okay for real, ive bought the new smoke sarasa nanos with the purpose of swapping the refills with other pens, purely because i love how they feel so much! the curvy shape in the metal is perfect for my index finger too! and that stabilisation!! so good!

Lamy is (or at least used to be) quite popular in Germany. When I was in school we used to use fountain pens and Lamy was one of the most ergonomic and most popular ones.

I use the Pilot Juice up more and more, although the Uni One 0.38 in blue ink is my standard pen. Pilot Juice up refills fit the Lamy Swift body without hacking. I have the Lamy Swift, currently with a 0.4 blue Juice Up refill. I can’t take credit for finding the hack. I found it somewhere on the net.

many scuba divers missed the pilot croquis which seems to be discontinued for writing underwater - because it was a mechanical pencil with no wood to swell/metal to corrode. Does jetpens carry something similar?

I've rediscovered my love of fountain pens, especially as they are more environmentally friendly (no refills, just ink). I use a Lamy 2000, but would love to see a video on it's Japanese competitors/peers

I am a ultra fine/micro fine gel pen afficionado. I think I have darn near everything Japan has to offer in the 0.3-0.4 mm market. They are ALL good when they work.

Those are pretty neat, but I still find I get along fine here in the U.S. with the Pilot G2 or Precision V5-RT a the most commonly available high-quality gel pens if not simply getting some variant of ubiquitous and average oil-based Bic pens. (Japan seems to keep most of the fancy/clever stuff to its domestic market. I suppose they have quality down as expected, so they have to find other ways to make the product distinctive?) Still neat to see those though, even if they're unlikely to show up in stores and not being available here other than through custom online orders. Also why not make the distinction between markers and pens, since some of those mentioned fall more into the soft-tip category? And for the long-reach, what would the point of getting inside a drill hole be? It seems more suited to making inspection marks on stuff like populated circuit boards - so it's more along the line of some niche specialty thing.

Okay, I'm not generally fond of pen/pencil features that are springy...they give, whereas I prefer firmness for better printing preciseness, but those Sarsa Nano gels and FriXion Point Knocks are probably in my future now. They look too nice and like they write well.

My true favorite is Pilot Juice Up 0.4! I’m a nurse who still charts with a pen (yes, I know) but I love them! Fine point gel pens 0.5 and below are my favorites, needle point is always a plus!!
