Y'all are some really gifted musicians but sorry the anointing was not flowing down on this one.. that was a total train wreck and y'all are in one place and the song is totally in another.. and even sounds like you're out of key throughout
I do take back the terms. I use the wrong terminology these brothers are too good to call it a train wreck.. they were just in a different headspace musically that I can also relate to.. it just didn't coincide with the vocals
What Mike does between 1:26 to 2:38 is mind blowing. He's constantly reinventing himself with this amazing song. Countless versions and each one has a new dimension to it. Bless you Mike.
this was a masterclass on placement and discipline on keys. Mike is a veteran capable of pulling so much more from his bag, but understands less is more and how to let the spirit move through him. More grace man!!!
I wouldn’t exactly say this is a good example of implementing “less is more”….Mike is a mindblowing fantastic musician by all standards, but I just don’t like (just personal taste)when all chords in the history of jazz are used on one single song. Especially on a quite uncomplicated, slow ballade. Season to taste, but don’t overdo it…and to me, this was on the limit of overplaying…
@@theclaverman in gospel this in not over playing this is being very laid back but due to the level of musician these are massive chord voicings if he was overplaying we would focus only on him 😁 but we have a chance to listen to everything and everyone else ...
As I said....only my personal opinion. But I've been a gospel musician my entire life, so I really think my vote counts. It's not difficult to play massive chords, the real challenge is to know and feel when to play them. And if everything is voiced big all the time, music tends to loose its excitement...we need contrast. I still love Mike Bereal.
B Dub is my favorite bass player. His pocket, approach, sound, and feel are unmatched. He complements the other musicians so well. He's a musician's musician for sure.
This is totally unfair and unacceptable.. Why would Mike B just kill a song like that? What did we do to deserve all these? Can you just imagine 😭😭😭😭 We need the doc him to break this down...we need Sean Wilson Piano!!!!
I’m praying for a band like this because I really want to stand up and lead P&W. A lot of times it’s just me playing so I’m behind the keyboard a lot but I pray God sends me the desires of my heart because I really want to elevate the service.
All tension and limited release….the new gospel sound and he’s a trailblazer even if he came from the old school. This is rich for even straight ahead jazz students.
The song is a cover don't understand why y'all be complaining at first.. Mike I really like the arrangement and everything. I'm actually inspired to learn more. 🙏🏾💯💯👌🏾
Yea people can talk all they want but they weren’t there at the service to understand the atmosphere and why Mike decided to play the song a certain way
The band plays so well together!!!! Everyone shines but stays within the blend of the worship!!! I’ve watched this about 5 times just to listen from each instruments perspective. This is pure gold!!!!! Thank you for this !!! P.S. - 9:04 - 9:09 is just pure glory!!!! im stuck right there!!!
Everything is simply on point and close to wizardry...Bassist is clearly a psalmist. I refuse to comment on Mike...oh meeeeen!!! I don't even know what I am feeling anymore...jealousy? Love, Anger....I doubt if this can be replayed dito dito......This is diamond in stone.....that's it
Some of those movements were out of taste…they were nice but don’t make the song melt together…this song is soooo easy to play and doesn’t require much at all…
@@fikilejikumlambo2105 its not about being above his level. he is absolutely right. sometimes just being simple is better instead of clogging the song with unnecessary chords
Yea...i totally agree...some of the moves not sitting too nice on the ear...no matter how level he is on...false is false...but he is for sure one of the goats...
It's HiS CHOICE to chord however he chooses. Interestingly enough, whether you agree with the chord choice I noticed he DID not overplay them which helps me to know he understood what he was doing.........though I get your point,
This musical arrangement is absolutely 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I've played this at least 20 times and all 20 I've heard something different. What is the name of the guitar and bass players?
this is a amazing place to be there!! The musicians are in perfect harmony!! And the must important is the real presence of Spirit of God in a house!!! God be blessed!!
My personal opinion, It was too much extra stuff on the keyboards. It was distracting from the singers and the lyrics. I think I would have like it a lot more if it was an instrumental performance. But it was too distracting for me.
