Dom The discouragement that many may feel, watching you uncovering such extensive corrosion, is understandable. However, seeing your response to such an EPIC undertaking is, frankly, one of the best examples of shear dedication and determination that is so rarely seen in our world today. Thank you for that. You, truly are unique for the humble attitude and unassuming manor that you display in your videos. Know this, there are many of us that enjoy the outstanding content that you have and continue to share with us. Thank you again. Don:t stop. Stay safe and Keep your happy face smiling. I can so relate to him doing this, put so many hours in on re building this little car! It is why I now, after 40 years of tinkering, went for a rust free car with only mechanical issues😂 But all the power to you, love watching the channel!

You will, of course, get there in the end. But then, you've been here before and you've carried on. You know you can do it because you already have! Numerous times. You just have to remind yourself that you' re going to feel like progress is speeding up hugely and those beautiful lines rapidly taking shape when you actually turn the corner and start welding panels back in. As a fellow member of the Brotherhood of the Angle Grinder, it's so much fun knowing that one very pretty classic is going to be restored as right as can be and meanwhile, we all get to tag along and see that little gem reappear. Brilliant!

Thanks for the 'tips' about the WD40 Flexible (and their cutting fluid, last time). On the shopping list. I don't think I could persevere (or even start) with a project that's quite so holey, so well done for keeping going. But I'm desperate to see something being reassembled soon!

I purchased a rusty Datsun 280z with the knowledge I could fix it. I remember removing layer after layer of rusted out panels. I had ordered an elephant size meal of metal work. I finished that meal one bit at a time and did drive it with a huge smile. Some of that smile may have been from the 7.6 liter motor 😊 Kept it up you too will be smiling!

I owned a 59 A Super coupe from 1971 to 1974. I pampered that car like it was sentient. I can still recall the day I used the supplied jack in the rear Jack point and as the rear wheel came off the ground the Jack point pushed into the body work. The car had rust worm already. 50 years on it is not surprising there is so much rust. Porsche, as you stated, used no paint or galvanizing, just bare metal. Who knew these cars would still be so cherished today? I loved mine. Just not the rust. Great videos. I’m enjoying them very much.

WOW Dom ... Just imagine the satisfaction , knowlege and pride you will feel every time you pull the shiny door closed & sit in the 356 to start the motor and set-off onto the roads. I wish I had some expedrience to help but truly we knew from the start that just like doing-up an old house - the deeper you dig the more you might discover eh. - Solid "pay dirt" metal on that inner firewall is a VICTORY. - Well done from NZ.

I'm not surprised by the rust. I ended up buying a new Mini in 1979 because the door sills which were a major structural boxed in member, had no coating of any kind on the inside, since the car was painted only once complete. They would actually rust through in a single Canadian winter! If you see Porsche's promo video from the 50s, they are so proud of how impeccably well made the 356 was.. Right, if only. I do love the car so I'm enjoying your project.

Dom - your comments about just wanting to get in a drive it and not getting disheartened with all the chopping out brings back so many memories of my first car (1969 VW Beetle 1300cc) …that had a full body off resto - but at 16 I entrusted the surgery to someone else. It still took some holding of nerves vs no bodywork forward of the door hinges and windscreen surround. Just keep thinking about the slow build back to a recognisable motor. Make sure you take a picture of the broad grin on your face when you finally get to a primed complete rolling body - I still grin now thinking back to that point. Brilliant video again thank you.

Dom, we've all gotten to this point in a project and thought whilst sat on the floor with angle grinder in hand "wondering why i took the project on" the difference is with us true petrol heads is obviously we like to get stuck in and do the hard graft because how much we love cars! And on a massive plus side you've got a 356! A dream car for me and many, keep up the great work mate, you'll soon have it on the road and all the stresses of the restoration will fade away, who knows you may even buy another project 😊

Ahh the old rabbit hole, I'm at episode 28 I think on my van. so many times I went to fix a bit of rust and just had to like you keep on digging. At one point I stood back and the whole front of the van was gone, and I was standing there looking at what I had just done, very nervous that I had just done something very very stupid. Keep at it, it will be an awesome well built rust free Porsche driving on the road, with the biggest smile you have ever had. Awesome as always. love it.

Dom, really enjoying your restoration of the Porche. It reminds me a bit of the Father Ted episode where they try and straighten out a crumpled car they are supposed to raffle off to help fund repairs to the church☺. Joking apart, I'm amazed at the complexity of how the different body panels meet up, and the number of spot welds! Keep up the good work, looking forward to catching up on a few more episodes👍 Neil
