That was a virtuoso performance, superb! He stretched the limits of the Morchang mouth harp. 1. The people who disliked this video are failed Morchang players who envy this performance. 2. The desc of the video is wrong. Mouth harps are made from a variety of metals as well as bamboo and the leaf stem of the sugar palm. 3. The Morchang is not LIKE a mouth harp, IT IS A MOUTH HARP. 4. Almost every country has a variation of the mouth harp.
Dang this guy is good, really good. Perhaps one of the best jaw harp performances I've ever witnessed. I want to see him perform in the U.S. Please everyone share this video and repost it. This guy deserves to be known around the entire world, he's got mad skills.
@@MyPalJimbo Check out Jamie from Bebbcorp Harpery. He's doing a lot of great stuff in terms of promoting the jaw harp here in the U.S., there is also a national organization that gets together for jaw harp festivals which I haven't gone to yet. They had to stop over the past few years due to COVID, which ironically I am Day 4 into having COVID....that's what I get for having a delayed Christmas with my in-laws who recently caught COVID. After I get back on my feet again I have a bunch of new Ukrainian jaw harps I need to make videos for.
Btw also check out a relatively new Russian Indigenous band known as Otyken. One of their band members exclusively plays the jaw harp on most of their songs.
this is crazy man. like 15 years ago i got my hands on a crappy jaws harp and learned to play it surprisingly well.. i thought... until i ran across that video you posted as a young guy. fell in love with morchang. determined to acquire one i found them to be rather experience for poor me lol. fast forward to now and saw an old guy on tv playing like an American style one and thought hey! i told my gf about this badass that i saw on RU-vid years ago playing one called a morchang! found that video easily and played it for her. she was blown away.. said i should get one! but then we decided to click on another one... some princely looking hero on stage.. as soon as it started playing i was like. ... holy shit! i think this is that same guy!! it is!! i said ohhhh ! i bet he's his skills now! and yep... badass senior! so happy you're sitting hilltop killing it all these years later my friend! now for me to finally acquire one for myself! maybe a recommendation? whatever the case namaste my dear! may you always be prosperous! Hello! I know a guy from the USA, he has a RU-vid channel and a Website, you can found him by searching "Bebbcorp Harpery", he sells some indian Morchangs often, hope i could help a little bit.
Can please give me any evidence about this instrument which was there in the Lord Krishna 's period? As I am collecting the facts that this should be Indian instrument only, not from any foreign country.
Rajasthani's are not Muslims. They are predominantly Hindu. Hinduism is the main religion in Rajasthan state with 88.49%, followed by muslim with 9% of the population. Other religions like Sikh, Buddhism, Jainism and Christianity are less than 1%. Why are you bringing religion into a musical performance? It has no place here.
@@mjremy2605 Because Apra thought that for all the might of the supposed 88% population, it had to take a virtuoso from the marginalised 9% (a khan) to bring out the best of Rajasthan ... Simple as that...
Holy fuck we are not even a little bit close to world peace... why the fuck are you just walking around being a bigot nonstop, the world doesn't need you lol
Wow. People who didn't practice for hours and hours on a morchang can't understand how difficult this is. Even understand when and how he is breathing as to not disturb the song lol Is this a morchang from Kheta? I think I recognize the markings !
The instrument is morchang, it is different from other mouth organs as it can also be played by blowing in between the two separate strings. It is prominently played in Rajasthan and mostly western rajasthan amd eastern Pakistan(sindh)
