Look, 160whp may not seem like a ton. But in a truck that used to probably make like 16whp TOPS, our 13b swapped Kei Truck just wasn’t ready to handle all that dorito power. So we’re beefing up the rear with a Ford 8” rear, custom built just for this application. After that… this thing should be ready to rip!

Suppy is a fkn joke dude and if you want a full explanation just watch him weld the headers for the kei truck. Literally made all the ROTARDS cringe at making headers that aren’t equal length with proper collector placement. And then says he has zero faith in rotaries(why tf are you touching it then) that’s why it made tiny power and the nerds won’t shut up about angel like he would save this sad build, cringe lords getting mad over who tuned it

Powder coated wheels and powder coated nuts. I have the exact same wheels and the nuts they come with, and i know exactly that sound and that pain. The nuts get grease now

It’s NA that’s why it’s 160hp no flames. They would have to put a turbo on it and with the engine right under your ass a turbo is a perfect way to make a very hot seat heater.

Yes, ford in their quest to build a multitude of vehicles in different sectors of the industry, indeed built more axles other than common 9inch, 8inch being another, and an 8.8 and a 7.5 for the smaller trucks.

yeah the ford 8.8 came in explorers, sportrax,rangers and a few other vehicles. its a real popular swap for jeep guys. 8.8 is alot stronger than the dana 35s that come in the rear of TJs and XJs and it has disc brakes instead of drums.

@@Alex-pl1ye 8.8 was used in LOTS of stuff. bronco, mustang, explorer, crown vic, ranger and F150 as well as E150 vans. Lots of after market vehicles used it too. It can handle 5100ftlbs input torque, more than the dana 44 (4400) and nearly as much as a dana 60 (5500). Lots of jeep swaps exist out there, and industrial vehicles like airplane tugs use them. Good for up to 5.14 gears as well. Not too bad for the price. I can get them for 150 bucks from the junkyard, a dana 44 costs 10x as much, and dana 60s are near 15x as much around here!

Yeah it sounds unhappy on the dyno, it can make 200 hp easy at 10k rpm but only 160? They need the Vargas brothers.

I would have used an 8.8" traction lock out of a ford exploder, and screw how far the rears stick out. I guess the 8" is "gooder" than that 4 the kei truck. Suppy is a gooder than good mechanic. My daughter likes his name, thinks it's hilarious.

That exhaust is holding that engine back. NA rotaries require a collector. Runner length, collector size/ shape will make or break a NA 13b.

Seems like Vargas Bros coulda come up from Virginia to NY area to help w base tune. They went to Cleetus' (pre-quarantine) and knocked out Coop's Mystery Kei Van Dorito conversion and tune in short time. It should be strong enough - the torsional (twisting) strength increases with the FOURTH power of the diameter increase - that is, increase the shaft diameter by 50% and it'll be just over 5 times as strong, double it and it'll be 16 times as strong! The magic of math' 😎

If you ever have the issue with not getting a wheel off because it keeps rotating, wrap a strap around it a couple if times and tie it off to something solid. The friction from the tire should keep it in place, especially if you wrap the strap across itself a few times. With a rope you can use a Clove hitch (Google it). Or chuck it with a block, so it will want to roll up onto it, but the bolt will break loose before it can.

Don't forget to retard the breaks since you switched. If not they will all lock up at once under breaking force. Keep the front rolling so it won't flip

I hope they changed the master for them new brakes. It's my understanding that a drum master holds a few psi of pressure on the wheel cylinders and when u go to disc brakes they will drag slightly.
