Kevin, I'm the one who sent the wine glasses. There was supposed to be a gift card enclosed but bloody Amazon seems to have skipped that part. The cleverly phrased note that should have been there contained a couple of cheeky comments along with my email address, etc. Again, I enjoy the vlogs and will be looking forward to more of them after you relocate. As an aside, are narrowboat vlogs really such a growth industry in the UK? Sometimes it seems as though a new one pops up every month. A person could spend many hours a day trying to watch all of them.
The “gift card” that Amazon includes, is just a small (3X3 inches or so), very thin piece of paper, easily missed by recipients, unless they know what to look for. ☹️
@@nadogrl Oh well, that's all water over the weir as it were. I guess I should just be glad that the glasses made it intact. Of course, in retrospect, it seems that people sending batches of gifts to Kevin turned out to be an additional burden what with the upcoming move and attendant shedding of possessions. You live and learn, at least if you are paying a bit of attention.
You made our day! Sitting here watching you open cards and you opened ours - the one with all the photos! What a lovely surprise. And for proving to me what all my kids have been saying for years - that no one can read my handwriting!! Lol! - Barbara
Thanks Kevin for sharing your gifts and cards with us ! I sitting watching you and realising I was smiling away like watching a friend open up some birthday gifts! You spread a lot of joy with yours vids....... wow, had Jack Hargreaves flashbacks!!! ( in the nicest possible way!)
Kevin, we all are honored to see you two days in a row. What a surprise. You remind me of a happy child on Christmas morning. What with all the cards, letters and gifts. It's good to see the ol' Kevin back and smiling and seemingly happy. See, we all have missed you and we are looking forward to a fun, safe and eventful 2022 with you back on the canals, showing us the sights of the UK and stories and videos along the way. Never noticed the mark on the back of your hand. Really, some people are so insensitive and nosey. Hey, take care, wear your mask in public places and stay safe out there. Sandy from US
We watched your two recent videos last night and had a good laugh about the fact that we spent far more time watching you open presents than we spent on our own. We are so glad you are preparing to get Aslan back on the canals. Your videos let us enjoy a different part of our world. Thank you!
That was SO fun. When you find out who sent the wine glasses, I expect it is because you commented you don't have any, and so use your pint glass. No worries about fitting as much wine into the new glasses! Also, thank you dear Kevin for explaining what is going on with your hand. I was another one who was curious (a burn?). It wasn't in earlier videos. I even wondered if it was a result of your being injured on New Years. Hard to do the work you do as it is so intimate. We are right there in the boat with you...up close and personal. I think this is why so many of us feel you are one of our own. You have such a beautiful heart. So glad I found you!
Postmaster might be doing you a favor, you might have to eventually rent a storage unit to put all of your gifts…. Tiger balm comes in a white that doesn’t stain. Great stuff …. Welcome back to Narrowboating! Stay healthy so we can hear Aslan’s engine rippin’ the cut
Hello CHG your joy is contagious Thankyou for sharing your adventures ,every time I get a notification you’ve posted it brings a smile that lasts all day ☺️.
Hi Kevin, great video again. We're all going to miss you around Garstang when you've left us for sunny shores! Did you think you'll be back at Garstang one day? Good luck for the future and have a great 2022 👍
This is wonderful. You are amazed at how many people love to watch your videos and sincerely care about you. All the best to you and we look forward to your next adventures.
Behold!... a Swiss Army Knife! I collect the things, having bought my first nearly 40 years ago! Had it refurbished as good as new as it was a rather expensive model, bought at a time in my life when I really could ill afford it. The cork screw does see much use BUT the handiest thing, aside from the scissors is the little screwdriver (if your model comes so equipped) that fits inside the cork screw. Perfect for tightening the stupid damned hinges on eyeglasses! A couple of the rarer models actually had butane lighters!
How awesome to watch you opening your gifts, I'm happy for you! I'm sorry I missed out on the window of time to send you something though, will there be a different opportunity to send something at a different address? Glad to see you two days in a row too. "It's a proper job, this....." made me smile!
Most excellent to see you so soon,Kevin. Did you ever have a go with yellow tinted glasses 🤓? I’ve been using mine every grey morning, they certainly brighten up a dull day 🤩 Take care pal 👍🏻
We wait with anticipation to watch your videos before all our daily recorded programs off TV Just shows you being yourself and enjoying what you do is much appreciated by your fans. We're looking forward to your exploits back on Aslan. May you continue with pride. Sean.
I haven't been getting your notifications so I unsubscribe and re subscribed... Hopefully I will get them again.. My husband and I used to watch you on Amazon religiously and have missed your adventures. We will watch again via YT now. Great to see you again! 😊
So glad to see you back and vlogging. Also so happy you have decided to continue your adventures on Aslan! So love seeing you and continuing our “relationship” by RU-vid . Wishing you the best !
What a lark to see you opening your pressies and cards! And what a lovely bonus to get two videos in a week! Eagerly waiting for the next one now, I am :-)
More fun! Twice tonight!...this old woman smiled often!!! Great fun..now ....Onword and Upward....!!!. Thank you again as always.! Were all very happy to have your company once again!...😃
Thank you, I worried that you had burned your hand. Good to know it is just one of the medical mysteries. It is great to see you back posting more often. I look forward to the clug-clug-clug along the canals.
I would like you to consider putting in still shots thoughout your videos . I don't know how much extra editing it would cause , but you take the best stills I've ever seen . Thanks and STAY SAFE
I am fascinated by your comments on the series not continuing on Amazon Prime. I was under the impression that they didn't have much of a hand in your show other than hosting it. In some way I am glad that someone at Amazon actually watched the show but clearly there are more stories to be told, they're missing out.
In the main Amazon leave you to your own devices, though of course they have the final say in what gets published. Can't complain, Amazon have been and continue to be, very very good to me.
My old dad, prior to WWII, occasionally raced motorcycles at Daytona Beach... when they raced on the beach! Post war, he drove an Indian (with a sidecar, carrying my mum and my oldest brother when he was a rug-rat).
Poste restante isn't an emergency thing, though it does seem to be operated at the discretion of the individual Postmaster. The PO website does say the service is limited.
@@CountryHouseGent It does seem to be the case. Some POs are good about it and some claim to have no knowledge of the service. If it weren't for their Universal Postal Convention obligation I'm pretty sure the PO would have dropped Poste Restante long ago - or charge an arm and a leg for it.
Hello Kevin from the USA - state of Indiana :) I didn't see an address to send mail to you, but would love the opportunity to do so if you are still accepting mail from viewers. Your ongoing adventure has been extremely calming and entertaining. Thank you for allowing me to see your lovely country from your point of view. It is amazing!
As someone that loves music and has been in a couple of garage bands back in the day, I would love to hear you play one of those guitars. I assume you are the one playing /singing your theme song, which is great, but more music is always good. :)
Excellent mate enjoyed the video really glad to see you back enjoyed watching your video's mate all the very best for 2022 looking forward to watching your video's again
Spooky. There's a folding, non-electric, bike on the way as I type. The old mountain bike was way too big to keep getting in and out of the engine room, so tended to walk most places.
@@CountryHouseGent HaHa 😂 I’m really glad you ordered one you are going to expand your exploration and get exercise at the same time. 🍺 My folding Ebike helped me beat some Covid Blues and got me outside.
Greatly enjoy your videos. Yours were the first narrow boat videos we stumbled across back in the dark days of the first COVID lock down. We have followed along ever sense. They have also given us an interest in possibly visiting Great Britain and exploring a canal, but we are both hikers and would rather walk the tow path than rent and be responsible for a narrow boat. Maybe 1-2 weeks walking during the day and eat and stay at accommodations along the canal. Is there any canal or section of canals that would lend themselves to doing that?
Hi Jeff. All of the canal system is walkable and passes through a mix of towns and rural. Most have various accommodation along their route, next to or in walking distance. If you like a good walk each day, the Shropshire Union or the Leeds and Liverpool are beautiful.
@@CountryHouseGent Thank you Kevin. Greatly appreciate the reply. Looking at the Shropshire Union with the Llangollen arm. 15-20 miles a day, see where we get, and then take a train back to the airport when time's up. Probably Birmingham airport. Maybe April/May or Sep/Oct. Want to avoid heat, bugs, and crowds. Would rather deal with rain and cool temps. Initial planning stages right now. Ashamed to admit it, but until we started watching your narrow boat videos, we didn't know Britain even had canals. Much less a canal boating culture/community. Also didn't realize how rural parts of Great Britain still are. I've been to London and Birmingham for work and assumed all of Britain, particularly England, was pretty industrial and built up. Again... I'm ashamed.
Poor Kevin doesn’t quite know how to accept…no….understand?….no…..Believe! That he has fans across the entire globe. No, still don’t quite have it….he finds it hard to believe it. He delights in the packages and cards but they baffle him. I am very sorry Kevin, because you are a remarkably talented, skilled, entertaining and nice guy and you have quite a fan base. I think we should send him lots of packages around the clock, from around the globe and from loyal fans! If you don’t have a wish list on Amazon, maybe you could create one so that I am not tempted to send you precious chotchkees. No, I wouldn’t do that and would prefer to send you wants and needs. But, we love you Kevin, and I (for one) would love to send things that make you happy. Thanks for the video! P. S., we can’t send packages to the old address so we need a new address. Cheers!
Hi Kevin, 2 days in a row happy day's ☺️. Not that it's any of my business but I always wondered how you got that scar on the back of your hand🤦. I thought for sure it was some heroic event. I'm glad it's nothing more than a mystery condition, that causes no pain and will go away on its own. Have a great day.
I was excited to see you open my Christmas card. Thanks for blurring out the photos of my cute grandkids. Sorry I rambled a bit in my letter. My last name is like kanga-Roo Egg. Can we still send small things to the same address? If not, where? I have a small package ready to send, but not until i get your ok
Yet another great video buddy, hope you are doing well, I miss Garstang, lovely little place. If on your travels you make it to London, let me know as I'd buy you a drink buddy and catch up.
Kevin your the second person I know with granuloma annulare! My son Bryan had it on one leg and his foot when he was about 8-10 years old, however with that said anyone can get it at any age. I forget what was used to treat it but we would apply the cream at bedtime and wrap that up with Saran Wrap. It still took a half of a year before it went fully away. Maybe you’re related somehow? He’s 43 years old now. No I’ve never had it. Glad to see and hear your getting ready for some adventure, please keep them videos coming. Cheers, your friend Charlie from Pennsylvania.
Only you can make opening mail so entertaining Kev!!! Can you film yourself opening the invoice from the canal boat haulage firm ? Yikes , you need a few more fivers in your mail me thinks ! Great vlog as always.
I guess I will keep the awesome gift I was going to send you 🙁…not really…I didn’t even think about sending you something except a thumbs up on your videos…love them Kevin
Hi Kevin! Watched both videos in one go. Glad to see you have made your decision to travel again, and looking forward to your exploits. Also glad to hear you do make money on AP, hope you have earned extra from me because I have watched some multiple times! Wishing you the best luck in getting your ducks in a row for getting out of Dodge (Garstang, in your case)!
Ah Kevin. My favorite Brit. Sings better than Roger Daltrey, cooks better than Gordon Ramsey, rides better than Ewen McGregor and sails better than Francis Drake. Thanks for the entertainment. Question. Do you play guitar left handed?
Just checking out the merch and your right...... Time to put the kettle on 😁 t'arnt nothing wrong with being a lefty , I'm one and it's an absolute b@tch to find anything that is made for a lefty 😀
Two people I subscribe to in garstang. I also subscribe to zaheer Malik who owns the shop 'only cool stuff' in the town. I have got to know zaheer through RU-vid. Good luck on your journey.
