Already took delivery of mine. Didn't care for the Volvo, not a fan of Mercedes, and the Lexus is less value for the price. This X1 has an amazing amount of features for the price.
Two minor corrections for the US market. The 19" wheels are an available option on the M Sport, a unique 18" is still standard. And the heated seats/steering wheel are not included in the Premium Package, they are a completely stand alone option. You can also add the disable start stop as a shortcut in the swipe down menu, though it really only saves you maybe one or two steps. Otherwise great review, I appreciate the effort you took to point out a lot of the details that a lot of other channels don't cover!
One of the best review and I have watched nearly 30+ BMW X1 videos. However, it would have been great if you had covered a little more ride quality, ambient noise, handling and tech that helps with driving (the premium package, none of the videos covered that, LKA, auto-drive.....). As it's BMW, "the ultimate driving experience", it would have been great to have seen you cover this. But, overall a Great video! Cheers
Thanks for this - nice review. Voice commands were not mentioned, but work quite well in the new X1. So you don't need to reach for the distant touchscreen that often.
Hey,how much is the cost of heated sits and steering wheel as an extra option? And the lights near the screen that are changing colour,how much is this aswell as an extra?
I love it how people complain about pollution and at the same time they the turn off the start-stop system. the new engines that are also mild hybrid have absolutely no need for having the start-stop turned off, the battery can instantly give you plenty or torque. great review though!
I feel like you should just get used to the auto start-stop. Helps save gas. The real change they need to make is easier cycling though the modes so you can change to eco mode or power more easily.
What's the reason behind a lot of people turning off the Auto start/stop button? does it like damage the engine? I just bought the new 2023 x1 as my first car so I don't know much about it.
It causes a hesitation at a stoplight, also shuts off the heating/cooling of the interior until the the temperature inside the cabin changes enough for it to for the motor back on, and stopped on a hill the hesitation is absolutely horrible. Will be the first thing I code out as soon as it is possible.
I ordered my BMW X1 Sdrive20i Xline just before Xmas (2022). Estimated delivery-time given by the system of the dealer : ... January ... 2024 ! (I am living in Belgium). !? Nice video. It's a pitty you did not shortly touch the possibility of "voice command". 😇
@@tgchris2222 Produced in Regensburg (Germany). Seems deliveries outside Europe get priority. I could not get production nr. so far (as chassis nr. is not known yet). If I am lucky delivery could be expected October-November according to the dealer. 🙄😏
It almost makes you wonder why they need an X3? I know X3 is rear wheel drive but can any company afford two SUVs of same size that looks same to majority?
Removing the iDrive controller was a mistake. The taillights were better in the previous version. Does the new X1 even have front fog lights? I’m upgrading my 25e in 24 months, hoping they offer a version with iDrive controller by then.
Good review. Too bad you had the X-line. Kind of is a letdown when the M Sport exterior and interior are so excellent. It basically a shrunk iX interior. Considering that a gutless RAV 4 with plastic seats costs $42,000 and a CRV is similar, there is really no question. Plus, BMW pays for your service and 50/4 warranty. I just dont understand why you would even buy one of those junk, expensive Cute-Utes.
3 separate button push/steps to shut off the engine wearing ASS every time you drive?! Open viewable storage area under the armrest - have you been to an American city lately?! And we all stare at digital screens all day for work/on phones, do we really have to do it in our cars now too?
That leather looking material really doesn’t look like leather. I am not really liking all this digital interior. Good luck operating it on the move. What a fail.
It actually feels very nice and requires less maintenance than leather. And so far, operating the controls in the car hasn’t been much of an issue, though I do miss the iDrive controller just a little bit. Other markets such as the UK do get leather as an option, but unfortunately the US misses out on a few things, (hybrid and electric powertrains, leather, adaptive headlights, retractable tow hitch, amber rear turn signals, and cloth seats)
So you’d rather kill a cow? Do you also want your shampoo tested on animals? Sensatec is a great, cruelty-free, sustainable material that breathes and provides superior comfort. I’m hoping that when I have to turn in my X1 lease in a couple years that they reintroduce a few physical buttons or at least the iDrive controller.
