Thanks for the video on the Ustep ladder. I had not seen these before and your review was great. I'm 6'3" and 265lbs so all the others I've looked at I didn't feel comfortable. Used your link and ordered Monday. Received it today and am very impressed.
This is definitely a great product as a carpenter I spent my life on ladders do you want to make sure that the ladder extends above the landing area by two or three rungs. And at best always have someone at the bottom of the ladder to make sure that it does not shift during the acent. And the dismount. I definitely carry one of these on my rig. Thomyt
I just about fell over WIL jumped with Mat! The ladder review was very helpful. Please do more. Keep them coming. Thank you all for the hard work you put in the videos.
Hey Matt, Wil and Jen, that's a cool ladder for sure! Hope the RV industry puts one in every rig they make! Thanks for showing it to us! Keep on keepin' on!
SUGGESTION... install notches at the top of your RV so that the ladder fits in between... also, the ladder should be stretched higher than the roof for a much safer grab!!! GREAT VIDEO
Wonderful, great ladder. I would need the bag cause I would sell every ladder I own and use this everywhere!! Inside, outside, house, RV, trim a tree, etc. etc.
These are very compact and easy to carry in a B Class RV too! I saw a RU-vidr post that while he was camping overnight at a Grocery store an long term camper (or homeless person) climbed his ladder and was trying to remove his solar panels while he was sleeping. Thanks for the link!!!
Thanks for taking the time to post this video. I'm currently in the market for one but these are pretty pricey. I may have to wait and see if they have any deals coming up soon for the holidays...
Hey USTEP! THIS IS AWESOME. I am very impressed. Loss like a great product. I wished I had gotten this instead of a different types I had bought last year. I will be checking you guys out and putting this on my Christmas wish list
I have two ladders of that style 12’ and 16’. Love them except for accessing my trailer roof. Not so bad getting up there but so scary coming down. I waited over an hour once on the roof waiting for someone to hold the ladder while coming down.
When you went to the travel trailer storage compartment and leaned it against the front wall, you might be able use the wall mounting bracket to secure the ladder to the wall horizontally.
Companies are conspiring to keep Matt from climbing up the ladders and showing the roof tops. Actually I prefer the look of not having a permanent ladder on an RV. Thank you for sharing anything related to RV's and have a great day.
Just bought a brand new 2022 Thor Chateau. Didn't have a ladder. Camping World reached out to Thor and they said due to the shortage, the 2022's weren't shipping with them.
Sweet ladder! Hey Wil Thor is supposed to deliver our 2022 Aria 4000 to General RV in early Jan at the Jax store. Supposed to have better date on 11/21. Need to coordinate an NRVIA Inspection, but if you guys want to review it let me know. Rob
Nice ladder, but it seems pricey. More concerning to me is the fact that you can find absolutely nothing about Ustep, other than it is sold on Amazon. I would think, that a company selling a supposedly reputable product, would have visibility to the public, an active website describing its product line, and/or contact info for customer support. Apparently, the parent company is Telestep, out of Canada. Interestingly, there is zero mention of Usteps on their website. There is zero warranty information on the Amazon link, so who do you contact for support or issues? Before I’d plunk down $400 for a ladder, regardless of how nice it looks, I’d certainly want more information made available to me.
Matt hi I've been watching your videos for a time now. I really trust your opinions on things and love your info on rvs. I have a question my husband and I are going to the Tampa show this weekend my question is are the show prices the best price they can do or do we haggle with them still? Are you going to be at the show would love to meet you all there!!
Hi Matt and Will, just watched your video on the Usteps ladder. It's seems like a good ladder. However when I went through your link to Amazon it did not give me any discount to order the ladder. So I was wondering do you still get a discount if you order through your link and if so is there a code number that we need to get this discount? Thanks in advance for getting back with me I really appreciate it. Have a fabulous day.
I prefer not having a ladder hanging on the outside of my RV. I saw video of a couple that got stuck on the highway with a peaceful protest. They climbed on their roof jumped up and down an broke whatever they could. This looks like a must purchase for me!
@@CharmaineSilva777 "Mostly peaceful". If you take out them breaking windows, starting fires, beating people, throwing rocks and frozen water bottles at the police you would have to agree that they are mostly peaceful.
Nice job! Thanks! Is it possible to let the RV manufacturer know that you won't accept an RV that is missing features (e.g., ladder, heat pump, etc.) that are shown on the spec sheet? I'd rather wait a little longer.
I hope you never go on top of a trailer with the ladder below the edge, you will never get down! Always extend the ladder as far beyond the top as it will go so you can grab it to get started down! Feeling for it with a foot would be scary and exciting, Matt’s 1st on screen fall! Also to be safest possible attach a line at the top rung and heave it over the trailer to a tie down spot! Good luck!
Ladders should be at a 4x1 ratio - four foot up, should be one foot away from what it leaning against. To close, you can fall backwards, to shallow and it could bend or lose footing.
I have one of those ladders for a seasonal trailer because it doesn’t have a ladder. As a 60 year old man that has owned RVs for over 3 decades and has always maintained my own roofs, I can tell you that this ladder is ok if you don’t have one, but it is no where near as stable and safe as an installed ladder on any RV or the one on my 2021 Rock wood Mini Lite😬 Also, if there is such a shortage of ladders, then can you please tell me why Rockwood and Jayco still have ladders while manufacturers like Wildwood and Cherokee claim there are none available🤔 I am looking forward to your next video with Will demonstrating this ladder for your viewers🙄
@@jaybrown5431 I guess we’ll have to agree to disagree. I currently have a telescoping ladder for a seasonal trailer and I’ve had several attached ladders over the past 3 decades including one currently on my Rockwood Mini Lite. All of my attached ladders have been much more stable than any ladder that is not especially when you are almost never on flat or stable ground to set up a ladder and access the roof of your trailer like you are with a demonstration on a blacktop parking lot. Every time I leave a campsite, I climb on the roof to make sure my slide out is not compromised with debris before I close it and very few campsites are perfectly level, but if you have had experience with both types of ladders and you disagree then God Bless You👍
@@stevez340 this ladder has adjustable feet as an accessory to always make it perfectly level. It has a triangular design (the only one on the market) making it extremely safe. Please explain how a 225# RV ladder with no certification can be stronger than a 300# ANSI rated ladder.
@@jaybrown5431 I have an adjustable ladder, I use it and I have had to put something under one leg of the ladder to level and stabilize it, but my wife has never had to hold my attached ladder to prevent it from moving or sliding along the roofline of my trailer, but if you think a ladder with no attachment points is more stable than an attached ladder then by all means go for it!
There's no shortage of aluminum or steel in the USA so "good luck with this type of bean counting." The time to start moving the metal in the RV Industry was like 10 Years ago after the recovery from the 2008 collapse of Lehman Brothers. Now Rivian is out running wild with the *MASSIVE* F150 Lightning soon to enter production...and obviously Ford Motor Company isn't new to the idea of Mass Production unlike say Tesla ... or apparently even General Motors now. Anyhow that GM 3.0 liter diesel is supposed to be quite the amazing engine. As far as commercial engines the Ford F750 has been making noise in this market going on forever now. Cummins, John Deere, Caterpillar, MTU and who knows who else suddenly all have a lot of work to do. Only Allison Transmission seems *SOMEWHAT* safe at the moment. Better be using real rubber for that air brake system, too! The plastic ones used in the USA Trucking Industry for decades *NEVER* should have come into existence in the first place. Plus now fuel cell vehicles in the USA ("Nikola" as new, Toyota/Honda for decades now, plus Plug Power plus Ballard Power etc)
Forget about the ladders !!! When Brandon is done with us we will not be able to afford to put gas in our motorhomes !! You will just have to have your vacation in your motorhome in front of your driveway !!! By next year there are going to be A LOT OF MOTORHOMES FOR SALE !!!! TY BRANDON !!!
Your Sasquatch side kick is probably baller than you that he doesn’t have to look at, let alone attempt to use a ladder. Why is will the go to guy? Daddy own the dealership? He’s super annoying and adds nothing to your great content. Get tubby to climb a ladder on video.
Will, is business savvy and an all around good egg who brings a different and more diverse point of view to the reviews he participates in. Why would you want to see him climb any ladder that's underated for him and damage a new RV or possibly get hurt?
