Nice afternoon fly fishing for snook on Siesta Key in Sarasota Florida. I also tie a loop knot on the go, so there is a good example of how it takes no time at all.
So I am using a floating fly line (Orvis Wonderline) 6 weight and at least a 9 foot leader made of 5’ of 40# mason hard mono, 3’ of 30# mason and then. 2-3’ of at least 20# fluorocarbon. You need at least 20# tippet since the snook’s mouth is like sandpaper and can rub through thinner tippet. Have fun and tight lines!
Max, I had rotator cuff surgery on the right so I am laid up for several more months before I can cast right handed much less use a paddle board. It is unfortunate but I’m doing OK with the snook on the beach. Gotta make the most of it.
