Turns out I skipped a good chunk of smiles gameplay and that there was more of it that I didn’t explore, and also doors was published in august this year. Mb also guys pleaSE STOP COMMENTING SUGGESTIONS THERE WILL BE NO PART 3 PLS PLS & THANK YOU
I may be a coward, but the scariest thing about doors is probably the entities themselves. I gotta give props to the creators for the designs because ambush and Rush are iconic.
U serious? Seek looks like a PlayStation 1 monster in a PlayStation 4 game. Screech gets annoying after 2 times which also counts for rush and ambush. The only truly scary monster is Figure and he is still barely unnerving. I'm not even gonna mention the other ones because they literally are just obstacles.
I think what is scary about doors is the tension that it builds up as you progress, because you start to get more and more focused, since you have higher chances of dying
I’m really excited that you actually mentioned who created the monsters in the bridge worm game, I have been obsessed with Trevor henderson’s art for literal years at this point and I just love seeing him get more recognition outside of just “oh it’s the sirenhead dude”
I love the sournale because he actually manages to find the bad, AND the good in video games, most journalists just actively try to search for the bad, love the work keep it up.
World War 3? Yeah I remember fighting in the front lines, we were pushing Russia back to Moscow when the Russians pulled out The Sournale My platoon got gunned down and killed, I am the last one left
I'll try be brief about apeirophobia but the vision being bad is actually purposeful, because the camera can increase your visibility in the dark but the trade off is that things are a bit blurry and you can miss small details like colours or hidden buttons. So it creates this dilemma where you have to switch your vision around during certain puzzles or situations!
Finally a person who has honest opinions and doesn't change his mind because of everybody else. Edit: Never gotten this many likes before, thanks! And I've never started an argument in replies before.
I'll be honest, as a horror fan, Doors is actually pretty decent for it being a roblox horror. Then again, I can get jumpscared easily. But I genuinely like how Doors, while it's possible inspiration being Spooky's House of Jumpscares, is pretty unique compared to the line up in Roblox's game roster
There was a game i remember playing a few years back in which the whole premise was that you had to go around your house turning on every light. I remember it scaring me because you never knew if something would pop out and scare you. Its was very atmospheric and really played with the fear of the dark as at some point I remember thinking seeing something only to realise it was all in my head. Wish I remembered the name was but it's short and sweet and very well worth checking out.
I'm gonna be honest, the concept behind the *meta* of the Horror Mansion sounds really interesting actually, being chased by a monster you're actively trying to trap. I'm sure there are games that have done that concept before, but usually in those games, you play as a professional of some kind, there's permadeath, and there's usually only four of you. But the concept of a bunch of effectively random civilians throwing themselves at a monster like a wave of meat to trap it, using only what's available on the map itself and the limited mind of the AI, Sounds kinda fun, NGL. Could definitely be a good concept for some kinda black comedy horror-themed game at least, with each civilian you get killed trying to trap a monster having a progressively more absurdly tragic obituary. Could be some abserdist corporate parody of the SCP foundation set in the distant future, to justify how every civilian seems to leave 4 widows, 17 orphans, 9 ESports teams, 3 Jobs, 6 Robot slaves, and a Dog when they die and why it's cheaper to just throw away wagie lives over sending like a kill team of bots in to do it.
Isle is a brilliant game in my opinion but it is mostly a story-like exploration game without hand-holding. The game is mostly about figuring out what is happening on the isle and what secrets the isle contains with the main of goal of escaping the isle. I would, again, really recommend it and if you try hard enough and figure it out, you can find the truth of the isle.
I honestly agree, Isle is an adventure story game, not intended for horror, but goddamn is it good at it, just one thing about it is that it gets tedious at times.
Isle’s main purpose was never to scare you, but it’s the shit that happens in the game that just makes everything scarier because you know there’s something but at the same time you don’t know what is it and where is, it’s basically nailing the fear of unknown because you don’t know what gonna happen, love that game.
I really enjoy apeirophobia. I just noticed one thing. You don't have to restart after losing all of your lives. You can start at the furthest level you had reached. Other than that, great video!
Thing is, most of the time people have servers on level 92874 or on level 0, and if you set the level to lets say... level 8 or any difficult level no one joins the server, which makes the game pretty boring and can make you get stuck with no one to atleast help on the puzzles.
I agree with Doors being kind of unscary. It’s really more of an atmospheric thriller. And don’t get me wrong, the game is incredible in its experience and is a great game.
Floor 5 of apeirophobia is probably so because in the original story, it's a cave where light can't exist, so it's always in total darkness. The devs probably gave you a terrible light because you can't navigate by touch in a game.
U ok? Level 8 was supposed to be level 6(eternal darkness) look alike Level 5 was supposed to be lvl 8(Cave) look alike And also new upd lvls(13-16)are the best in my opinion.
if you consider making a part 3 to this, limbobbia would be a pretty good one. limbobbia is a surreal/horror style game. it is based around silly guitars, an old roblox item that was taken offsale due to crashing games. it’s kinda similar to apeirophobia, though if it had effort and wasn’t incredibly buggy. sometimes, it can be scary, sometimes it’s not. though it’s still really good, and worth a check out.
While Doors is not exactly scary, it can shock you sometimes and can be intense. For example, the fist time you play the Seek chase, it is pretty intense. Door 50 is debatable though. Timothy and Jack are the only entities that were able to make one flinch though
Door 50 is the best imo if you sit down at the door and memorize Figure’s pattern, then go get the lower level books when he’s at the upper level and vice versa. I recommend getting behind the book shelves on the upper level and standing still until figure goes back down
the only times i got "scared" was when i got timothy'd and double screeched. the scared is in quotes because it didn't actually scare me. it was more like a "AH! oh ok anyways". the only time i'd call something scary is when it leaves a lasting impact on you and really makes you think... _or_ if you get nightmares from it!
If you're going to prob make a part 3, I recommend Midnight Horrors. Its like horror mansion but if there was lots of effort put into it. Its not supposedly scary tbh but its quite worth checking it out.
I’m glad someone checked out Smile (And there’s more to it) Because there’s actually a knife behind the stairs that will lead you to another room full of creepy gnomes. There is also a key, which is where the back to hub portal comes in handy. Apron doing so, the color of the key will match one of the doors in the hallway, & you can progress through it to the next nightmares. Then is continues.)
the main thing that scares me about doors is the amount of anxiety the seek and figure encounters cause the seek encounters are fast-paced and require me to look around quickly in those circular rooms with the 3 different doors, and that's all that really gives me issues and the figure encounters are anxiety-inducing for the exact opposite reason. it makes me go so slow that i start to expect the jumpscare to happen at any second also timothy, specifically for the jumpscare being sudden (and loud)
@The Spider Tutorials look, if you were being chased by an inky human looking figure with a single eye and have to not only avoid falling obstacles but also find the correct way to go in mere seconds I'm pretty sure you'd fricking die of fear now do that behind a screen and boom less scary but more anxiety inducing since if you fail to do it right you gotta start all over
@@LuckySamwich I'm struggling to understand??? I'm getting mixed messages, was it or was it not???? TBH, the music and the quick thinking makes you stressed out and may even give you a scare, but Seek himself is just a b l o b. Didnt find him scary at all really. Most can agree that he's not. Except the extremely anxious people. Yeah they don't like that.
For doors , the time it says is the day it's created. It released a bit ago , but originally created a year ago. Also to skip the elevator you can click the little bell button next to the door.
Doors isn't the best horror game, or the worst. It's scary and tense, but when you learn all the tricks it isn't as scary. But that doesn't make it not scary, some entities are still hard, like ambush or figure which can make the game tense. And Doors doesn't have much replay value beside challenges and finding any entities you may have not come across.
its pretty damn good as far as roblox games go though. like, it’s up there quality-wise. not in the scope of all horror games ever, but at least on roblox, it’s great.
@@serily4524 I'm not saying that it's super scary, I'm just saying that it's scary. Also the technical and visual aspects are quite impressive for Roblox. However, I do respect your opinion. I can see how it may be lacking in some aspects. But comparing it to other horror games that aren't Roblox ones, it still stands as a good game (at least in my opinion).
Bit late, but I believe a BIG issue with roblox horror games is that the playerbase is filled with kids. The actually GOOD horror games will discontinue development (and likely pick up somewhere else; hence lethal company) and the BAD horror games that just incite "fear" in a cheap way will thrive. Thus, doors and apeirophobia rise to the top
Thanks for mentioning apeirophobia lol, I heard about the game when the backrooms got really popular again, and saw lots of youtubers play it and thought it looked fun. But when I finally tried the game, it was a mess. I skipped the entire first stage for some reason, and the gameplay was not fun at all. I decided to die purposefully on stage 5 because it was just too boring to continue. To sum up my experience, it was a big disappointment.
Its really fun when you go in a public server and carry your team and you know everything about the game so far with random people my record was 16 minutes with(glitches like vent clipping in level 7)
Clearly whoever made Bridge Worm didn't understand Long Horse's lore. It is simply just a creature that is curious about humans and means no harm towards them. Sure, its appearance means an upcoming disaster, but it doesn't actually want to attack anyone. Basically, Long Horse is by no means an enemy, just a curious entity with some unfortunate timing.
YT deleted my comment so I have to write it again :( Anyways, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SHOWING WHAT SOME OF THESE GAMES ARE BEHIND THE HYPE. Games like piggy and rainbow friends are VERY hyped up despite not being that special, and Apeirophobia is one of those hyped up games. Behind the fame it’s very glitchy and sometimes just beacsue it looks pretty doesn’t mean it has good gameplay. Now don’t get me wrong there’s plenty of roblox games with so much effort put 8n to them and some having indie game material but so many of the low effort ones are hyped up for no reason.
Fun Fact about Apeirophobia, some of it’s entity models were completely stolen off of sketch-fab without credit, so that’s why some of them look weirder then others, the developers didn’t make some of the models, however just stole them and re-textured them
I think the Apeirophobia and the Doors gameplay experience largely depends on what device you are playing on, i played both of the games on PC and had a blast! Also most of the clipping through the floor bugs you had are just because roblox mobile sucks.
Ya, I kind of noticed whenever he complained about lighting or visibility, it was completely fine for me on pc, so I assume that’s more of a mobile roblox issue with mobile’s different gamma and all that
The problem is because of his phone, I think. I play on mobile but I don't face problems as much as he does. Maybe because I increase brightness a bit higher for good quality whenever I'm playing a horror game. But I have to agree with you, playing with mobile is quite irritating especially when you've sweaty palms like me, plus the infinite bugs.
The only thing scary about Bridgeworm is the many backdoors inside of it. Another thing to note is that Apeirophobia was made by a guy who was banned on other accounts and also stole assets too.
If you're doing another video of this I recommend Midnight Horrors. I don't think its necessarily horror but more of a fun arcade-y style type of game that can be a bit goofy at times. Some of the monsters are unfair but still sorta manage to be fun just from the sheer chaos. There are items you get from in game points(which reset after you leave) and survivals (which don't reset)
I would suggest Anomalous Activities: First Contact Its a really fun Asymmetric game with a shocking amount of gameplay depth and although some of the games end up being unscary and really easy/short (usually whenever the monster is bad at the game), the games that do end up being fun really nail the atmosphere and are very intense. On rare occasion you'll end up in a game with a really good monster who just seems to never die and it gets really intense as you try everything you can to survive as you activate all the anchors while constantly being at risk of death.
And also it's Heavily Inspired by the Classic Source mod known as "Hidden: Source" and also includes 2 maps from the Original Hidden: Source while also the MERC getting the FNP-10 from Hidden: Source and the Kabar from Hidden: Source.
Some actual obscure and scary titles were popular back in like 2018 but got broken due to FE. Some people remade them though! Some titles I remember are They Breathe, light bulb, and more by Zeekerss. There was also a more recent singleplayer game called It Lurks. I know there isn't a part three but you should check them out for the heck of it
The survive the killer games started with a game called "Survive the Jeff the Killer" that for some reason got popular. After seeing it's popularity, a bunch of people decided to make games similar to it.
Tbh I don't see Doors as a horror game, I just see it as a pretty fun game with pretty good graphics, smooth controls, and fun gameplay. The most I can get scared of it is when Timothy appears (Which isn't that scary anymore because it seems that I'm getting lucky every time he appears to me now and I always see him before he jumpscares me) and when Jack appears.
No matter how bad it is, I still cannot stop playing Clown Killings. That was a game I used to play back around 2016 or smth and it brings me so much nostalgia although there are now not that much old maps and having many revamps the atmosphere is still stuck with me.
Let me just say, since Doors is still in Alpha, many things (as you know), are going to change. Specifically, during the end cutscene, we get a hint (MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!) While you are in the elevator, The Figure jumps down and starts breaking it from the outside. After that, the cutscene ends with a “To Be Continued…” implying that there are more floors coming. Floor 2 will come out eventually, and who knows? It could be even more horrifying than the first. Edit: You want a truly scary (and somewhat triggering) roblox horror game? Try “Jim’s Computer”. It’s a very dark psychological horror game that focuses on adjusting to paranoia. Edit 2: All of y’all f*ck off, I made this comment when I was in my Doors Phase. Doors is still fun, but no, it isn’t scary. If you want something actually scary, check out Residence Massacre
@@Demig11 I’m saying it could definitely improve on the fear factor. Of course, my choice of words were probably less than understandable, but that’s what I meant.
@@fireballofficiall roblox scary games do not usually keep the scary meter up for a long period of time, surely after floor 2 releases, people might be scared but that will never last long. just sayin
Smile is very very big, you played a puzzle game without looking around throughly, which made it look basic and boring but the game is actually really massive and pretty interesting, not scary but more uncanny.
Fun fact: Survival the SpongeBob The killer was actually made by roblox youtuber flamingo roughly a couple years ago, but nickelodeon copy striked it so it is gone and other people are making copies 9f it for y'know, money.
Seeing Identity Fraud being exempt from the list puts a tear in my eye. It honestly is one of the scariest games on Roblox, not because of any mechanics. It's actually more of a comedy in the final area, but it's because the atmosphere of the first three areas that really raises it to top 3 in my opinion. edit: I'd also like to say, that if you make a third part to this series, two games I'd definitely recommend you to play are "Realm of the 9 Portals," and "a dream you've had." They aren't necessarily 'horror games' but they are definitely interesting.
@@iateyourfather92 tbh, the ONLY horror game on rblx that can actually scare me it's the mimic... But idk, anyway i basically agreed on almost every sournale's points...
As for The Horror Mansion, the game you played wasn't the original one. The original game was in 3rd person, had a fully brightened map and also had different Gears, alongside more goofy looking killers
I recommend PM 606 for a part 3. It does a pretty great job at setting atmosphere and can be scary sometimes, but often times it's goofier than it is scary.
Okay, this is the 3rd video I've watched from you, and I'm only realizing this now. I watched your 2 other latest videos when they came out just because they were recommended to me. I am now going to subscribe, because you honestly make some pretty good stuff. Well done.
My scariest experience on Roblox was when I entered a server and some random guy started saying stuff like: "UwU" "How are ywu mwister" and other horrific stuff. Scariest experience of my life, 10/10 would not play ever again
@@iateyourfather92 rush looks like a trollface because in a old game created by one of the devs there was a trollface that had the design of rush the game is called find the trollfaces btw and the trollface is called hidden trollface
The main thing about horror games is that there are different types and doors and apeirophobia are in the luminal spaces category and if your not scared to those of course these games won't be scary to you
As a doors player who has been playing for over 10 months and still not being able to cross door 70 I can tell you that it's a fun game even on my low end phone it looks polished and clean
Honestly, with a lot of Horror games on Roblox, it comes down to "How can one person get scared by a game.", with varying aspects of what gets a person scared and such. For example, DOORS in my opinion was absolutely scary and terrifying, even anxiety inducing during some parts, specially Room 50, but on repeated playthroughs its not that scary anymore. Apeirophobia, while i never finished the game (Because its honestly not that fun to play), it had its anxiety inducing moments, like the hound passing right by you as you stand still, unknown if you will die or not... Only for it to get stuck in the bathroom for no reason. There was honestly no scary moments, except the dark as hell cave (Idk why but i fear dark and dense fog in games but dont fear them irl), and also the stupid cheap jumpscare monster, that was just added for the pure annoyance imo. Isle, while not exactly a horror game, more of a survival-story-like game, still has its tense and/or scary moments, hell even the human enemies (aka Mercenaries) are terrifying on their own, not because they look scary, but its just how deadly they are and how swift your death can come. Seeing Demon (Aka Experiment, Aka Stan) is scary on repeated playthroughs, you know he exists, but you never know when he might strike. Again, this really comes down to how a person finds something scary. Some people may be absolutely unphased by something like DOORs, but some people may find DOORs really scary, even on repeated playthroughs (To an extent)... Or yknow, do the funny move that Gmod horror maps do, and just throw a sudden jumpscare of a body flying or PNG getting stuck on your screen, yknow the cheap jumpscares, the jumpscares that people at least get lil frightened by, even if its a flinch.
i dont find doors scary, it gives more of a worrying feeling that you will loose all the progress with one tap of a hostile AI. the further, the worse the worrying gets
While Apeirophobia and Doors aren’t groundbreaking or scary, they were groundbreaking and scary… for a roblox game. Story time lol click to read Apeirophobia first impressions: I was bored and decided to check out Apeirophobia with a few of my friends, and we were pleasantly surprised after being stuck with games like the mimic and identity fraud. I really enjoyed running through the different levels and just exploring instead of trying to beat the game. Most of the levels I really liked in terms of design, keyword most. I’m looking at you, level 8. Despite that, Apeirophobia was pretty much the only “good” horror game on roblox for a long while Doors first impressions: After being stuck with Apeirophobia for almost a year, Doors came out. We were ✨blown away✨ because of the graphics alone. Playing single player is fine and all, but a multiplayer game with your friends on a call, hearing them scream after meeting screech or Jack for the first time, and watching them all die to ambush makes for a great time In conclusion, these two games were actually groundbreaking, setting the new standard for roblox horror games so we aren’t stuck with “Survival spongebob the killer”
I believe that's because of his accent? I am not very sure, it may also be because subtitles are shit. Also, english isn't my first language so what do i know about accents? 😭
Hey Sournale. I request you to play residence massacre or weird strange dad, and omg did it make me crap my pants. TRUST ME those two games are not bad. They are like 10/10 scary. Also like you said not to make a part 3 in the comment. I’m not asking for a compilation. I’m just asking for you to try it and see how professional it is.
Ok I don't know about Weird Strange Dad it's not scary and the game is buggy BUT Residence Massacre I guess it's ok but if you play it with friend the game just become very funny tbh
Playing Roblox on mobile is guaranteed to make the controls and gameplay worse, Mostly because most roblox games are designed for PC which is why games like apeirophobia seemed unpolished, On PC the game has better controls and yes, I agree with the fact that apeirophobia has a lot of flaws, But a lot of them are caused by being on mobile. Not to mention, Doors is planning to overhaul the first 100 levels, Atleast from what I know. also the HORROR mansion had an older counterpart which is a less "Scary" Version of the HORROR mansion, I believe it was made in 2015 or 2016, It's also why the description said "The more twisted side of The horror mansion"
I know that you're not gonna make a part 3 but hear me out, this is so far a game I found to be better than Doors. (I prefer it over Doors, but I think they are even generally) The game's Isle, where you are captured by the military and are being transported to, whatever where, but then the ship suddenly crashes after a accident has happened, now you're lonely on an Isle with lots to explore. It's an absolutly amazing Roblox horror game, even if you aren't gonna make a part 3, PLEASE at least check it out.
For the horror mansion, there was a less dark map that wasn’t as “scary” that’s why the description is made that way. Also, for your question on what’s the point there’s a text at the end of the round that says the winners. If you die during the round your name won’t be put up there, in my opinion the goal is for your name to be at the end of the round.
3 nightmares was amazing for me whenever I and a friend did it, it was truly a fun experience despite some issues but I’m glad it’s not looked at as poorly as some other “horror” games
For apeirophobia, the visibility is not trash, first, your screen gets blurry cuz you lose stamina(get tired cuz sprinting too long),and the water one, imagine going underwater without protection, blue, blurry, and you jump while sprinting, try it yourself, and check can you go faster
Idk of you will revisit it, but in Smile you missed the doors needed to progress, there is actually WAY more to the game. You need to turn right after entering the hall under the stairs, you will figure it out from there
I have a video idea for you. I know the whole purpose of this video is to play horror games, but why not react to scary videos sent in by us? I recommend starting a reaction series where you react to scary stuff requested by your audience. It's an easy series because you don't have to find the scary videos because well, we will. People can email you links to the scariest videos on RU-vid. this is just a suggestion anyways love the video. I hope you have a great day Sournale. 👍
I feel like doors is meant to be a first few time scares with the rest being challenges or other things. I think it can be rather satisfying to play atleast in my opinion.
The people commenting about the "Scary" roblox games are probable max 12 year olds who never touched actual horror games, because their mommy restricted them from playing PG16
Doors IS scary but like only for a bit before you get used to it and its no longer scary for me what drives it home as "scary" is just the silence of some rooms. for example, room 50 or the seek chase never scared me too much because you knew there was something there but wandering around in the gray area, there could be ambush, halt, screech, ect+ edit: watched further and you played the "smile" game. people used to think it tracked your location down- how I miss 2018
