Don't dismiss the Quarterstaff in Mordhau as just a big stick. It's an incredibly viable weapon. I showcase my Mordhau Quarterstaff Build right at the beginning of the video. What you need to know about the Quarterstaff Alt Grip is that it decreases the range of the weapon but decreases the windup time for swinging. That's really the only noticeable difference, outside of a few turncap changes that I don't really think most players need to focus on beyond getting a "feel" for the weapon as a whole.

I am 5 levels away from getting to 100 and I always build my loadout according to yours. Thanks to you, cleaver, falchion and longsword is my religion now lol

I have been maining quarter staff for over 100 or so levels. If u wanna do another gameplay of it, try no armor, dodge, second wind, acrobat in third person. Trust me. It’s actually fire

I bought the game a couple of days ago, never played anything like this before (except Jedi Academy). I immediately can see two problems with the game. Firstly, horses feel like an afterthought. It's very annoying when this one guy keeps if not killing, then at least ramming you. and it's not like you can really do something about it, except if you change your loadout completely to target this one A-hole for the rest of the game. Secondly, mauls. I keep hearing that this is a meme weapon, because it's THE slowest in the game. but why would it matter, if only the windup phase is slow? The windup that can be fainted or cancelled into a parry any time without real danger except for stamina loss. Otherwise it is a oneshotting weapon with insane acceleration that gives you a tiny little fraction of a second to realize it is now in a release phase and parry. but make one mistake and you're instantly dead. maul users often doesn't care about killing their own teammates either. when I first heard about this game I thought "wow, this is kind of game that allows you to kill your opponent with a a fu**ing rock if you have the skill to do so". But all I can see is a bunch of maul memelords that keep ganking and oneshotting you.

You're late to the Mordhau party, unfortunately. There used to be a lot of variety, but now people learned how to exploit the strongest things in the game (mauls and horses, for example) to maximum efficiency. All that's left are the memers and about 20% of people just trying to play like normal. If you kick the maul guy it will interrupt them and you can accel into them if they're staggered. Typically as long as you don't panic parry, accel your attacks and remember to kick, you can take out maul users. It's a meme weapon because it's so bran-dead easy to use.

@@EpicBrew and it saddens me greatly, because swordplay in mordhau is amazing when it actually happens. far superior to what chiv2 can offer. mordhau is also much more mature content-wise with proper mod support too. so much potential anyway, thanks for the tip. I'll make sure to try that in the next session

Yeah, Chiv is nice to just play when I don’t want to think too hard. I feel mentally exhausted after a few rounds of Mordhau back to back lol

You don't have to "eat" those accels you're talking about. You can usually see them coming of you watch their shoulders. It's not much of a window, but it's still a window.
