Allowing everything to dry up and turn to rock will only speed up concerns. Vegetation and particularly shrubs and trees along a park strip, help cool the air and absorb carbon, dust and co2, cooling and cleaning the air significantly. A well irrigated system can maintain a Bermuda grass lawn without heavy demand. There is plenty of water on the planet; even Arizona is flooding all month with monsoons; the ground is literally wet right now. Poor management and claims of water rights play a huge part. Telling everyone to "stop doing things that make life nicer and eat the bugs" isn't working. We are individuals, not a collective living our life by the will & order of others.

You sound like a communist who wants people to eat bugs. Read more to learn how vegetation, including lawns, helps clean and cool the air, and when irrigated properly, demands less than people are led to believe. This is a water management issue, not a water use issue. Telling people to just stop without addressing the problem or creating a solution (pipelines) is not only stupid, but a sign of weakness that you would allow yourself to be issued the amount of resources the government determines is "fair enough". You have no right to tell people to stop since you are a commoner, but you could demand more of your local representative, for instance, by asking them what the solution for the future is. Have you asked before demanding your neighbors stop watering, or is it the control part you like about it all?

Farming in the desert has hit its peak, small farms were one thing but 1000+ acres farms and orchards in the desert. As farms get bigger they require alot more water than residential neighborhoods. In not putting farming down but no where else in the US could people buy dirt cheap land and then pump water to it. Desert farming the way its being down is not sustainable and will eventually dry out the west resulting most likely in dust storms not seen in decades when the water dries up and the earth reclaims its land.

Within the past few months the amount of cattle going to auction went from 200 a day to 1000 a day, ranchers can no longer afford to feed and water so more cattle are going to slaughter houses more frequently. Get ready for massive shortages on beef, pork, chicken, fruits, vegetables , dairy, bread due to drought, the massive rise in feed, fertilizers and everything else associated with putting food on america's tables.

The United States Air Force has, on many occasions, bragged that it “Owns The Weather”. Remember during the Viet Nam War the Air Force made it rain for 6 months on a major enemy supply route. Skip ahead to time now and considering the technical advancements in weather control technology, is it logical to conclude the USAF is responsible for the drought conditions in the Western USA? Would the USAF be responsible for the killer wildfire seasons we have been experiencing? Would the USAF be responsible for the shriveling up of Lakes Powell and Mead? Would control of the weather fit nicely into the cLIEmate change hoax. This Air Force made Western drought fits so well with so many parts of the world wide, sinister political agendas often referred to as “The New World Order”! And, just who is it that is still carrying on with the Upper Atmospheric Aerosol Injection Program that is so safe it has to be executed under one of the highest security classifications our government has? San Diego built the western hemispheres largest desalination plant in Carlsbad, however the environmentalist influenced L.A. no to make one. San Diego is in great shape for making water and has refused to sell water to L.A. for not joining them in doing the same.

Stop letting people wash their cars and water their lawns… look at all the pools and mega houses with fountains etc… it’s a drought! Restrict water use and actually fine the people not cooperating..

They need to stop all lawn watering. Whats more important your lawn having water or people having water?

Why does every NASA photo show the Overton Arm? That's nowhere close to Hoover Dam in the Black Canyon. The Colorado River doesn't flow thru the Overton Arm! The North part of Overton Arm on the Muddy River is where St. Thomas used to be.

Nevada is the most water efficient state in the country They do not even fully use their water allotment they just send it back to Lake Mead. California and other users need to get their heads out of their fundament and rein in consumption and build the infrastructure to retain wasted water. Still, w/ the litigious nature of the environmental groups it isn't going to happen.

Absolute rubbish.. I recently stayed in 6 different hotels in Las Vegas. The water wastage there was frightening. From leaking taps in hotel rooms, toilets that constantly ran water into the bowl, to restaurants serving ice water that just got thrown. away. The over spray from various fountains. The water waste there is disgusting.

This is real simple. Don't let out any more water than what flows in. There are ways to estimate the amounts of both inflowing water and outflowing water so this should be easy.
