What the HECK is this …… MORAL FAILURE’. Call it for what it is ‘had an affair’ or ‘committed adultery’. Calling it ‘Moral failure’ is like saying ‘I told a fib’ instead of ‘I’m a liar’. The one is deemed much more harsh than the other. Even though that’s what it is. You tell a young kid to not tell fibs . Sounds harsh if you said ‘you are a liar. These are not kids but are adults. You are going easy on them by giving it a polite description. Call it for what it is.
It’s called grace!! I’m sure you wouldn’t want your sins being announced for the whole world to hear. He is fired so there is no need for the reason to be disclosed, that is called privacy. Mean Christian’s really need to repent!!!!!
Anytime people depart from the word of God they are headed for trouble. That's a lot of the reason why America is in a mess. Many people have departed from God's word.
If you don’t know God you better leave church immediately: God says seek me first and the kingdom of God and his righteousness and everything else shall be added into you. 😮😮😮😮
Not only young people, but people of all ages! If you can’t trust a Pastor to practice what they preach, who can you trust. It appears that Gateway is rotten to the core. A bunch of Pastors and Elders who are Christians in name only. 😡
Using the term "Moral Issue" as a catch-all term is a really, really bad idea. They've used this term for so many HORRIBLE events that I just assume it's the worst one every time I hear it.
1 Peter 4:17-18 NASB [17] For it is time for judgment to begin with the household of God; and if it begins with us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? [18] And if it is with difficulty that the righteous is saved, what will become of the godless man and the sinner? Be well and be at peace.
Honestly, I'm a believer in Christ, but I'd rather stay home than get swept back into the hype and nonsense of these megachurches. But I've encountered in my regular local church congregations too. Again and again, I've seen it, heard it, felt it in church after church after church, and I can't take it anymore. And guess what? I do NOT miss it. Do I STILL want to be part of a unified, humble gathering of believers who take communion together, sing together (without the crazy, hyped-up circus antics), read the Word and pray together? Yes, but I swear, the remnant is much smaller than we think. Too much dishonesty, too many deceptions, and too many games, social programs, and silly little rituals-and VERY little discernment.
Hebrews 10:23-25 [23] Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; [24] and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, [25] not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. Be well and be at peace
Don’t give up! Keep searching for a good church. My wife and I have been struggling to find a good one as well. I found (for me personally) that reformed baptists seem to be a good fit for me, and we ended up finding a small local one that we are loving.
I’m not defending anything happening there. That said, churches do hire staff to run the church. They receive applications as well for these positions and they get paid for the work they do. That sounds like HR to me.
The reason people are leaving the churches, are that those who should be accountable, are not accountable, and are not willing to be open, and don't have the courage to openly confess their sin or sins, no matter what they are. They are just allowed to walk away...disgraceful.

@@highway2heaven91 thank you for correcting that lie! And, I’m not even sure why they felt the need to drag TC into this. It’s amazing how people love to hate Pastor Mike and TC.
I agree that the Church belongs to God. Furthermore, we are the Church. That aside, both had moral failures, but I would say that Morris’ was criminal and more egregious. So, it still doesn’t make sense that Morris would be allowed to resign but the other guy could be fired. Why not let him resign as well?
@@kgreen4411 This isn’t about race, which is what you are insinuating. IT WAS ROBERT MORRIS’S CHURCH. He started it. He was the founding pastor. That’s why they let him resign. Honestly, they may not have even been ABLE to fire him-IT WAS HIS CHURCH. I am not here to defend Robert Morris at all. I thought he was creepy before this scandal even broke out. The “elder” in this video looks like a creep too. I am only here to tell you to stop assuming that every bad thing that happens to someone is due to race, because situations are rarely that simple.
@@douglaspinsak1246 you are actually the one making an assumption. Because I’m black, you feel so emboldened to assume and state that I’m trying to insinuate this guy was fired because of race. I asked a question because it was valid, and neither of your responses have sufficed. Does it really matter if Morris started the church? No, it does not! If he did something, that we’ve been hearing is so egregious from those in conservative spaces, why was his indiscretion not worse than this guy’s, who they admitted didn’t break the law? I love how you make assumptions. I guess you think we just always use the race card, right?! I mean, it is the hand we’ve been dealt while constantly being gaslighted that everything is in our minds. Even when we do give the benefit of doubt and ask a question, we still get the charge. 😂🤣🤷🏾♀️
The mouthpiece for Gateway at it again. He tried very hard to appeal to emotions when Morris stepped down. The mouthpiece along with countless others have a huge stake in the "this church is too big to fail" at all costs no matter how embarrassing his/thier attempt to gloss over the disease that is at the heart of this group of wolves.
What pattern of church is it that a 'pastor' is like a CEO? If you start to ask this question you will wonder where it comes from. And it isn't the pattern set out by the apostle Paul. It comes feom Rome, the mother ofall of Christendom.
It's unfortunate that these things happened, but judgment must begin at the house of the Lord. A loving father will clean up his own house before he attempts to clean up his neighbor's. God loves these men and he allows the devil to expose them so that he can have a church without blemish. Let's pray for them and the many more who will be exposed so that they will go to God in repentance. Nuff love ❤. We are praying for you. Return to the Lord now. He will abundantly pardon. Man will condemn you but God will restore you ❤
Sometimes boards are not pastors, they usually are business people. Different direction for a church. If one looks at how much money gateway brings in one might think it’s a good place to take over. I remember pastor morris saying in his sermons the board had different directions they wanted to go and he was standing firm on the direction he wanted to go. Takeovers by boards happen all the time. And everybody that is with the old is let go. How much good has the morris family done? How much good has the board done? Isn’t boards in movies always about the money and not the people.
Mega Churches are not Gods idea , you can see Humanism all over them , mens ideas everywhere, The devil loves these places . Oh oh but my heart and soul is here , Thats your problem your hearts in the wrong place !! Run Run people back into the Arms of Jesus and His Church , this breaks my heart ive watched it for 50 years now dropping like flys and what for ? just bad press thats all ,
I believe GOD next season is to remove and expose all the trash from ALL churches. To truly move in GODs direction and his path GOD will expose what is needed. Be surely your sins will find you out. When your a pastor and performing Gods work you are under a microscope and you better hold your self to the highest standard.
I think that there needs to be serious repentance from church leadership nationwide as many Discerning believers have refused to submit and tithe to demonic dumpster fires for Jesus!!! Once the massive nationwide cesspool has been publicly confessed, genuine people can finally re-enter the church without defiling their entire family!
He looks like he wishes he could run away. None of these clowns were every annointed. They just created a concert atmosphere to separate the fools from their money. It's all part of the seeker friendly money making business model.
@@steven320 Yes I am very ignorant to Christian beliefs that it's ok to cover up assaults against others especially children. Yes, I am ignorant please explain how anything that went on at Gateway is ok to any God. Is that why their Bible blames Lot's daughters? please enlighten me.
No bud, God had zip to do with this. Its in the bible … but you atheists regularly disregard what the bible teaches. So- THIS repulsive act is in the bible. Free will. Not God. And i walked out of Gateway my first visit right after the announcements my first visit. No Christian, not one, thinks this is okay nor would they cover it up. You are right! These mega prosperity churches are the exact opposite of Christian beliefs Timothy 4:1 Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons. 2 These people are hypocrites and liars, and their consciences are dead.[a]
@@johnpaulwebb3440 This is a good question. When the Bible points to a story it does not always mean that God condones the story, it’s there for us to see. The context behind the story of Lot and his daughters is that the city that they were living in was destroyed due to their own depravity. As a result, Lot and his daughters were the only survivors. The son in laws died too during the destruction of the city. 31 One day the older daughter said to the younger, “Our father is old, and there is no man around here to give us children-as is the custom all over the earth. 32 Let’s get our father to drink wine and then sleep with him and preserve our family line through our father.” Genesis 19:31-32 God doesn’t condone this behavior but He allows us to read it so that we can see the danger and consequences of our actions. This news story is sad. God will always have the right to judge sin, He judges those who follow Him and those who do not. The only difference is that God’s judgement towards His people is for their discipline. Discipline does not mean hate, it applies to correcting His children and their character. His judgment for those who do not follow Him will result in eternal separation.
Those are NOT Christian beliefs. We cannot judge Christianity by the actions of people who claim to know Jesus. We must judge it by the inspired Word of God. At the end of the day, we must follow Christ not man. He is the one who died for us, redeemed us and gives us eternal life. People will disappoint. Jesus never disappoints!
What a terrible comment. So the leadership must just ignore blatant sin and not call it out? Wow. These churches must be shut down completely. Dens of iniquity.
@@steven320 Steven dear, it is clear that you are either not a Christian, or you have no discernment and wisdom from God. Have you ever heard the saying “ Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water “ ? This is the same idea. Absolutely, churches ought to toss the leader of the church who is blatantly sinning. BUT, humans doing what they do Best…….” Being human “…….they are all prone to start suspecting every employee and pastor in the building, and can very easily go on witch hunts, thereby completely ruining an innocent man’s entire life. A rumor starts and spreads like wildfire. Caution is Godly wisdom. Gather facts QUIETLY. And then, use the SCRIPTURAL GUIDELINES set forth in the Bible to confront and to do what must be done. But, DON’T go galloping in wildly like half-baked cowboys, with rope in hand, ready to swing them from the nearest tree. Too many churches thru the ages have been completely torn apart all because of several yahoos who’ve just GOTTA take matters into their own hands and be the big shot. Use GOD’S WISDOM AND DISCERNMENT. The way you were LEAPING at my comment with gusto, clearly shows your spiritual immaturity.
It’s not a witch hunt if there is verifiable evidence. Do you know what “witch hunt” means?? It’s a term from the 1600s where people would burn witches purely on speculation with no evidence whatsoever
Stop calling this a “moral failure.” If they preached against homosexuality then they should say that these men committed adultery or were pedophiles. Stop giving them passes. Stop making adultery and fornication “soft sins.” Call it out!
We went to gateway for a few years started in Frisco then the Dallas location. Always something off to me but my wife loved the worship music. The first issue was our son every time he left kids ministry I’d ask him what they talked about or what he learned and it was always “we played games”. Then the teaching of Morris that wasn’t lining up with the Bible. Sure you could make the Bible say what he was saying but it wasn’t true. Finally I had enough and said we are out. 7 years later and now the house built on sand is crumbling down around them.
It’s called grace!! No matter your position in a church or in a plant or in your home!! I’m sure none of you would want your sins being announced for the whole world to hear. He is fired so there is no need for the reason to be disclosed, that is called privacy. Jesus said he desired mercy yet no one is willing to give others any while wanting it for themselves. For those who haven’t made Jesus the Lord over their lives won’t understand this but all you mean “Christian’s” really need to repent!!!!!
