I love that doorbell scene. He very distinctly knows it goes "Doogaloo" instead of "ding a ling" and yet still reacts to it with surprise, shock, and anger.
Ngl, Speckle is person goals imo. Esp in relationship matters. Being dedicated to the ones he loves but recognizes when his own boundaries are overstepped, or needs aren't met. That's how we all should be. Clearer and less insecure about our feelings. There's something really beautiful and inspiring about how genuine he is.
Yes! Despite his random wacky adventures, he's a really good portrayal of someone who has a healthy relationship with himself and how he treat others. He's so likeable since he has equal amount of emotional maturity and childlike fun, this is the kind of people I want to be around with. He has a very similar wholesome vibe to Todd from Bojack.
@@oygies7248 I was about to say he reminds me of Todd from Bojack! He gets up to so many things and yet he still is such an amazing character that is charming and I love him for it.
Honestly I love in his rant in season 1 when he says to Bertie "I can't just be your rock all the time. Sometimes I need you to be my rock!" He's someone who's very aware of his own feelings and needs, but isn't selfish either (quite often the opposite). Speckle = good dude.
It hit me an hour after I watched the episode that the house Speckle has worked the entire season on has been destroyed. It’s actually really sad. I’m sorry Speckle.
I do too, I’m an artist too in the sense I do digital art and animation and I know how devastating it is to lose all your work when you’ve worked so hard on it
right?? And then he flushes red, red as the prettiest doorknob 🥺 i think it was symbolism for Speckle being the irreplaceable piece that brings everything together
Can we just talk about how Dotties fiance was more worried about his brother in law then losing the drugs? It’s just sweet to me they made a character that’s an actual criminal less selfish than others we’ve seen.
Can I just say I absolutely love the way season 2 has Speckle go off on these weird, solo misadventures whenever he's not relevant to the main plot? It's a really good way to give us more of The Bad Boy of Architecture we all love without having him take narrative focus away from Tuca and Bertie. Speckle's such a good boy that he even respects his girlfriend's role as a main character and doesn't take the spotlight away from her!
He kind reminds me of Todd in that way. In fact, there are surprisingly many parallels between the both of them: They are somewhat dorky and clumsy, but have a kind nature. They don't have a high social status yet are confident in who they are and emotionally intelligent. Overall, both are the heart of the group _and_ a comic relief.
If it helps, the voice actor is Steven Yeun. That way you can more things he's been in that may help you during a different panic attack! I'm glad you're doing better!
He also plays as Little Cato from Final Space and Glenn from the walking dead. (He plays in other things too but those are the two from the top of my head)
@@amelonnamedkate1400 Wait that's Little Cato?? :0 holy moly, Little Cato is one of my favorite characters in Final Space and I never really thought to check. Cool!
Not sure if you’ve gone ahead and watched it yet, but I can’t recommend birdie and tuca enough. It‘s one of, if not the, most accurate representations of life as a woman and the thoughts and traumas that come with it that I’ve seen. It’s also extremely inclusive and not afraid of talking about really heavy stuff, while somehow remaining light and comfortable. Also the characters are amazing and extremely relatable. The main character even suffers from anxiety and panic attacks. 200/10, it’s sorta like Bojack Horseman, except unlike Bojack, it makes me feel motivated, inspired, and heard instead of making me sad and hate myself.
Joel was one of my favourite side character from season one, so I was excited that him and Speckle kept in touch and became bros. They are both so wholesome.
Two things. One I’m seriously hoping they revisit the whole “Dottie is marrying a criminal” thing and two I’m super glad Speckle is still friends with BigHarryStalion_69
The criminal brother-in-law comment is too interesting to pass up as a one time thing. This may be a stretch, but now that Speckle is potentially in debt because of the bank loan for the house, that plot point may reintroduce the brother to "help" with Speckle's financial issues.
It's a little detail but I still like it. When that movie theater guy was talking to that one girl, he clearly just wanted to talk AT her about movies instead of with her. Speckle meanwhile starts a conversation by asking what Bertie likes. So he clearly wanted to chat with her. It was just cute.
Speckle was super considerate! He was about to nerd out and go on about architecture, but caught himself and focus on Bertie instead. That was really sweet of him.
The prettiest doorknob narrative goes so well with the fact that they're birds, they're nesting, she calls him the prettiest door knob! The best mate! It's so cute!!
The fact that he likes her (also baker fetish), he had a writing desk to watch her bake is the cutest (n also the saving the doorknob and giving her big ovens to bake too.
Financially fund his animated comedy sci-fi action cartoon, Chew, which has been stuck in pre-production hell since way back when volume three of the comic was released in tpb in stores in like, the early 2010’s? (Ya, know if your rich.)
SAME!! I always tell him my weird obsession on an animated cartoon bird but he kinda gets it when i told him that his personality matches his. He thinks im weird but he loves me anyways hahaha!!😅🤣
@@CharmedMoon91 saving good jokes for the full episode that is. Adult Swim like gathers compilation of scenes that summarizes the plot of each episode. The censoring in commercials has same nature: full episodes has uncensored jokes, but do note some words are strictly censored like Pu**y
speckle is the best boyfriend for real, but also just a good dude. also isn't it so fitting that steven yeun voices him?? we need more of speckle. this is one of my favorite shows and i can't believe netflix gave it up. they really missed out haha.
@@MangoMagica She would, and/or she would get that little push back upgrade and just keep yeeting his slimes into the ocean, just because it looked and felt funny
Alternatively, they'll get lots of mods that add plants, cooking/crafting recipes, and other immersive touches. Skyrim feels like a totally different game afterward!
Watching these clips, I feel Bertie came a long way in her relationship with Speckle. Compared to season 1, i feel she's more encouraging and communicative with him. After the s2 finale, Bertie is definitely Speckle's rock when she and Tuca rescues him and calls him the prettiest doorknob (which he is).
I want to appreciate two moments here, one, when Bertie leaves the party Speckle watchs her leave with so much appreciation like "I think I really like that girl 🥺❤hope I can see her again",and two, the last part when he saves the doorknob that bertie chooses for the house and got all adorable red when bertie said he was the prettiest doorknob 🥺❤you really are Speckle, you really are, don't you ever change and don't worry I'm sure you and bertie are not going to have a ugly baby🤣
It was so nice to see that Speckle is consistently a sweetheart ever since they first met! The bestest boy and the prettiesr door knob deserves the world.
"A house is like music, and this is my noise album" is such a perfect metaphor for what he creates in that episode I wouldn't be surprised if that was the sentence the background artists had to interpret into visuals
a small detail i noticed in this vid that's unfortunately not related to speckle, is when the brother in law talks to his buddy about another scheme, they're signing to each other since the buddy is deaf, he's even got a little earpiece, i love ittt (at 3:30)
Speckle is the main reason why I love this show so much😍 He’s seriously the sweetest, most adorable character. EVER. That being said, the whole croissant dough comment... pretty sure the cringe from that is never gonna go away😭🤣
I LOVE the relationship between Speckle and Bertie. He is so perceptive, so cute, super helpful and smart and he always tries to make her feel comfortable and always gives her space to be herself. I’m on season one rn and my favorite episode was the sex episode where they try to spice things up. He was such a good listener and the ending was adorable!! I think he’s the bird for Bertie❤️
I love that comedic trope of when someone is on some kind of trip and they think they’re being super awesome, when the reality is the total opposite, lol.
I'm glad this season confirmed (Vibe Check if I recall correctly) that Bertie did in fact tell Speckle about her childhood assault, and it wasn't something she was keeping from him.
May I dance with the muses for a moment of grace in this *wretched world* or must I always ALWAYS be (voice echos in toilet) dragged back to earth by the *shackles* of “goooood taaaaaste”? Truly a Shakespearean performance.
