We bought an old 8400 just to pull around a cotton module builder and as a backup tillage tractor. Spent many of hour inside the ole gal... Farm went belly up in 2015 and the farmer who bought it still runs it along with his fleet of 8rs
The Powershift in them 8010 series are awesome. Even though I own all 7010 series. My dream tractor is sound gaurd 4455 ps. Fwa. Keep up with the videos.
I’m in Australia 🇦🇺 when I was a kid in the late 90’s we had a brand new 8400 it was my favourite tractor and still is today.. we upgraded from a 4755 and it was a great tractor also.
10 or 12 years ago I went from a very healthy 12,000 hour 4640 to a 8000 hour 8200 mfwd. Been very good to me. I liked the 4640, but no comparison. The 8200 is my main row crop horse and gets used all summer. Has 11,500 hrs now.
I operated an 8300 for 8years pulling a KMC 8 Row Ripper Bedder. Hands down best tractor that I've ever operated. They just don't make like the sound guards and 8000 series anymore.
One of the great ones. I loved my Sound Guard tractors. We had 3 of them. 4440,4450, and 4955. But in my opinion John Deere hit their high water mark from 1995-2010 with the 8000 series and the first generation R series. The first generation 8295R is really nothing but a leftover 8330. Just my opinion, but they started downhill after 2011 with the DEF and all the re-gen crap.
Good looking tractor! Looks like it’s doing the job. About time to start cutting wheat. Looking forward to those videos. You Guys stay safe and good luck this farming season.
Very nice that would be a nice upgrade. If you guys decided to do that at some point definitely would make ripping and disking go a lot faster, but definitely could never replace the classic tractors that we all love y’all. Take care and God bless.
Man yeah!!!! I know that had to be heaven on earth after lots of years in the 8410😁😁😁 It does look strange to see a Joyce in sormthing without a sound guard, but man that thing is sweet!! Looks like that new forklift is coming in handy too !!! Boy those are some meats on the back!! Have yall had a chance to test it on Roberts farm? Thats epic TN Tractor worked with y'all like that... keeps customers coming back!! Boy that ripper does look good on it though 😁😁😉😉 Looking fwd to seeing more of this ole gal!! Thank you both for bringing us along!! Looking fwd to seeing what's next!! 😁😁😁🚜🚜🌽🌽🌱🌾🇺🇸🇺🇸
I love the rubber that it has on it. The same tread as my 4650 except a slightly bigger tire. It tackled Robert's farm with ease. Now the hard part is trying to make a decision.
I’m going to have my 4960 for sale here in a little bit. Has just under 9k original hours. Motor and trans rebuilt a few thousand hrs ago. Trimble rtk guidance. Fresh cab kit two years ago. Comes with duals and fenders. Have a set of saddle tanks and front mount tank bracket as well.
Hold it boys, let's think about this for just a minute! Have you realised IF you buy this, that your gonna have to update your logo and put that 8310 on it in place of the Soundguard. I don't know if us old timers are ready for that. Lol. Nah, she's the new iron horse version, and would be a slick update.
Nice tractor , you boys would love a old box car magnum. They are good old tractors that pull , dont get me wrong those deeres run good but not as good as a magum just my 2cents. Which i know aint worth much on your operation.
Kinda surprised they didn't have it all serviced up and ready. Unless they just got it in If you have the old oil left in a clean container. You should send a sample in. Just a thought.
Son, look at yall...Rolling like a BTO. Got so much room in that cab, that yall ain't even touching legs lol. She looks like a real nice tractor for the hours
what i can see with the higher ground speed the ripper is doing better with breaking the compaction , rolling of bed so tells me the fracturing is better
Lots of hours, what has been done to it ??? Start of computer stuff, something extra to go wrong. Don't get me wrong your going to have to upgrade one of these days. At least you are getting a chance to run it and see what it is. Enjoy it guys , she seems to be a nice rig.
