Hey JJ. I miss your videos and hope everything is going good for you. Your a good inspiration to the next generation. Keep it up! Hopefully one day I can get out on the road to!
No sir my truck is in the shop there. I just saw your truck pull in the fuel island. Let me know if you will be here a little while. Might stop by and say hello.
We miss ya JJ! You have one of the best channels on YT. Totally respect the break and looking forward to seeing more in the future if you decide to come back.
Hey JJ. I don't drive a truck but I find the lifestyle to be fascinating. I also love watching detailed videos about jobs that are completely different from mine. There's a whole world behind everything. Your stuff is excellent, and you really got a knack for the narration. You may have missed your calling in broadcasting 😂 Hope all is well, and I hope to see more from you soon! Happy holidays
Just finished my JJ the Trucker binge watching. Really enjoyed all your videos, again. Can't wait for new material. You take care. Be safe and stay healthy.
@@JJtheTrucker Well to be honest I didn't watch the prime orientation videos at the beginning. Started when you got your freightliner. I will say JJ. You can tell you like your Pete much better. 👍
If your still driving your truck. I would definitely love to meet up with you sometime. I have been a big fan and I drive for prime. I got in to trucking because of you
JJ I’m in TNT & I’ve felt very comfortable in the mountains. Can’t wait to scratch this off the list. Can you tell me your Jake Brake strategy through this pass? FYI, I’m in a Freight.
Oh, the FL is super easy with hills in dry weather. Just set the cruise, set the Jake's to max and let it do all the work. As long as your starting speed isn't too high, it'll do all the work. For me and the Pete, I move it up and down as needed to keep the speed within a 5 mph range. The Jake level depends on the weight I'm hauling. After a while, you'll just get a feel for it. Hope TNT is going well, and best of luck (and skill) on the upcoming test. 👍👍
Hey JJ hope you remember me from all your Prime days and training. I am about to finish up my one year contract at prime and probably going to part ways. It's a constant battle of no preplans and then sending me 200 mile loads with long downtime. Anytime I ask for something different there is always pushback even when they say no forced dispatch. Hope your still doing well at Landstar and be safe buddy.
Hey motojustin. Long time no hear. Early congrats on your 1 year. 👍👍 Things are slowing down everywhere. One thing I learned during the height of the pandemic, reefer (and Prime with their contracts) did much better than most other companies, and better than dry van. A TON of dry van companies and independent drivers lost everything and got out of the industry. Seems like the time to move is when things are going well so you have an opportunity to save up for the rainy days. Moving during the rainy days may not be a great option. Things are going to get slower at Prime and a LOT slower for Landstar and others. Prime's been around for over 50 years and they'll make it through this downturn. If you can run lean for about a year, so will you.
@@JJtheTrucker thanks so much for the great advice friend. How many miles is your baby at now? I hit 230k on the pete im leasing. I hope things are going well with you in life. I been busy and off the social media lately so getting caught up. Take care buddy and be safe.
Hey, great to see you. That must have been you that honked at me as you were pulling out. Yeah, everything is still going well at Landstar and taking a big time break from RU-vid. Thanks for stopping in and saying hey.
@@JJtheTrucker Nothing wrong with that. gotta keep them wheels turning and health is deff more important then youtube. Good to hear your doing well tho.
@@JJtheTrucker Fair enough… just like to make sure all of our fav OTR drivers are ok… whenever there is a long gap between posts it can get unsettling lol (You are obviously entitled to breaks from RU-vid though 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻)
I just get a kick out of your videos. After watching this , I Google mapped Cabage Hill. Never been to Oregon. I've been thinking about going for my CDL again. Many years ago I was about to attend truck driving school in Sum Prarie Wisconsin and was stopped dead in my tracks because I am diabetic and on insulin. So after that, I attended college, got my degree and cannot get a job anywhere. Than I heard that the laws had been changed about diabetic drivers so last week I started looking into driving again. I guess we'll see what happens. Getting sick of sitting here unemployed.😓
Thanks, all is well. Just been very busy with the freight and spending my extra time exercising and eating better to lose this terrible weight that I gained with all the delicious food out here on the road.
Just rude to go silent to the people who watched you from the start. If you quit You Tube just tell everyone you did. Another you tuber who just disappeared.

I know nothing about booking loads lol but I went down cabbage around an hour ago. I love going up it with a light load or mt. The looks on other drivers face them seems a prime inc blow their doors off lol
Howdy jj.its tough everywhere rite now.i can spend hours just trying find a load that pays okay.lot of people are hurting with these low prices for freight and high prices for fuel.my boss is thinking bout selling his trucks and getting out of it.i can't blame him.but it sucks.i like working for him he is great boss.hope it goes good for ya.keep it sunny side up my friend.love what you do sharing your experiences good or bad.your awsome.
Hey JJ! Loads in the northwest are really going down in quantity and rates. I delivered to BC last Monday and was looking for something out of Seattle area for 2 days and couldn't find anything that was paying anything worth running, even looking down into Oregon too. There was a few but they were wanting to pay 1.50-1.80 a mile and that's just not enough. There was some acceptable loads the next week however so I locked up the truck in Seattle and hopped a plane to Nashville to go home and see the wife for 5 days 😆 I work with Mercer and have a coordinator but also can pick my own off the board.
I'm making way more now at McDonald's in SoCal then I ever was in trucking, but they take out so much in taxes that it pretty much breaks even LOL. Nah, I'm kidding of course. Still trucking just been super busy.
@JJ the Trucker you inspired me to get that cdl. Then you disappeared? All that positive talking must have been for the likes? The fact is that trucking sucks! You won't admit it because you have a channel.
@@JJtheTrucker I live in Michigan city IN. not far from the windy. I just bought a Gino's frozen pizza and tried it about 2hrs ago. Hope yours is better than the frozen one at the store.
No bother at all. It's been a while since I've been at Prime and things tend to change. Best bet would be to contact a recruiter. Or Lyle at No Hippie Trucking (RU-vid channel) may know.
Hey buddy how are you been wondering about you we ain't seen nothing from you in a while I'm at prime right now I'm at like 18,000 miles and almost done with my 30 but yeah I hope all is well how's landstar been treating you
Hey Justin, everything is going well, just got other stuff to deal with right now. Landstar is good. Definitely not as easy as Prime, but more money... For now. If things in the economy get really bad, that may change as Reefer freight and contracted freight are more stable than spot market dry van. We'll see how it goes.
Spend as much time as you can on the pad practicing and watching the trainees. Remember, they want you to pass, so while they're going to be stickers to a point, they're not going to nit-pick. Just be calm (as much as possible) and take it slow. You're going to be hyped up and going faster than normal. Slow it down. You've got more time than you realize. Best of luck and let me know how you do. 🤞🤞🤞👍👍👍
They haven't said anything to me about any of my videos. It's mostly because I've got other things going on in my life I need to deal with and don't have a lot of time to make vids. And at least with Prime, I got a lot in recruiting bonuses. Not so much with Landstar. But I'm still making more there.
