More sharks sightings off Long Island forced some beaches in the town of Hempstead to shut down Wednesday. Two sharks were spotted at Lido Beach, three at Long Beach and one at Jones Beach; CBS2's Jenna DeAngelis reports.

@@ditherdather You must be so ignorant to not know that people all around the globe are doing that already. Shark skins are used to make coats, leather, etc. That qualifies as unprovoked, right?
@@ditherdather Maybe stop putting a blame on the animals that inherently lives in the ocean and start being a responsible parent and take precautions. Shark attacks are pretty rare anyway.
@@blythesaunders3124 Statistically they are rare, sure. My daughter has never been attacked by a shark, but I can assure you that if she was I wouldn't be concerned about the shark. That's all.

Well yes we do have many people lol NYC alone had 3.5 million people not including long Island where the beaches are .. I can tell you from experience it's jam packed in the summer lol almost unbearable..
Oceans are WARMING!! MY A$$!! I’ve been going to the beach every week and going in the water and it is literally like taking an ice bath. That is Jones beach and Tobay. Oceans aren’t warming. They’re FREEZING!!
From the headline I thought they were going to say they spotted great whites , maybe some large bull sharks or tiger sharks but blacktips closed the beach come on,if they closed the beach every time a blacktip was sighted nobody would ever swim in the Atlantic Ocean again
Why are there no trees on the beach can go out there just to burn your back face and feet seems a little bit ridiculous to me the sharks have the right idea swim around in the nice cool water and eat free lunch
I wish I hadn't sold my 12' heavy conventional stick. I would be ALL up on the West End beaches at night, chunking for Jaws from the sand. (I know, browns and duskies mostly). BLACK TIPS? NOW I want to fish.
Remember everyone, if a shark swims over to you and your family and eats, maims, or kills any of them.......it is to be referred to as a "shark interaction", not a "shark attack". The most important thing is that we consider what's best for literally anything other than a human life first. That's the rule.
