Thank you for cutting through the sales noise and providing us with a simplified and articulate approach to the latest round of filters. I ALMOST went with a 20-ND when a 15 was the right choice all along.
I rarely find that I use anything more than a CPL lately and the cost of the new 'filter sets" just doesn't justify the cost versus the use. I already own way too much stuff that I very rarely use and something like these filter sets would more than likely find it's way into that place.
Thanks Todd for a very informative video yet again!! I did get the first set of filters and have loved using them. I jumped at the chance to expand with the second wave and your video has helped me determine what I don't need. However what would be your recommendation for one focused on travel and landscape photography when they already have the first set. Any feedback is welcomed.
Nice video. I invested in a set of their current line of filters a year ago and am not likely to ever use screw on filters again. I really like these filters. I recently supported the wave two kickstarter to get some additional filters and this video helped me narrow down the five I will pick …so thank you! They have also indicated in email to me they are adding to this line up with the mist filters. Do you use mist filters? I have not and am intrigued by the look of night photos.
I hope to launch my RU-vid channel soon. Still have some logistics to work out. I have dedicated the last few years to long exposure photography and have lots to share on the topic. I can solve or simplify a few things talked about in this video. Watching videos like this have me excited to get my channel going. Unfortunately the last 6 months have made it very difficult and would make it hard to start a RU-vid channel and keep it going. For me family will always come first and the last 6 months I spent more time at the hospital than I did at home. Without sharing more on that things have turned a positive corner and I am motivated again to get my creative side going.
It’s not easy purchasing these in Canada from what I’m seeing so far. They’re available threw anazon , but come over the border . Very expensive at over $900 Canadian for the 82mm kit , and I have no idea how you’d get any kind of warranty when the company has no retailers here . May be stuck with Kase Revolution
It's a little Leofoto tripod. I don't think they make that particular model anymore, but if you check out Leofoto's website they have newer/similar small tripods that are about the same. Thanks :)
Can the dark CPL‘s be turned so that there is no polarization when needed? What about using two LPL‘s as variable ND? If I use them together, as variable ND (and what would be the ND range of using two LPL‘s?) are they able to be set so that there is no polarization when needed?
Only if the slight color cast of the CPL bugs you. The CPL has a slight tinge of yellow, which isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things. The LPL is more accurate but basically does the same thing. If you only shoot mirrorless the LPL would be fine, but the CPL will work on all camera types. So...pros and cons to each.
on their site though it states you can combine the original CPL and the new LPL to create a variable neutral density filer so you would have flexibility.@@bukcity9790
According to Maven, they are working on the 112mm filters. They do not seem to be a major priority, so likely will be released after the kick starter stuff gets sent out. Contact Michael for specifics.
