a few videos back you showed how to break a wheel lock off in the crusher, been using that method ever since and it has made my job a lot easier, i hate trying to break it off with the loader that is such a pain when it doesn’t work. thank you and happy friday!
You are the QC man. You catch the rads etc that shouldn't be in the crush that someone else missed. The balancing act with the concrete was the ultimate "smooth operator" move.
Glad to see they're keeping you busy. I'm Curbsurfer from Washington state. Scrap prices are down, .025 a lb. not hardly worth going after and gas prices are almost 5.00 per gallon...best of luck brother. Also a vet, served on the USS MIDWAY and a plank owner,( one of the 1st 50 on board 1969 to 1973
Beginning of the video, Saturn Vue in front of the crusher (0:56, crushed). 1:39, Dodge Grand Caravan (11:10, crushed) somewhat flattened nearby. 2:10, Dodge Nitro (4:15, crushed) and Nissan Rogue (28:02, crushed) stuffed full of crap nearby. 5:31, messing around with a Chevrolet Cruze (6:57, crushed). 15:41, remains of a Chevrolet Silverado (16:51, crushed). 18:12, rear of a Honda Civic (18:18, crushed). 20:02, cab of a Dodge Ram (21:07, crushed). 26:25, after much comparing....Toyota Solara on the rack. Technically 9 tallied vehicles, some of which were partials but still identified. Crushed 8 of the 9 identified. Our new total is....2,843 on screen vehicles crushed.
Every car has a story and you pop them open to find some interesting things. I have wondered why sometimes you separate out tires/wheels and then some go into the crusher. Why the different operation?
It's customer applied. Some customers want some things and some don't. Also we have a couple options where we send the crushed cars. Some will take tires. Some won't
