Oh how I enjoy every video you do! I have been through the toughest year of my life and your videos make me smile and remind me to get up to my craft room where I can let go and create! I have gathered so much inspiration and education from you! Thank you for your hard work of planning, videoing, executing and editing! Have a great day Cathy Z!
I hope you can carve out some time for you and just get lost in crafting for a bit. It can be an escape from life when life gets hard. And it does get hard. Sending you a big crafty hug.
@@czdesign Thank you so much! It's amazing how the process of inking and creating is therapy for the mind and soul! After much loss, it was hard to get back into my happy space and create joyful cards. But I started by just stamping and die cutting pieces for cards that needed coloring and in coloring I found hours in which I could allow myself to grieve and heal. Also, your videos have always brought me such joy and laughter because I talk to myself while crafting and also say, "boop!" Thanks again for being so real and sharing that with so many!
Hi Momof5, This has been a rough year for me too. Crafting allowed to get out of head while I could and focus on something that makes my heart smile. You are in my thoughts and prayers😌🙏🏽🤗
Those gold tags are truly "golden" they are both stunning & beautiful !!! and your blue snowflake card was simply dreamy looking (sorry to all the folks that hate snow, this gal is not a snow hater) - You made me feel so good to know that I'm not the only one that can't trim the end of a sentiment strip and have it not end up crooked, I've tried bigger scissors, smaller scissors, bah humbug it's not the scissor size it's totally me so I thank you for your cutter hack it's awesome, make that golden like those beautiful tags. Love all of your projects today, I'm sure glad I don't have to pick a fav.
I actually moved my whole creative space upstairs into what used to be my main work office. I have a video for that: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-MZuebDbcNns.html
You're the coolest. Love all 5 cards. Your techniques and style always shine through. Sending warm wishes your way! Look forward to your next card sesh 👉
You almost got that pun past me Cathy! I do love a good embossing folder but sometimes I struggle to know how to use them. I have a stack of beautifully embossed cardstock in y craft room.😄
I also have had a rough year but you make me laugh and smile and my crafting helps keep me on the right track....thank you so much I love love love these tags....I have a snowflake embossing folder but the one with swirls is awesome and the pine boughs....yes!
Do love how that snowflake background turned out. It is really impressive. Like how you used it. You were right to leave it stand on its own without going crazy with the embellishments.
"Sometimes you just have to back away from the boop" I'm not sure I agree with you, but you crack me up! 😂 It's amazing what a little ink and an embossing folder can do, such a beautiful card!
I am loving the inking on the 3D embossed surfaces … love your video Cathy- Always. I just moved out of a house and watched your craft room tour for some great 💡why have I never thought bod cutting my foam strips like that DAH‼️💡
Thank you for helping me figure out the sandwich to do my 3D embossing folders with. Regular embossing folders I am ok with but really struggled with the 3D folders. Thanks so much!
When I first started crafting with a die cut machine, I thought Embossing Folders were nice, but kind of "one note" - make textured background - so I love seeing new ways to use them. One of the smartest things I've ever done is make swatches of all my folders, then go through and rub an ink pad over part of each swatch on each side. I then learned about inking the folder before pressing the paper for another different look. Even so, it wasn't until recently when I saw Jennifer McGuire "fill" the emboss with glitter paste that I considered that. Somehow it never occurred to me to emboss pre-inked paper, although I have embossed printed paper: my friend gave me some "card toppers" (thin paper printed with designs) that I snobbily didn't want to use as they would be the whole card front - I'm crafting cards, not printing them. I got the bright idea to emboss them and achieved great results. Embossing took a boring print of a nameless artist's depiction of a ship at sea and gave it great interest. I little bit of ink rubbed on some areas really brought it out. I then tried it with some magazine pages as well. You definitely need to spray them to prevent tearing, and they aren't archival quality, but are fun.
The snow swirl / joyful is absolutely beautiful, simple yet purposeful, all that “less is more” is meant to be. Thank you for your instruction and sharing your gifts. I hope you have an outstanding day and a happy Thanksgiving! ❤️
I am so happy you're doing tags. They're my favorite things to make in my time-challenged world and it means every gift gets a little handmade something that my dear ones all seem to hang on their trees, at least for that year and sometimes for many. So its' also a little ornament and makeable in less time with less stress and with a million variations possible. Love doing them. So thanks for the inspiration! ALL of those embossing folders are fabulous...
You absolutely nailed it! I absolutely love everything. The tags are stunning!! The paper is amazing. Your ink blending with those colours are so spot on with this embossing folder!!!! You rock and so do your videos
Love the embossing folders and tags! Leave it to you that I’m rethinking the mini trimmer. I didn’t even think about sentiment strips and those other little cuts we need to make. I only wish the had the 8ths and 16ths marked. THEN it would be perfect.
For my Empress, I use the bottom cutting plate, the 3D folder with the paper inside, then the rubber squishy mat. I run that through and it works well.
I loved all of these Cathy I love your sense of humor. You ate relaxing to watch. I also craft on my dining room table lol x thank you for doing these videos love them
Thank you Cathy! Yes, so inspiring. I am so into embossing folders this season and I am in love with your joyful card. Gorgeous!! I agree...no need for the boops on this one. LOL ;-)
Oh my gosh! Thanks for the inspiration... I ‘ve never thought of using an embossing folder over blended distress ink panels. Definitely going to try this!
I love the embossed tags and especially the beautifully embossed card! I have given up on my Cricut as it has decided to only partially cut out the words, happy birthday. Yes, I have a new blade, a new mat, and I also recalibrated it and it still refuses to fully cut the words! I bought a manual Sizzix machine today and am looking forward to making beautiful cards. You give me hope!
I've had an off and on love-hate relationship with my electronic die cutter over the years. When I got my first die cutting machine back in early 2017 I kind of fell in love!
Cathy, Thank You for sharing such wonderful ideas today. I ordered several of Simon’s new folders yesterday the 3D that just came out. I am delighted with how your gift cards and Christmas card turned out they are gorgeous. The night sky . I love that. ❤️❄️⛄️🎄🛷🧣🧣🧤🍪☕️
Oh Cathy! I just love your tags! The card is perfect, too. The Tonic Mini Trimmer was the first trimmer I ever bought. After I had it I decided I needed the larger size, too
Loved this video. I will sometimes tap my brush on the inside of the ink pad lid and pick up ink from there. Keeps the ink somewhat contained so it doesn’t get somewhere I don’t want it. Yes, I’m an extremely messy crafter.
