I'm hoping I have enough for the cuff dress, I think it will be beautiful 🥰 Have fun on Saturday, hopefully they have kept some of the deals going for you xx
OMG Sarah! I had a complete brain fart and forgot to say you were with us too 🤦♀️ I am sooooo sorry, what a plonker I am. Have you decided what to do with the viscose jersey we both bought? x
Hi Ruth, brilliant vlog as usual. We had a great time on Saturday and the little gem Corner Patch shop. Beautiful fabrics and makes. Loving the new look to your sewing space. Happy sewing. See you soon. 🧵xx
I have an end of our living room as my sewing space too, I love the idea of separating with the kalax unit but I don’t think my other half will 😂 but I’m going to mention it anyway, I absolutely love that windowpane check shirt, I saw it on instagram and thought wow!
Thank you 🥰 I wasn't sure either but Hubby thought it would work and I have to say he's right! I was worried it might close the room off and make my end dark but it actually works quite well. If you need any back up, let me know 😆 x
Your voice always relaxes me, Ruth. I am just going to check out the cuff dress, as your looks lovely and its a new one on me. Lovely makes and purchases and fab vlog.
I love your fabrics Ruth, I would like to see you make the Tessuti Robbie pants, I really like the look of that pattern. How are you enjoying your new sewing machine? ❤😊
Your woven tees are so lovely, the necklines lie so flat and (from painful experience trying to make one in double gauze) I know that is not always so simple. Just this morning I have cut out one of the Grainline Studio Scout Tees which is very similar. I have an old Boden skirt that I no longer wear but love the fabric it is made from, so I am using that. Just remember that if you make trousers from the white canvas and try to dye it that if you use a polyester thread, it will not take the dye.
It can be challenging to get them to lie flat, I've been frustrated lots of times by that but I find lots of clipping into the curve and always under-stitching does help me get a good finish. And great tip about the thread, thank you!
Beautiful fabrics and makes. The new storage looks great. Best of luck to you on curving the fabric shopping. I have the same problem and am failing my goal of cutting back.
Lovely fabrics Ruth, I especially love the fabric godmother sateen, what a fab find. I love your recent makes too, especially the turquoise top 😍 Yay to getting a Kallax, it’ll be fun filling it with fabric 😂
I live about 15 mins walk from Hollies Haberdashery. There is also a big bankrupt stock fabric shop with soft furnishing fabric and now they also sell dressmaking fabric all at £5 pm about 5 mins up the road
Hello Ruth.really enjoyed your vlog. Yes curbing my spending on fabric is also an eternal challenge, especially when I keep learning amazing fabric and haberdashery stores. In Australia we’re into the cooler weather so my purchases have been focused on knit fabric but when I see all those gorgeous warmer weather fabrics I have SERIOUS FOMO. I may have see if I can buy some and have it delivered to my friend. It will be there waiting for me when we visit in January next year! I’m enjoying your channel and looking forward to your next vlog.
Thank you Julie 🥰 You will be happy to have your cosy knit makes with you for a visit in January, it will be very chilly. I have FOMO with the lovely stores in Australia I keep hearing about and your thrift stores sound much more fun than ours x
Lovely buys! Looked at your wish list and any would be nice to being made up, especially the pinafores as i am in NZ and thinking of making one but cant decide which!?
Hi Jenny🥰 I do love those overalls, they are just so cute aren't they? And named after you, maybe it's a sign that you should have a go with them too x
