I can only go by improvements seen at the racetrack. Even removing my k and n air filter, I always have lowered my ET 04-.07 seconds in the 1/8th mile.
@@newguysgarage6802 by todays standards vizard has been left in the dust, guys like steve morris and tom nelson are way ahead of anything vizard has done in even the past 20 years. Not to knock him but he's just not up to those standards in his advanced age and health.
I've been waiting for someone to talk about the characteristics of air (atmosphere) and how it really gets into the cylinders. I run a 650 double pumper carb and wouldn't trade it for a larger one ( I made that mistake once, thanks a lot Jerry). 😊
@@newguysgarage6802 IDK but if selling eggs & bacon can impart knowledge that disproves 95% of v-twin accepted 'garage science' then that's one helluva shop.
@@6feetoveryou having the filtered lid along with the regular filter allows air flow to come in from the side and the top. That sounds like a good idea but what ends up happening is that the air will nock into eachother (because they are moving in two different directions) and cause turbulence which will slow down its velocity. Air wants to be funneled into one direction and gain momentum in that direction...when you add more directions for air to flow it chokes itself. In actuality if you have a filtered lid and you tape up the regular filter so air can't flow through it you will make more power on the dyno as crazy as that sounds!
You cant find them because they don't exist 😅 I took a 5in stack and some pliers then crimped the bottom of the stack wider all the way around until it fit on the carburetor 😃 Basically turning the stack into a venturi shape 😁
Would work very well so long as the diameter of the tube is sufficient enough to allow the carburetor to pull the air it wants, also the carb hat needs to be orientated front to back (not at an angle)
Stuff like this makes me cant wait to have me a performance shop and a dyno to test on all day and call it "work" 😆 i have a few ideas to derect better! But i wana test em on dyno then ill post videos on it! John 3:16
Only people racing without a filter have deep pockets,i myself dont care of power loss from protection, no filter allows the horn of the carb to proform its polished opened duties,
Its not dyno proven.... More air, More fuel the air filter can restrict airflow and choke out the engine, Which in some cases if your running lean the engine will run better with restriction.
The guy that ouns K@N filters does not run a filter on his daughters Stocker.....The filter is only there to stop turbulent air and debris from the carb.
