@@Swiftjar That is okay 🆗👍🏻 man! The Mario Kart Tour community would like to thank ☺️👍🏻 you 😁 on covering MKT for a whopping 3 years! Good 👍🏻😊 luck 👍🏻🤞🏻 on everything mate! 😎👏🏻🤘🏻🤟🏻
I think my only grievance is that they can be so easily stolen. It makes the minigame where you earn the ally a little pointless depending on everyone's placement on the board. For example: what if you're pretty close to everyone else on the board and your turn is next right after the ally minigame? Why bother winning that minigame when you can easily steal that ally in the next turn? The reverse would be true for the other players, why bother trying hard to win the ally when you know the opponent is close enough to steal it immediately?
10:45 A detail I've noticed about Impostor Bowser's dialogue is that it's lifted straight out of Superstars' Bowser Space (minus the "We should do that again sometime" at the end)
Thanks for making this video, I haven't seen most of the footage of previews yet so this is almost all new to me! 1:37 Yep, as cool as it would've been to have even more unlockable characters I'd say Ninji and Pauline are more than enough, especially considering how big the base roster is (most certainly also for the sake of Koopathlon). 2:15 Can confirm that this is "show rules" in Spanish and everything else you mentioned is correct, too. 6:55 Big fan of these little character-specific interactions we've already seen in Super! 10:02 Nice to finally have confirmation that Jamboree Friends have also character-specific abilities and how these partners work exactly - personally, it's a big win for me as I liked partners in Super even though they (and several other aspects of that game) definitely needed some balancing!
I love that the boss battles are back. Despite many not liking the car in MP9 or MP10, I feel like we can admit that the boss battles are a pretty cool addition.
7:31 The translations here are fairly accurate except for the middle one, a more accurate one would be "All players receive a Star-Stealing Trap" My guess is Google Translate saw the word "pique" (from the verb "piquer", which means stealing, snatching, etc.) and thought it was a noun.
So in comparison to the first Super Mario Party, we lost four characters and gained six (assuming this is the final roster). We lost Diddy Kong, Hammer Bro, Dry Bones, and Pom Pom. But we gained Birdo, Toad, Toadette, Spike, Ninji, and Pauline.
That triple scary dice seems like it could be meta defining. Maybe if you play a mushroom on yourself, it negates it. Seems like that could be bad news and used quite often, and you will need to defend yourself from it a lot.
What got me most hyped from this footage is when it shows that you can place down your own spaces as traps for other players. Something brought back from the golden age Gamecube Mario Parties 5, 6,and 7 which had this via orbs. A fun and cool new re-addition as it adds more strategy. Also cool that in this game you can steal a whole star ⭐️ with one of those spaces placed.
1:57 I put it into google translator and its essentially same as options in superstars. Number of turns, bonus stars on/off (dont know if classic bonus stars option is still there though), minigame help(like in supestars if its off it will most likely skip practice screen and go straight to the minigame), the joycon icon is motion minigames on/off and the minigame icon at the bottom is selection of minigames and "al azar" was translated as "at random". Im guessing this is the type of minigames like in superstars so it can probably be like skill based only minigames, action minigames etc.
I don’t think the items in the shop are exactly static. I’m pretty sure it changes depending on player placement and at what turn of the game is on - similar to older entries. You can also see this since other item selections shown have differences
I’m really looking forward to playing on the Roll ‘em Raceway board! I love how the players move around in little race cars. I think this makes the board special compared to the other boards. This might be my favorite board in the game. 🎲🏎️🏁
I was already excited for this game, even if I will admit I was hesitant to go full on hype for it because I wanted to wait and see. But all the previews and extra footage make this game my most anticipated game of the year since Paper Mario. Like, yeah, I am a little disappointed this is the final roster since it means no Diddy Kong… but at the same time, I’m super happy with what we DO have. Like, I’m mostly a DK main, but with a roster this big, I can swap off if someone else wanted DK and play a silly little goober like Goomba, Spike, or Monty Mole or cool characters like Bowser, Pauline, Ninji, or even good old Mario or Luigi. There’s a lot of great options for character choices and I’m very happy with what we do have more than I am a little bummed Blooper didn’t get his grand return. And I’m not super concerned with the coin economy. I had plenty of fun with and felt Superstars was alright, compared to Super. It’s nice for lesser skilled players to have more easily accessible coin earning methods, even if I can appreciate where people are coming from with regard to it being not the best balanced. The board gameplay looks incredible visually, as I’ve said, the mini games all look really fun, the side modes look like they will be a lot of fun as an occasional diversion from the regular board gameplay. Like, I don’t picture playing Bowser’s Kaboom squad on the regular, but like playing Battle Mode in Mario Kart, I do think I’ll probably jump in on the odd occasion. I think the co-op mini games are all interesting, so it’s fun for that change of pace. Koopathlon, though, I’ll be jumping in regularly since I loved Coinathlon in Star Rush. That mode was my jam to jump into when I had nothing to do and wanted to just play a game while watching videos or something. Really can’t wait for this game, though.
I wish you could buy costumes… it be awesome to go around the board playing as racoon mario or frog mario… or a mini mushroom that would curse you and shrink you so when an opponent passes you up and smashes you you lose a turn… or just different color schemes on outfits
Words cannot express how excited I am for this game, every day recently seems to bring new information and every bit of it sounds amazing (to me) and I find myself more and more in love. As someone who adored Superstars and overall really loved Super, my excitement is tripled at least for this game. The only negative is that I’m SO impatient. You’ve been my favorite creator I’ve discovered while passing time till release, I love your positivity and energy, keep up the good work!
Ayo! Thanks so much Tanner. I really appreciate the kind words. This game is shaping up to be an all time classic. I always try to approach everything in life with a positive attitude and being myself.. So I’m SO glad that’s coming across in my content!
@@Swiftjar honestly may end up being one of the goats of the whole series with how its shaping up. And you definitely do well in that regard, I’ve been binging all the Jamboree videos I can find to satiate the wait…and some people are just needlessly negative and it dampers the mood. Your positivity is very noticed and appreciated
Speaking of dynamic music I bet in rainbows castle when toad is at the star spot the music is remixed version of the rainbow castle theme which is all happy sounding and when bowser is at the spot which also changes the backround to darker with storms I bet the music will also become darker and more aggresive.
Superstars had fun lively boards as well, the problem was that there were only 5 of them, just like MP10(well in regards to the latter the standard Mario Party Mode had 5, Bowser Party Mode only had 3 available).
This game's biggest problem seems to be a big lack of minigames for the main board mode. That's so unfortunate coming right after Mario Party Superstars... Also, it seems like not every character can be an ally, that's really disappointing.
Yeah, even after watching the hints about what's to come, I'm not buying. The main reason is because I've got a Nintendo Switch Lite and there are only 112 minigames on there. Part of them aren't even compatible with them. I don't think its worth my own money just to buy Joycons seperately. I would gladly watch people and see how they play it! That'd be terrific!
I’m pleasantly surprised by this game. It seems Nintendo Cube is revisiting a lot of their old ideas from MP9-SMP and refining them to make them fit the classic Mario Party mold.
I noticed something very concerning. If you look closely through the footage you can see that when 1st place wins a mini game they receive 20 coins instead of 10. I hope that is not the case every turn because that is going to break the economy. I also wish they didn’t have the coin dice which could make this even worse.
It won't break the economy. And the PayDay Double nice is a really good addition that won't effect the economy(there's also a Triple Dice variant of this new item).
Seeing the board game footage and all the other details has blown me away. Everything just looks so much sharper. It’s a huge step up from previous games, and it’s clear a lot of love and care has gone into this game. The more footage I see the more excited I am to play it . Cannot wait😊
@@Swiftjar yeah just love all the characters in the backgrounds, the animations, loads of different items and spaces, everything just looks so good, and this is just 1 board have 6 more to play through. Imagine how fun the others are going to be as well. So much fun😊😊
This game looks beautiful. I always thought the original Siper Mario Party had amazing graphics but was lacking in gameplay and UI, but this game has the great gameplay from superstars with hugely upgraded graphics and animations
Hexes make a return from Mario Party DS! As always no items can be grabbed during the last turn, and you can’t move any further after the last turn, so you will have to leave the board in order to check how many stars and coins you have. You will also be awarded with the game star, coin star, and happening star as well.
Super excited as well! Also, yeah; felt that way with the other modes, too. I'd rather just play the main Mario Party and I'm unsure how much I'm going to be playing Bowser's Kaboom Squad; hopefully it's fun, though!
One thing that I would love to have in-game but is very unlikey is the ability to change every shop items price. Just imagine how valuable items could be (And the daisy buddy would have a better use haha)
Items should cost increments of 5. For example the “creepy” dice should be 5 and “super creepy” should be 10. Raise the prices! Economy still seems iffy but at least a little better without the plethora of lucky spaces littered throughout the board. Still not fan of allies either, however, only 3 turns and they can be stolen better than having it while game. Everything else looking good lets just get one MP3 map and we’re as golden as a golden pipe.
These were my initial thoughts from the previews I saw. I’ll probably share more about them later on when you discuss the minigames. Luigi’s ally showdown looked like a REALLY good one to play… er, in my opinion. I won’t say what it was here in case there are others who haven’t seen it, but I hope I’m not alone in thinking that it was really good… Also, if he is playable in Koopathlon (I’m going to try this as soon as the game releases), I’m really looking forward to seeing the real Bowser be put in the danger position as the other partygoers in the Imposter Bowser’s minigames. (I’d like to think that Kamek didn’t tell the real Bowser about them so that even they would come as a surprise to him…)
Also, I did my own self mini-analysis of Mario’s showdown minigames from the Japanese website, and I think I have just figured out how they could in fact flow together in a medley… with evidence. But I’ll also save that for later.
2:14 The 'Control Options' actually read "Dynamic Minigames", which i assume refers to motion-based minigames. The "Show Rules" i believe mean "Show minigame rules?"
Not having Dry Bones playable does sorta suck, but when you realize that they want every character to have a intro jingle, splash banner for interaction events, unique friend benefits and mini-games, and still have a Mario party that plans on being the biggest yet, I will rather take the quality over quantity on something small like the character roaster.
It was a bonus minigame where youre getting twice as much as usual. This was also in superstars. But bonus minigames got triggered every 5 turns I think but here its on second turn already which makes me a little worried but maybe its more random this time rather then every 5 turns
@@Marko-ij4vy coin economy is looking a lot better.. or in the right direction. Less lucky spaces. More negative spaces! And it didn’t seem to bad from the gameplays we saw for the most part.
@@Marko-ij4vy Oh that's a relief LMAO, I think bonus minigames will be fine. Just hoping they learnt their lesson from Super Party at the end of the day lol.
@@Swiftjar Also thank you (you also keep up the amazing work!)!! :D and yeah the economy's looking good, glad they figured out how to include Bowser whilst still having him playable
swimming pools, alright, euphoria, ig not like us since it was a whole craze when it came, ADHD maad city, money trees, bitch don’t kill my vibe, backseat freestyle and one or two songs with the whole black hippy
@@Swiftjar I just realized that I commented on the wrong thing my bad 🤣🤣🤣🤣🫠🫠🫠🫠. But pertaining to Mario party jamboree, it’s definitely looking promising, I hope this one gets supported like I feel superstars should have despite the limited content in superstars. I’m assuming we will never get another Mario super sluggers so Mario party is the best we gonna have of “new” Mario in the future
Aboud boss minigames: there are 5 hidden minigames one of them is a boss, there are 5 new boards. My geuss is that All 5 new Boards have a final boss, while The 2 retro ones don't
Actually 2 of those hidden minigames are bumper balls and shy guy says because they arent visible anywhere else on the screen that shows all minigames so its probably like 3 boss minigames.
Hi swiftjar, I saw the image of the configuration in spanish, I am from México and that image is from a medium I know well and yes that one on the minute 2:15 are the rules and practice of the minigames
i still dont know what nintendo was thinkin with this character sellection, cutting drybones and hammer brother? 2 more "hero" characters then "villians"? toadete being before toad in the sellection? what is this blundering from nintendo?!?
So far this really does look like the true "mario party ultimate" bringing back features from all other past games while some new things as well. It basically is like "mario kart 8 or smash ultimate" of the mario party series. The only thing I dont like is that coin economy is probably still busted which is the issue that most modern mario party games keep having where getting coins is too easy and stuff making you lose coins isnt as punishing as in past games. But this is so far my only complaint. Everything else is perfect imo. Also this is just a minor nitpick but I find it a little odd that star is there by itself rather than an npc holding it. In rainbows castle its yellow toad holding it so not sure why couldnt they make him star holder in every board. In wigglers board when youre buying the star its still yellow toad talking to you even though the star is there just by itself. They could just put yellow toad there also who would simply replace toadette who was holding the star before but now is playable. Again not a big deal but I just find it a little odd.
Agree! I do wish we had a Mario Party 3 board, but I can hardly complain with how good the 7 boards we have are. The economy looks better than Superstars and Super! Even the lucky spaces don’t look as bad to. Plus! We have more negative spaces!
I guess it's a stupid question but the only Mario party I've played is the DS one so I'm not too up to date on the evolution of the license. So, just to be sure, will it be possible to play online on a 4 player board with complete unknowns?
The only transition/animation that isn't smooth is the the characters moving linearly to the bottom of the screen, instead of having a smooth animation.
@@Swiftjar agreed! I do wonder if someone steals an ally from someone else if the amount of turns until they go away(which you said is three) resets or something. 🤔
They dont. Only bonus minigames have when you get twice as many coins than usual. This was already in superstars where you would occssionally get bonus minigames but regular minigames were 10 coins.
No clue where you found the Mario sally ability footage. Makes me think there’s still more info out there to uncover that I haven’t found which makes me want to find literally every gameplay video 🥲🙃😂
@@Swiftjar is it offically confirmed? Cause i'm super excited about that! One more question: do you know if is avaiable 8 players mode/minigames offline?
