good to me. The problem I had with this movie that it was moving too fast and poor character development. Like I honestly wish they would have shown us michael and Milo's childhood more and went into details more. I also wish they would have shown Michael's personality more. They showed Milo's but not Michael's personality that well.

I actually liked this movie but I agree with a lot of comments saying the pacing was awful. The actors were very good and the visuals were stunning - so was the score. But yeah the writing was a bit lackluster and the pacing was just bizarre. The Vulture cameo was just weird. Me and my friend just looked at each other and laughed after it happened it seemed so out of place. The line itself was just odd with the "guys like us should team up" idk it seemed so tacky

I only want Andrew back if it’s a good script. I trust he’ll keep denying a contract unless he sees value in coming back/it makes sense to the story. He talked about it so much during NWH press. I’d rather not have another Andrew film than get him in a terrible script. 🤧

Sony really burned him the last time and Sony is hiring horrible writers for these Sony Universe if Marvel characters: the writers that wrote this one are writing Madame Web and the ones that wrote MIB: International and Uncharted are the Kraven writers. I realize I'm in the minority here, but I actually really enjoyed this movie. I went in with zero expectations and hadn't watched any trailers. I liked the arc of the two friends, Leto's acting and portrayal of Morbius, the score, and some of the scenes that were actually rather horror-like (the scene in the lab hallway was great!). Also, the effects for the transformation were fantastic! I honestly can't see why all the hate exists for this film. Was it No Way Home? Absolutely not! But it was way more enjoyable than what many reviewers are just mindlessly echoing.

Agree completely. I feel like I'm the only person that liked it. Not that it was a perfect or amazing film, I know some stuff seemed off or poor, but I enjoyed it and Leto as Morbius was great, and some of the camera work was amazing.!

Yes, if you just separate the actual movie from the end credits scenes, it does stand on its own well enough. That's where it should've ended. Or tease a Morbius villain for a sequel, like Venom did. But people seem to tie their views on the movie to the end credits scenes, which seemed forced & raised more questions. Sometimes less is more.

Great breakdown MT! About Vulture, why do they need to use the NWH purple sky universe hopping when MCU already established that variants can be physically same looking with slight background differences (Loki/President Loki). Just use Michael Keaton as the Venom-verse Vulture and be done with it. Then they could have the scientist/engineer vulture with creative freedom. Just mind boggling.

Other universes/timelines were allowed the exist as long as they don't branch into other Kangs. So let's say Sacred Timeline had ten or more timelines woven into itself that means there are possible variants of Vulture existing in other timelines. Assuming that Morbius happened before Kang's death aka start of Multiverse of Madness.

This was so crazy to me because when you said that there was no blood coming out of that mercenary, there was in the uk version. In the uk this film is rated a 15 (so for ages 15 and up) so there is allowed to be a fair amount of blood and violence and swearing. So it’s so strange to me that the US didn’t have this version? I wondered why when I saw it in cinema it was listed as Morbius (UK) 🤔🤔 it’s much better as a 15 than if it were a 12.

I really think the way Matt Smith's Milo character keeps singing out, "Miiiiichael," is a shout-out to the film "The Lost Boys," where the character Michael Emerson is taunted/called out in a similar fashion.

The venom storage was referencing the spider venom that Harry later injects himself with. Having a designation like 7u could also mean there were different vials of it stored in different facilities.

A vial containing the venom symbiote was seen in the international teaser for TASM 2, but it was cut from the actual film so it could be a reference to that

Or different vials of the same symbiote but then the subdesignation U also implies more versions even within the 7th iteration of "venom" so im extremely doubtful its a reference to the symbiote. I need to rewatch the movie but I wouldn't doubt that it's even the header for the page where Harry reads about the spider venom. Yes it WOULD have been a good little reference to the "venom" but that's about as likely as Topher Grace reprising his role as Eddie Brock but in the MCU.

I thought the beginning was great. I enjoyed the scene with Morbius crawling on the ceiling, and then killing the boat crew. I really enjoyed the hallway scene where the doctor was killed. After that however, I felt the movie went a little downhill for me.

Not everyone is hating on it, just the people with a more sophisticated understanding of what makes good film making and storytelling. Some people like Indiana Jones and The Crystal Skull, but I wouldn't call either story a good film that is well executed.

There were plot holes, the acting was okay, some of the script felt unnecessary, and it was just loosely tied. Granted- it’s an opinion.

Well, my thoughts on the movie is that 1 its way too predictable. A movie can be good i know but it was boreingly predictable and idk how they did that? 2. No expression. I mean i had no connection to any of them. Like idc if he became a bad dood. Or that they died. As well as the face expression felt like horizon zero dawn. Idk how to say it sooo hope u get it. (watch moist's review, he did it better) 3. The action. It could have been so good. But half the time u dont even know where u are. So that is prob why its rated so bad? Also why its boreingly predictable is that when u like a character ur more there like no pls no but when u dont care its like meh idc so thats prob how.

I went in low expectations from the ratings. It wasn’t a bad movie. A lot of the scenes were way to dark hard to see stuff though. Cgi was heavy but not goofy looking like I expected going that extreme on transformations.

honestly Vulture wasnt needed, if anything, having Eddie/Venom meet Morbius would fit much better as they both exist in the same universe according to the director. Leto was good as Morbius and i wanna see him stick around, just need better script for the movie aorund him as his origin and struggle was handled well.

I was hoping Morbius would be darker and more crossing the line than walking it but he seems to have the moral goodness he had before. I know nothing of the comic though.

@1:48 I wanted to comment this so much: I am from Costa Rica, El Cerro de la Muerte gets it name because back in 1900s people migrated from San Jose, the capital, to the south to stablish coloies and the the town called Perez Zeledon - I grew up there- many people died becuase of the cold temperatures up there. The mountain range has the highest peak in the whole country, the Chirripo Peak at 3820m.a.s.l. It's a paradise! Thaks for the great videos

I like this movie the Visual Effects,the powers and Morbius himself really cool,but vulture doesnt need to be there,it seems that they could they cut vulture and the multiverse stuff to make a better Morbius origin stroy,they seem so rush to get the multiverse going along the MCU

I don't think this film is as bad as people are making it out to be, but it's also not very good. I felt very meh about it. There were a lot of holes in the storytelling that left the movie feeling like the intentions for a good story were there, but so much had somehow been left out.

In general, I think this film was alright. Visuals were on par (besides the lack of blood) and I thought the acting was great, but it falls SO SHORT when compared to what a Marvel movie should be. Sony really needs to either just release their rights or finally accept help from decent writers. They have the potential to be so great and really make a comeback, but their pride is in the way.
