I've been playing 2k since 2007. When I tell you the BASIC game mechanics are too heavily relied on by stupid ass "skill" based mechanics, it's ruining the game. Why do I need a dunk and layup meter? Jump shooting use to never have a meter. Shooting use to show who really knew a jump shot vs someone who just shot the ball. How the hell do none of y'all realise this?

@@tgreg9542 Most players who buy the game seek to play online. MyCareer and MyTeam are the most heavily monetized game modes of any game out right now. The no money spent players have to go through hell and back to progress in the game. So yeah, take two and 2K sports are the biggest problem with the game.

They need to make user input/stats matter. If a low interior defender keeps their hands up versus a high close shot without jumping, it should be an easy bucket. If the low interior defender jumps for a well timed block vs a high close shot, it should contest but favor the high close shot a high % of the time.
It depends. Most the bigs who couldn't be mashers this year have layup timing off, which 2k made really difficult. It makes sense since you're doing less work, but it makes me wonder why we even have that choice to begin with if it can make a 7-footer useless 🤦♂️
I just quit 2k cold turkey 2 weeks ago. I'm done. Constant updates that causes me to delete games just to keep that money grabbing peice of shit game on my system. Plus , with all the fake animations that 2k forces your player to be apart of is insane. It's like I'm watching more than playing. The nba need to cancel 2k the same way they did TNT. We literally begging for nba live to get there shit together.
Iif people buy it thats on them. Trust me i understand as a content creator you for sure gotta get it but atleast wait to see things play out. Because the only logical reason i can think of for getting 2k25 FIRST WEEK is to be the first one on it. Thats kinda it to be honest. Gameplay is unbearable I can’t even make it through a game without quitting cause it’s that bad it doesn’t matter whether I’m winning or losing there’s so many blatant missed steals I gotta watch zoom past me and my teammates , perfect defense for 24 seconds that gets bailed by last second bs shots , MISSED WIDE OPEN SHOTS IN AUGUST, park is still not worth any play time cause they stingy with vc, could go on for days but im utterly and completely done with this game I only feel anger playing this game and if anyone feels frustrated mate than anything playing this game you should be very mindful of continuing to support this game with time and or money

Apple got sued for this on their iPhones. They were slowing down prior models service as a new phone was launching, to steer you into that phone, and so that you felt good about your new purchase. Hell yeah, I think 2K is capable of doing that!
They do do it. They make updates in the second half of the year that makes the game feel crappier and crappier then the new one drops and it feels fresh bc they regressed the prior game. Then they cut the service to make u update
I have been playing NBA2K24 this week and noticed that players are making a lot of slightly late/early shots at a high rate even heavily contest shots are falling when slightly late/early.
Interesting thing you say that about them messing up the game at the end of the year . I’ve been missing more shots from the 3 then when I started and I was shootin a 65 clip every season this year 😂

If they give back to how it used to be where you'd get called for traveling if you kept pump faking. That will help too. You've got people who will pump fake 5 times, waiting for you to jump.
If you set your combos correctly , that stand still dribble setting might be a game changer nbs .. once you get use to it .. all u need todo is focus on the pas or drive after w.e animation it gives you assuming you can come of the combo for a drive …
hands up not supposed to be elite defense. it should effect the shots but elite shooters should still be able to green just smaller window. just like real basketball
Question: I played 2k19-21 I was REALLY GOOD on 19 and 20 Got featured on Pacers Gaming channel a few times. Just ok on 21 Sold my Xbox in 21 and haven’t played since. I miss the game cause I love basketball. I miss the my player builder. I miss having cool, laid back, non toxic people to play with. And I miss picking up and carrying newer players to wins and teaching them about the game, IQ and badges, etc. But I’m SO out of touch these days cause I haven’t played in so long. I’m getting an Xbox 1 X series soon and would like to start playing again but it worries me that everything is just so toxic these days and the game is too trash to have fun on. Any cool people out there left to run with who have in game IQ but also won’t freak the F out when we lose cause it’s just a video game? I don’t do My Team at all. Really just My Career, Park, Rec, etc. So besides buying the game and building my 1st player. I’m not giving them any extra money for VC. I’m just not. I refuse lol Is there still fun to be had? Of course 2k leaves games broken so you can have more incentive to buy the next one, every single 2k there has been either a bug or gameplay related cheese or issue that we have all experienced that leads us to say “oh I’ll just wait for the next 2k” then you delete the game until the next one comes out happens every year. Even one of the best 2ks 2k19 had the shooting bigmen who 2k never wanted to patch no matter how bad we complained, then they are patched in 2k20 like huh. 😂🤦🏽♂️ and 2k19 is a damn near perfect game if not for the shooting bigmen.
The passive dribble hand switches sounds like he’ll do simple crosses/hesi’s/left to right dribbles so the defender can’t just pluck you while you aren’t moving, I love it
