A short video on how I acquire the drum kits that I have on my channel. Some are free while others cost me a little. This is just one of the ways I end up getting my hands on some awesome projects for the future.
Drummer/Technician in Texas here! Great concept in this niche YT musician market. I was Just wondering how you came up with reasonable pricing? By the hour + parts? Flat Rates? Do you charge to pick up and deliver? I have been repairing and setting up guitars for several years. There is a market with standard pricing-ish, already in place. With drum repairs and re-heading , not so much. Anyway, good stuff man. Keep it up. I have not posted any vids yet. Just getting things going. Liking and subscribing!
We have music shops around town but mostly big box stores or guitar shops ...so with there being no one around here to really service drums I've slowly gained the business of the local drummers. When I played in bands, I would always use my kits and let other drummers use them if need be and it all just started from there. As far as pricing goes, I just try to be as reasonable as I can. If a customer provides the parts then I just charge for labor which depends on the job. If parts are needed, I contact the customer and go over options and help them price compare things until we meet within the budget. Pick up and drop offs of kits are usually decided on what's convenient for us at the time. I also give them a window of time that is needed to complete the job and estimate that over by a day or 2 and try to get it done before then. Most jobs only take a few hours/day to do. I'm still new to all this especially on the "business" side of it all so I'm learning as I go and catering as much as I can to the customer within my skill level. I know I'm all over the place with my answer but feel free to add my Facebook and message me. I'll try to answer you better on there. THANK YOU for the sub! and for watching! DRUMS DRUMS DRUMS!
