The delight when I saw Shelob on the board... the hard disappointment when 2nd turn of combat was over xD Just something I noticed for the Cirith-Ungol-Player: When moving one mini 1 inch back because you lost a fight only ONE additional mini can be moved back to prevent that the looser is surrounded. The only exception ingame are the Easterlings. 19:28 Best scene of the clip: You see a troll, camel, wood elf, orc and Uruk-Captain together.
Fantastic battle report indeed. One small thing: I noticed that the Cirith Ungol player often moves 2 models in order to make way for the model that has to back away after losing a fight. You can only move 1, and there were at least a couple of fights (possibly even the first Shagrat) where the model would have been trapped.
I also heard Jacob say that the Mahud raider doesn't get the extra attack when charging Shelob, but it actually does! Shelob is infantry so you still get the +1 attack. The bonus you don't get is the knocked to the ground, since Shelob has strength higher than 6
Also Shagrat fighting 2 watchers of Karna at 23:54 he is S5 and watchers are D3 so you only need 3s to wound, that would have been two dead watchers (and Shagrat could have survived the following turn)
Thanks for feedback, I do very much know you can only make way with 1 model, as most fights were off camera I think models slipped on the terrain and I was moving back to their original positions at no time was shagrat trapped from his own models I assure you. Shelob is monstrous cav and so does stop the cav bonus. I did miss the D3 watcher. Thanks for that
@@jordannewstead1333 wow this is interesting, are you sure that monstrous charge means that cav does not get the bonus? For sure it means that you still get the bonus then you charge cav, but I am not sure that it means that cav does not get the bonus then charge, shelob is still infantry after all...
Wow I totally didn't realise that watchers were defence 3! I played this army mainly last edition and didn't realise that they lost a point of defence thanks for pointing that out. With the Mahud Raider charging Shelob he should have gotten the extra attack but would not knock down shelob. Thanks for the comment!
This was a fun one to watch, Shelob got decimated I was surprised! I just finished painting up Grand Army of the South and this video has me stoked to try out half-trolls! Cheers my friend!
nice battle rep. but correct me if i am wrong. you actually dont need a jump test when going down a distance which is below the models height. at 18:10 you even spent a might (the last might) which would have made a huge difference afterwards.
You are totally correct! I mainly played my harad last edition where they had defence 4. I didn't realise they were 3 until seeing the comments! thanks mate!
Love the vid! I'm currently building myself a mordor army, and I wondered how do you guys do the conversions for the shields on the spearmen. Do you kitbash some other sprues? Do everthing with green stuff or a bit of both??

They are super powerful! Terror with -1 courage and fight 4 is an awesome combo. I have just finished some off in the next month or so they should be making an appearence when I debut my Mordor army
Shagrat had his shield, I think that turn the watchers may have charged him in which case he wouldn't get to knock them down. Otherwise it may have been a little error :)
I'm new to the game but I think i noticed something, when your dismounted King failed the courage roll to charge shelob should you have moved him up but stopped an inch away? Or is it the case that if they fail their courage roll that's the end of their movement before they have even moved and they have to stay still?
I cant get enough of Shelob lately lol My husbands army is of evil and now i need to make him a Cirith Ungol legion cuz I need a reason to have Shelob !
